Abstract

Mathematics learning often faces challenges in helping students understand abstract concepts, which can result in low student motivation and interest. This article discusses the application of graph algorithms, especially Dijkstra's algorithm, in the context of collaborative learning to improve the effectiveness of interactions between students. Through a systematic approach, this study collects and analyzes relevant literature, including journal articles, conference proceedings, and other sources that discuss graph theory and its applications in education. The results of the study indicate that the integration of graph algorithms in collaborative learning methods can improve student engagement and understanding. This study also highlights the importance of technology in supporting the learning process, and provides a comprehensive picture of the effectiveness of Dijkstra's algorithm in optimizing mathematics learning. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of more innovative and effective teaching strategies in mathematics education.

Abstract

The Jigsaw type cooperative learning model is an effective approach in increasing students' interest in learning, especially at SMPN 19 Palu. This research aims to explore how the application of the Jigsaw model can influence student motivation and learning outcomes. In this model, students are divided into small groups, where each group member is responsible for learning a certain part of the lesson material and then teaching it back to other group members. The research results show that the application of the Jigsaw model can significantly increase students' interest in learning. Students involved in cooperative learning show an increase in activeness and participation during the teaching and learning process. In addition, this model also helps students to develop social and communication skills, which are very important in the modern educational context. With more intensive interaction between students, they become more motivated to learn and more confident in expressing their opinions. This research also notes that students who learn with the Jigsaw model tend to have a better understanding of the subject matter.

Abstract

This research evaluates the Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) and Double Exponential Smoothing (DES) methods to predict sales of Fortune pillow oil at the Zoey Mart Store, which experiences sales fluctuations. SES with an alpha value of 0.5 produces a forecast of 285 items for January 2024, while DES with an alpha of 0.5 and beta 0.7 produces 338 items. Forecasting accuracy is measured using Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The results show that SES has a MAD of 73.82 and a MAPE of 28.81%, while DES has a MAD of 44.66 and a MAPE of 18.80%, but with lower responsiveness to changes in sales patterns. DES has lower accuracy and responsiveness , therefore this research recommends the use of DES for fluctuating sales at Zoey Mart, because DES is more suitable for these conditions. This guide helps Zoey Mart in better planning stock and estimating operational costs, especially in the face of uncertainty due to sales fluctuations.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the difficulties students face in writing descriptive texts. Using a qualitative method, data was collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and a written test involving 25 respondents at the Junior High School. Based on the analysis, it was found that students experience difficulties mainly in five aspects: content, organization, grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics. Factors influencing these difficulties include limited vocabulary, minimal understanding of text structure, lack of writing practice, and challenges with grammar. Additionally, students' lack of interest in writing also affects their writing outcomes. The study concludes that a teaching approach focusing on writing fundamentals and enhancing students' interest in writing is needed. Recommendations for teachers include providing continuous writing practice and supplying engaging support materials to address obstacles in writing descriptive texts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the real role of the National Unity and Political Agency in Handling Potential Conflicts in West Java Province. This research uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and literature study, as well as data analysis using interactive models by Miles Huberman, Saldana (2014) and Role Theory according to Bruce J. Cohen (1992). The results of this research show that Bakesbangpol has issued West Java Governor Decree Number: 460.05/Kep.134-Bakesbangpol/2019 concerning the Integrated Team for Handling Regional Social Conflict in West Java Province as a follow-up to efforts to handle conflict. Conflict management carried out by Bakesbangpol in handling potential conflicts is through mediation and conciliation. In the context of successful conflict handling, West Java Bakesbangpol has applied the penta helix principle with a coordination, collaboration and synergy approach. Linked to role theory by Bruce J. Cohen (1992), Bakesbangpol has played a real role (Anacted Role) in resolving the polemic problem of establishing the construction of the Sang Hyang Hurip Santo Antonius Catholic Church in Bandung City. West Java Bakesbangpol also has a situation and condition monitoring application called "SIMBAKESBANGPOL" and a Whatsapp Group between Regency/City Bakesbangpol throughout West Java to find out up to date about conflict cases that occur in the West Java region as a whole.

Abstract

Mathematical approximation plays an important role in the analysis of travel time which is influenced by factors such as speed, distance, and acceleration. This study uses the Maclaurin series to approximate the value of travel time based on the distance traveled (x) and the number of terms in the series (n). The calculation was done manually and implemented using MATLAB for the case of distance x = 2 with the first five terms n = 5. The results of the manual calculation showed an estimated travel time of 0.9094 seconds, while the calculation using MATLAB resulted in 0.9093 seconds. The small difference between the two methods shows the accuracy of the Maclaurin series in travel time approximation. By increasing the number of terms in the sequence, the calculation results will be closer to a more precise value. This study emphasizes the benefits of the Maclaurin sequence method in simplifying mathematical analysis and improving calculation efficiency in physical and computational applications.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and describe the role of driving teachers, the values of driving teachers, and the role and values of driving teachers as well as the challenges in implementing the role and values of driving teachers in improving the quality of education at SMPN 23 Simbang and SMPN 22 Bantimuring, Maros Regency. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data collection procedures in this research were interviews, observation, documentation and using source triangulation. There are five motivating teacher roles implemented at SMPN 23 Simbang and SMPN 22 Bantimurung. The role in question is being a learning leader, being a coach for other teachers, encouraging collaboration, realizing student leadership (student agency), mobilizing a community of practitioners... There are also five driving teacher values implemented at SMPN 23 Simbang and SMPN 22 Bantimurung, Maros Regency. These values are Student-Supporting, Independent, Reflective, Collaborative, and Innovative. There are several challenges faced in implementing the role and value of driving teachers, including: Limited resources, lack of understanding from other people, cultural changes and resistance to change, as well as student diversity and individual needs, and limited time and busy schedules. From the challenges faced, several alternative solutions that can be implemented are by holding training and professional development, as well as allocating adequate resources, establishing open and collaborative communication between all stakeholders, and optimizing existing (physical and non-physical) assets. This is also very relevant to the 10 concepts of educational quality management initiated by Edward Sallis.
