Abstract

Background:This study explores the need for standardization and documentation in guiding Muslim tourists in Lombok. Currently, tour guides employ varied approaches that lack consistency and formal guidelines, leading to unstructured service delivery. By analyzing insights from religious leaders and experienced tour guides, this research aims to identify effective strategies that ensure uniformity and high-quality service for Muslim tourists.Methodology:A qualitative approach is employed, utilizing in-depth interviews and field observations to assess current practices in handling Muslim tourists. Data collection focuses on the experiences of tour guides, identifying service gaps, and evaluating the need for standardized procedures and documentation.Findings:The findings reveal that the handling of Muslim tourists in Lombok is largely based on individual guides' personal knowledge and experience, with minimal formal documentation or standardized procedures. Seasoned guides exhibit a deeper understanding of Muslim tourists' needs, including halal food provisions, facility cleanliness, and prayer schedule accommodations. This study categorizes Muslim tourist handling into three key phases: Pre-Tour, In-Tour, and Post-Tour. The absence of formal documentation and structured guidelines underscores the necessity of clear operational standards to enhance service consistency and reliability. Conclusion:To improve Muslim tourist services in Lombok, this study highlights the need for well-defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and systematic documentation to ensure consistency. Regular training programs for tour guides and strengthened collaboration with local communities are essential to reinforce Shariah-compliant tourism services. Additionally, upgrading supporting facilities will further enhance the tourist experience. Implementing these measures will position Lombok as a leading halal tourism destination, offering structured and reliable services to Muslim travelers.

Abstract

Introduction:Despite the growing importance of halal tourism and the potential of waqf as a financing mechanism, there is a lack of comprehensive analysis integrating waqf to enhance halal tourism quality. This study aims to fill this gap by identifying and highlighting models from existing literature that leverage waqf to improve halal tourism offerings, focusing on infrastructure development and service quality enhancement.Methodology: This qualitative research utilizes a literature review approach, analyzing scholarly documents, journals, books, and official reports to highlight various waqf models applicable to halal tourism development. This research involves descriptive and interpretative analysis of the gathered information from these sources.Findings: The study identifies three key waqf models with the potential to improve halal tourism: land substitution (ruislag), cash waqf, and Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS). These models can address funding challenges in developing halal tourism infrastructure and enhancing service quality. Of these models, cash waqf has the most significant potential to increase halal tourism. However, implementation faces obstacles such as inefficient asset management, low public awareness, and the need for improved governance structures. Waqf presents a promising avenue for financing and enhancing halal tourism, but realizing its full potential requires addressing management inefficiencies, increasing stakeholder awareness, and fostering collaboration between government bodies, waqf institutions, and private investors. Conclusion: Implementing strategic reforms and leveraging digital solutions can optimize waqf's impact on halal tourism development, contributing to sustainable economic growth and community welfare.

Abstract

Introduction: While art museums are ubiquitous cultural institutions, their role in enhancing psychological well-being remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by investigating how art museum visits influence multidimensional psychological well-being, offering novel insights into their societal purpose beyond education and tourism. Methodology: A survey was conducted with 40 visitors at Bali’s Pasifika Museum, utilizing an adapted version of Ryff’s (1989) Psychological Well-Being Scale (α = 0.889). Descriptive statistical analysis was applied to assess six well-being dimensions: autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relationships, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. The sampling technique used in this research is incidental sampling technique. Findings: Results revealed significant improvements in psychological well-being, with an average score of 102.75 (range: 70–126), Personal growth and positive relationships emerged as the most impacted dimensions, highlighting art museums’ capacity to foster self-discovery and social connection. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that art museums function not merely as repositories of culture but as accessible spaces for mental and emotional flourishing. Practically, the findings advocate for museums to design exhibits prioritizing interactive engagement and cross-cultural narratives, positioning museums as wellness destinations. However, the study’s limitations include the modest sample size, non-representative incidental sampling, and single-site focus restricting generalizability across cultural contexts.
