Community Service Activities entitled Freshwater Lobster and Silkworm Cultivation, were carried out from September to November 2024. The need for freshwater lobster feed that is difficult to obtain makes natural feed such as silkworm cultivation, an alternative to be used as feed for freshwater lobster cultivation. In addition, Freshwater Lobster cultivation is still very rarely carried out in the Gorontalo area, thus providing opportunities and benefits for inmates to be able to become independent after leaving prison. The need for freshwater lobster feed that is difficult to obtain makes natural feed for larvae/fry such as silkworms, an alternative to be used as feed for freshwater lobster cultivation. Abstract

The government stipulates Law Number 35 of 2014, which amends Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. This legislation explicitly delineates that children represent the successors of the nation's generation and must be afforded protection from all forms of violence and discrimination. The established regulations serve as an appropriate legal foundation for the provision of protection for children. This counseling activity is conducted to educate the community as a proactive measure to prevent and address crimes or criminal acts. The proliferation of counseling initiatives undertaken by law enforcement agencies and local governmental bodies is anticipated to enhance public comprehension regarding the importance of preventive measures against criminal activities, particularly those involving violence directed at children. This activity is conducted in three stages, specifically: Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the dissemination of child violence law policies, and the establishment of a collective commitment to encourage the community to adhere to the law. The findings of the community service indicated that insufficient parental supervision and a lack of awareness among children regarding problem-solving through deliberation have contributed to the emergence of numerous groups of children. In the interim, initiatives undertaken in partnership with law enforcement to address crimes against children in Bone Regency encompass: guidance, peace efforts, counseling, and patrols. Educating families regarding the significance of supervising their children is essential to prevent their offspring from becoming either victims or perpetrators of criminal activities. Delivering continuous legal education in light of the significant role that society plays in the prevention of crime, particularly violent offenses against children.

Abstract

Deliberation is one of the main principles in Islamic teachings that functions as a means to achieve fair and wise collective decisions. In Islamic law, deliberation plays an important role in the decision-making process, both in the political, social, and legal realms. This study aims to examine in depth the concept of deliberation based on the arguments of the Qur'an and Hadith, and its application in the formation of Islamic law (sharia). Through a normative approach and analysis of classical and contemporary literature, this study highlights the importance of deliberation as a mechanism to ensure the participation of the people in the legislative process. In addition, this study also explores how collective decisions taken through deliberation are able to reflect justice, equality, and mutual agreement, in accordance with Islamic values. The findings of this study indicate that deliberation is not only relevant in the context of traditional Islamic law, but also has strong significance in modern legal and governance systems, especially in efforts to promote transparency and accountability.

Abstract

This study critically examines the interrelated phenomena of fundamentalism and radicalism, focusing on their conceptual foundations, socio-political functions, and ambivalent impacts within contemporary Indonesian society. Drawing on a qualitative, literature-based methodology, the research engages religious texts, academic discourse, and socio-political theory to explore how these ideologies emerge in response to structural inequality, moral disorientation, and identity-based exclusion. Rather than reducing fundamentalism and radicalism to extremist threats, the study analyzes them as complex, context-dependent responses to perceived injustice and cultural fragmentation. The findings reveal that both ideologies possess dual potentials: they can foster moral solidarity, community resilience, and ethical critique, yet they also risk producing intolerance, exclusion, and authoritarianism particularly when politicized or absolutized. Root causes such as economic marginalization, epistemic insecurity, and elite manipulation are identified as key drivers of ideological entrenchment. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for nuanced, justice-oriented responses that address the structural conditions underlying ideological radicalization, and calls for future research grounded in lived experience, interdisciplinary analysis, and civic ethics.

Abstract

This philosophical exploration examines the emergence of technology in the Igbo-African context. Drawing on philosophical literature and Igbo cultural practices, the paper explores how technology has been understood and used in Igbo society. It considers the role of culture, ethics, and values in shaping the development of technology and highlights the importance of a holistic approach to technology that takes into account the social and cultural context in which it is used. The paper argues that a deeper understanding of the Igbo worldview and philosophy can provide insights into the ethical and social implications of technology and offer a more balanced approach to technology development and implementation. Ultimately, the paper suggests that an engagement with African philosophical traditions can enrich global discussions about technology and contribute to a more diverse and inclusive technological landscape.

Abstract

Islamic finance is an alternative economic system that is growing rapidly in Indonesia, based on Islamic principles such as the prohibition of usury, fairness in transactions, transparency, and social responsibility. This paper examines the main principles of the Islamic financial system, including the prohibition of usury and gharar, as well as the application of ethical and moral values in financial activities. In addition, this article also discusses various innovative Islamic financial products such as sukuk, microfinance, and Islamic insurance, which are designed to meet the needs of the community while still upholding Islamic principles. Despite significant growth, this industry still faces a number of challenges, including limited regulations that support innovation, low public literacy, tight competition with conventional systems, and a lack of competent human resources. Through a descriptive-analytical approach, this study shows that consistent application of Islamic principles, adaptive regulatory support, and increasing human resource capacity are the keys to strengthening and sustaining the Islamic financial system in Indonesia. This research is expected to be an academic contribution to the development of more inclusive and sustainable Islamic economic theory and practice.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to enhance financial literacy among Takmir (mosque administrators) and Majelis Taklim (Islamic study groups) to improve their financial management skills and accountability within the mosque. As non-profit religious organizations, mosques require proper financial governance to ensure the effective use of funds and foster public trust. The program focuses on addressing three core issues: (1) lack of awareness among mosque administrators and Majelis Taklim regarding the importance of financial accountability to the congregation; (2) limited knowledge of basic accounting principles for preparing financial reports; and (3) insufficient understanding of financial reporting as a key accountability tool. The activity began with a pre-survey to identify specific challenges faced by the target groups. A pre-test was then conducted through interviews to evaluate participants’ initial knowledge of mosque financial management. The main activities included socialization, financial literacy education, Excel-based bookkeeping training, and mentoring. A post-test was also carried out to assess improvements in participants’ understanding. The program was implemented on Saturday, March 19, 2025, from 09:30 to 16:00 WITA at the Nurul Islam Kalantubung Mosque in Sudiang, Makassar City, with 25 mosque administrators and Majelis Taklim members participating. As a result of the training, participants demonstrated enhanced knowledge of financial management, gained the ability to prepare structured financial reports using Excel, and increased transparency and accountability. This led to a boost in public trust toward the mosque's financial governance.

Abstract

As the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia has great potential in developing the sharia economy, including strengthening the microfinance sector. Bank Waqf Mikro (BWM) is present as a sharia-based inclusive financial instrument aimed at supporting micro-enterprises around Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). However, low digital literacy and limited access to technology-based marketing remain major challenges for beneficiaries. This community service activity aims to increase the digital capacity of MSMEs assisted by BWM Ummul Mukminin Aisyiyah Makassar through digital marketing training and mentoring programs. Initial results show a 32% increase in participants' understanding of digital marketing concepts based on pre- and post-tests. As many as 85% of participants have successfully uploaded products to social media and marketplaces, although they still require further guidance. In addition, BWM's active involvement as a partner in the recruitment process, moral guidance, and evaluation, significantly contributed to the program's success. Future plans include intensive mentoring through one-on-one coaching, monitoring the program's impact through surveys and sales tracking, and developing a replication blueprint for MSMEs assisted by Aisyiyah in other regions. These findings strengthen the argument that digital training integrated with Sharia-based empowerment can be an effective strategy for increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs. With the support of the right ecosystem, similar programs can become models for sustainable economic empowerment in the era of digital transformation.
