Abstract

Indonesia was in an uproar over the issuance of an emergency alert, something that had never previously occurred in the form of a demonstration. Typically, emergency alerts in Indonesia are issued due to natural disasters. The author aims to examine how online media framed this emergency alert, which drew significant public attention in Indonesia. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilising primary data from news reports published by online media in Indonesia. Data processing is conducted using the NVIVO application to analyse the news from these media sources. The framing analysis of online news articles reveals that the phrase “Expression Of Aspirations” appeared most frequently.  Based on the coding results, it can be concluded that before the large-scale and rapid demonstration took place, online media framed their news coverage around the theme of expressing aspirations, which ultimately led to a massive public demonstration.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of storytelling marketing and service quality on purchase decisions with trust as a mediating variable among IndiHome customers in Padang City. The study employed purposive sampling with a total sample of 195 respondents who had subscribed to IndiHome for at least 6 months. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Square (PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results show that storytelling marketing does not have a significant effect on purchase decisions. Conversely, service quality has a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. Furthermore, both storytelling marketing and service quality have a positive and significant effect on trust. Trust also has a positive and significant impact on purchase decisions, mediating the influence of storytelling marketing and service quality on these decisions. The coefficient of determination (R²) value for the trust variable is 0.683, which means that 68.3% of the variation in trust can be explained by storytelling marketing and service quality. Meanwhile, the R² value for subscription decisions is 0.677, which means that 67.7% of the variation in subscription decisions can be explained by storytelling marketing, service quality, and trust. The remaining 32.3% is explained by other factors outside the scope of this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the process of collaborative governance in the development of religious tourism at the Tomb of Gus Dur in Jombang Regency based on the framework by Ansell and Gash (2008). The research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The findings indicate that the cooperation between the Jombang Regency Office of Youth, Sports, and Tourism (Disporapar) and the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School was initiated through coordination following a surge of visitors after Gus Dur’s passing, which was not matched by adequate infrastructure. Additionally, the imbalance of authority among human resources also formed the basis for this collaboration. In terms of institutional design, the collaboration is supported by a written agreement titled the joint agreement, signed by both parties. In the dimension of facilitative leadership, Disporapar plays the role of a leader supporting the collaborative process. In the collaborative process itself, face-to-face dialogue was conducted, commitment was demonstrated through the signing of the agreement, mutual understanding was built through discussion forums, and early success of the collaboration was shown by winning the title of Cultural Tourism Attraction at the 2017 East Java Tourism Awards

This study explores how Turkey utilises the Istanbul International Film Festival (IIFF) as a public diplomacy tool to shape its international image. Using Nicholas J. Cull’s public diplomacy theory, particularly the aspect of cultural diplomacy, this research analyses how IIFF film festival serves as a cultural communication platforms that introduce Turkey’s values, identity, and narratives to global audiences. The study employs literature review, documentation of IIFF events, and content analysis of featured films and programs. The findings reveal that IIFF is not only a site of cultural exchange but also a strategic tool for the Turkish government to subtly convey political messages, extend cultural influence, and strengthen the country's position in international discourse. This strategy aligns with Turkey’s broader efforts to enhance its global soft power. The study concludes that cultural diplomacy through film festivals such as IIFF is an effective means of reinforcing national branding and fostering positive perceptions of Turkey on the world stage.

Abstract

This study explores the strengthening of governance in Indonesia amid the challenges of digital disruption, marked by growing public demands for speed, transparency, and innovation in public services. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, direct observation of collaborative events, and analysis of documentation related to public sector digital transformation. The findings highlight persistent governance issues, including inconsistent decentralisation, bureaucratic inefficiency rooted in a nepotistic culture, and limited institutional readiness for digital adaptation. To address these challenges, the study investigates the operationalisation of the Pentahelix collaboration model—an inclusive framework that brings together government, academia, business, community groups, and the media. Field data show that this model enhances collaborative governance by leveraging diverse actor capacities in co-creating adaptive and innovative solutions. The Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival is used as a case study to illustrate real-world implementation of the Pentahelix model, revealing how multi-sector synergy contributes to digital transformation, public trust, and institutional resilience. Despite challenges such as digital infrastructure gaps and bureaucratic resistance, the study concludes that sustained multi-actor engagement is essential for building inclusive, future-ready governance. The replication of this collaborative model in other sectors offers significant transformative potential.
