Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of high school teachers in developing innovative learning tools based on the Independent Curriculum. The training took the form of a one-day intensive workshop at Raudlatul Jannah An Nur Darek Islamic High School in Central Lombok, and was attended by 15 teachers from various subject groups. The training materials covered the concept of innovative teaching tools, 21st-century learning models (such as Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning), and practical lessons and digital teaching media development using Canva and Wordwall. Formative evaluation was conducted through participant observation and the quality of the products produced by participants. Results showed a significant increase in teacher understanding and skills, with all participants able to develop lesson plans that included achievement-based learning objectives, active learning, and HOTS-based assessments. Furthermore, the training fostered positive attitudes toward the use of technology in learning and the importance of contextual instructional design. This training demonstrated that a practical and participatory approach can effectively improve teacher competency in a short time. This training model is worthy of replication as a continuous professional development effort for teachers in various regions.

Abstract

This community service program aims to revitalize the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) among the people of Sembahe Village, Deli Serdang, through a psychoeducational approach rooted in social psychology. The activity adopted a Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, emphasizing collaboration between program implementers and the community in identifying problems and designing solutions. The intervention was conducted through interactive lecture sessions exploring prosocial behavior, social norms, and group identity theory. Twenty participants, including local residents and village officials, actively engaged in discussions, shared experiences, and reflected on the declining practice of gotong royong. The results of the activity demonstrated an increased collective awareness of the importance of gotong royong, not only as a cultural heritage but also as part of social identity and community solidarity. The program successfully catalyzed behavioral change by fostering emotional and cognitive engagement with shared values. The commitment of village leaders to revitalizing communal activities reflects the positive impact of this intervention. These results demonstrate that psychology education can be a strategic tool for strengthening collective values and building social resilience in rural communities undergoing changes due to modernization.

Abstract

Ulcer or gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach caused by increased stomach acid or mucosal irritation which is generally triggered by irregular diet, stress, smoking habits, and alcohol consumption. This activity aims to increase public understanding of the use of syrup-form pharmaceutical preparations in gastritis therapy. The webinar was held online through Zoom Meeting with a total of 32 participants, consisting of 24 women and 8 men who are students of the University of August 17, 1945 Jakarta, as well as the general public. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test using five multiple-choice questions that measured understanding of the advantages of syrup preparations, the function of active substances (antacids and sucralfates), the selection of preparations in dysphagia patients, the mechanism of action, and the components of the formulation. The results of the post-test showed an increase in participants' understanding, including 100% of participants answered correctly about the advantages of syrup preparations over tablets, 88% understood the function of antacids, 92% knew the mechanism of action of sucralfate, and 76% understood the selection of preparations in dysphagia patients. Thus, this activity has proven to be effective in increasing participants' knowledge about the use of syrup preparations for the treatment of gastritis. Emphasis is needed on the aspect of preparing preparation for dysphagia patients and an understanding of the components of the formulation.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) aims to increase the capacity of the apparatus of Parit Keladi Village, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency, in utilizing digital technology to support public services. The analysis of the situation shows that the village website has not been optimally managed, and the village does not have an official social media account, so the distribution of information and public services has not been effective. The implementation method uses an educational-participatory approach through training, simulation, and direct mentoring. Materials include website management, creative content creation strategies for social media, digital communication techniques, and information security. The results of PkM activities show an increase in the ability of village officials to manage websites which now contain profiles, agendas, financial reports, and online administrative services. The village's Instagram account has been successfully activated with relevant and interesting content, as well as increasing community interaction through digital channels. It is recommended to establish a sustainable village digital channel management team, periodic digital literacy training, integration of websites with online administration services, collaboration with the community in content production, and periodic evaluation of the performance of digital channels to maintain the effectiveness of public services.

Abstract

The development of children's creativity in rural areas faces challenges, especially the limited facilities and the lack of structured productive activities. West Tanah Embet Hamlet has local potential in the form of patchwork waste from household businesses, but it has not been utilized optimally. Training on making patchwork brooches is carried out to increase children's skills, creativity, confidence, and awareness of the use of waste into valuable products as a medium of creative education and introduction to entrepreneurship from an early age. The methods used include initial observation to identify needs and potentials (with SWOT analysis), communication with related parties, direct training, practice, and evaluation of the results. This activity was carried out for 6 meetings involving 23 children aged 7-12 years. The results showed that 45% of participants were able to complete at least 2 brooches with floral and butterfly designs, 70% of participants were able to cut fabrics according to patterns, come up with spontaneous innovations in color combinations and embellishments, and show improved aesthetic and cooperation skills. This program not only provides technical skills in sewing, but also succeeds in adding ideas, forming a creative and collaborative character that can produce a variety of unique products, and has the potential to be developed as a creative economy model based on local resources.

Abstract

The use of carbon fiber (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) in the automotive component industry produces significant waste, reaching 15-20% of the total raw materials. The community service partner, BPM Carbon Works Semarang, previously handled this waste by incineration, which caused environmental and economic problems. This community service program aims to address these problems through the application of Forged Carbon Compression Split Molding (FCCSM) technology. The methods used include lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and assistance in designing two- and four-part split molds, as well as processing carbon fiber waste into commercially valuable products. The results of the activity show that the amount of partner waste is reduced from 20% to 5%, and partner understanding increases significantly with N-Gain scores of 0.73 and 0.75 (high category). In addition, partner profits increase by 15%. This program not only solves environmental problems, but also empowers the partner's economy, in line with the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs). Thus, it can be concluded that FCCSM technology is effective in achieving a zero-waste industry, and ongoing mentoring and collaboration with local governments are recommended.

Abstract

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional problem that hinders human development in Indonesia due to its multidimensional impacts on cognitive aspects, economic productivity, and the social well-being of communities. To address this challenge, the Thematic Community Service program (KKN-T) of Alma Ata University in Debong Kulon Village was developed through a synergistic three-pillar model that integrates family nutrition education, literacy and utilization of local food, as well as household economic empowerment based on nutrition gardens as a holistic strategy to combat stunting. This program employs a community-based participatory approach through four systematic stages, problem identification, participatory planning, intervention implementation, and reflective evaluation, to ensure the program’s relevance and sustainability. Empirical results show a 23.5% increase in family nutrition knowledge, an 87% rise in participation in community health posts (posyandu), and 82% of households successfully managing nutrition gardens independently. Scientifically, these findings affirm the effectiveness of participatory communication, social learning, and local food self-sufficiency in fostering sustainable nutritional behavior change. The main conclusion indicates that the triple-pillar empowerment model has proven effective in strengthening social resilience and ensuring the sustainability of interventions, while also offering an adaptive replication model for urban and semi-urban areas within the framework of equitable and sustainable community development.
