Abstract

Financial literacy is critical to enhancing the financial well-being of individuals and families, yet a strong understanding alone does not guarantee effective financial decision-making. Financial consultants are key in bridging the gap between knowledge and action. This study analyzes recent trends in financial consultant services and financial literacy using a PRISMA-based systematic review method. Data were gathered from multiple scholarly databases and analyzed through bibliometric techniques to identify publication patterns and keyword relationships. Results reveal that individuals with high financial literacy are more likely to seek professional advice, while those with low literacy levels remain hesitant. Financial technologies such as robo-advisors have emerged as complementary tools but have not replaced human advisors. The study concludes that strengthening regulations, expanding access to financial consulting for lower-middle-income groups, and integrating technology are essential strategies. This research contributes to the scientific field by highlighting the interplay between financial literacy, advisory services, and technology, offering a pathway to more inclusive financial well-being.

Abstract

The linguistic landscape in the food and beverage scene of Binjai City, North Sumatra, reflects and celebrates the city's rich cultural diversity and flavorful cuisine. This study explores the linguistic landscape of the food and beverage sector in Binjai City, highlighting how language use in public signage reflects both local culture and global influences. As the city experiences rapid urban growth and increasing exposure to global trends, its signage offers valuable insights into the intersection of language, identity, and commerce. The research aimed to (1) analyze the linguistic features of food and beverage signboards and (2) examine the reasons behind language choices made by business owners. Using a qualitative methodology, comprising observation and documentation, the study investigated 96 signboards. The results showed that 67.71% were monolingual, predominantly in Indonesian, while 32.29% were bilingual, with a notable presence of English. The inclusion of English was not merely decorative but served a strategic purpose: to project an image of modernity, professionalism, and appeal to consumers influenced by global trends. These findings reveal how Binjai's linguistic landscape is shaped by a dynamic interplay between preserving local identity and embracing international appeal. This research enhances our understanding of how globalization influences linguistic practices in urban settings, offering a valuable case study that informs cross-cultural discussions about language, identity, and commerce.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and evaluate a high-quality Complex Problem Solving (CPS) test instrument based on global warming issues to assess students' Computational Thinking (CT) skills. Global warming was chosen because of its contextual relevance in 21st-century education and its potential to promote higher-order thinking. The instrument consists of six essay questions that require students to demonstrate complex problem-solving skills, including decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. The method used in this study is Research and Development (RD), which contains five stages: (1) analysis of needs, (2) development of the instrument, (3) validation by an expert, (4) trial instruments, and (5) data analysis using the Rasch Model. This instrument was evaluated using the Rasch model to examine the validity, reliability, and difficulty level of its items, which were analyzed using the Minister 3.80.1 software. The results showed that the instrument achieved the "very valid" categories for content and construct validity. The raw variance explained by the measure was 76.20%, classified as "specific," indicating strong empirical validity. The Cronbach's alpha (KR-20) value was 0.91, indicating the instrument's high reliability. The item reliability value was 0.94, and the person reliability was 0.89. This means that students' consistency in answering questions was good, and the instrument had high reliability. The distribution of item difficulty levels was balanced, allowing students to be distinguished by their abilities at various levels. It can be concluded that this instrument is reliable and valid. Thus, this instrument can measure students' computational thinking skills on global warming.

Abstract

Effective financial management in public schools plays a crucial role in sustaining educational services, particularly during the implementation of student admissions, which requires efficient and accountable planning and funding. However, the diversity of funding sources and the limited financial management capacity of schools remain persistent challenges. This study aims to describe the funding practices for PPDB and analyze the strategies used by public schools to optimize various financial sources. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected using structured questionnaires distributed to principals and treasurers of several public schools. The data were analyzed thematically and presented in visual formats. Findings indicate that the five main funding sources for PPDB activities are BOS (School Operational Support), RKAS (School Budget and Activity Plans), school committee funds, local education office support, and parents' contributions. While BOS remains the most dominant source, schools are also making efforts to diversify funding. The study concludes that multi-source funding requires transparent, collaborative, and adaptive financial governance. This research contributes to the academic discourse by highlighting the need for managerial capacity building and digital-based financial systems in order to strengthen school-level education financing and ensure equity in educational service delivery.

Abstract

Multicultural Indonesia has local wisdom as a marker of national identity, but rapid digitalization—accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic—has changed students' perceptions, rendering cultural values obsolete. This study describes a strategy for cultural preservation by integrating local wisdom into intra- and extracurricular activities in elementary schools. A qualitative design was implemented through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Participants (students, teachers, and principals) were purposively selected in educational units that instill cultural values. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model (reduction, presentation, and verification) and validated through the triangulation of sources and techniques. These local wisdom-based activities foster students' cultural identity while enhancing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The implications of these findings include the need for ongoing policy support, targeted teacher training, and the judicious use of technology to maintain cultural content in digital classrooms. The results indicate that schools function as agents of cultural transmission, as local content is integrated into Javanese Language, Fine Arts, and Civic Education subjects. At the same time, Pencak Silat and Karawitan expand their practices into extracurricular areas. These findings underscore the importance of revitalizing local wisdom as a foundation for character education in today's globalized world.

Abstract

Education should produce human resources who have competencies in the 21st century. One of the 21st-century skills students need to have is critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyse three aspects: the improvement of students' critical thinking skills, the implementation of learning, and student responses to the application of the discovery learning model based on local wisdom in the material of separating mixtures. This type of research utilized descriptive-quantitative methods. The subjects of this research were students of grade 8A MTs Negeri 2 Situbondo. There are observation methods, tests, and response questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the application of the discovery learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills, as indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.73, which meets high criteria. The implementation of learning using this model yielded a percentage result of 91.62% at the first meeting and 95.37% at the second meeting, both in the very good category. Student responses to learning showed very good results, a total percentage of 92% with very high criteria. These findings suggest that the discovery learning model, grounded in local wisdom, effectively enhances students' critical thinking skills, ensures well-implemented learning, and receives positive feedback from students. These results not only support local contextual learning but also contribute to global science education by showing that integrating cultural relevance can enhance critical thinking in diverse classroom settings.
