Abstract

Endometrial cancer is a malignant tumor that develops in the deepest layer of the epithelium of the uterus. Endometrial cancer is the sixth most common malignancy in women globally. Endometrial cancer incidence is influenced by a multitude of factors, including both risk and preventive factors. This study seeks to establish the correlation between obesity and a history of contraceptive use with the occurrence of endometrial cancer at Abdoel Wahab Sjahranie Regional Public Hospital Samarinda from 2020 to 2022. The study employed a case-control research design. The study population is categorized into two distinct groups, cases and controls. The study employed a total sampling technique for the case group and a purposive sampling technique for the control group. The study utilized a total of 72 data points, comprising of 36 case groups and 36 control groups that were matched according to age. The bivariate analysis employing the chi-square test yielded significant hypothesis testing results for the variables of obesity (p=0.002) and history of contraceptive usage (p=0.000). The study concludes that there is a correlation between obesity and a history of contraceptive use and the occurrence of endometrial cancer at Abdoel Wahab Sjahranie Regional Public Hospital Samarinda

Abstract

Sleep may have an important role in health, but many people experience sleep disturbances both in terms of duration and quality which are influenced by many factors such as changes in lifestyle and social needs. Coffee consumption is becoming a trend and is linked to sleep disorders because it contains caffeine. Apart from that, smoking also affects sleep quality because nicotine levels affect the central nervous system. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between coffee consumption and smoking on sleep quality among coffee shop visitors in the city of Samarinda. The research design used in this study was cross sectional. The sample for this research is coffee shop visitors. The sampling technique used in this research was Accidental Sampling. The amount of data used in this research was 136 data. From the results of bivariate analysis using Fisher's exact test and chi-square test, the hypothesis test results for the variable coffee consumption and sleep quality (p=0.327) and cigarette consumption and sleep quality (p=0.004) were obtained. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between cigarette consumption and sleep quality and there is no relationship between coffee consumption and sleep quality.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder with a combination of psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, motivational and cognitive dysfunction. Effective pharmacological therapy for treating schizophrenia is antipsychotic drugs. Side effects from the use of antipsychotic drugs can affect medication adherence in schizophrenia patients. Non-compliance with taking medication can result in a higher risk of recurrence rates. This study aims to determine the pattern of antipsychotic treatment in schizophrenic patients who experience extrapyramidal syndrome at RSJD Atma Husada Mahakam Samarinda. The research design used in this research is descriptive observational. The research data came from medical records of schizophrenia patients at RSJD Atma Husada Mahakam Samarinda for the inpatient period January 2022October 2023 using a purposive sampling method. A total of 86 samples were obtained consisting of 43 schizophrenia patients with extrapyramidal syndrome and 43 schizophrenia patients who did not experience extrapyramidal syndrome. The results of the study showed that the most common pattern of antipsychotic treatment in EPS patients was polytherapy treatment (69.8%).
