Abstract

This research examines the impact of social media on political communication and public polarization. Social media, initially designed to foster social interactions, has become a political arena, leading to conflicts of interest through controversial campaign content for the 2024 presidential election. The study focuses on the emergence of public division into camps supporting each candidate, such as Anis-Muhaimin, Prabowo-Gibran, and Ganjar-Mahfud. Each candidate has different narrative content themes, such as change movements, Jokowi's program, and Indonesia's excellence. This unique phenomenon continues until the inauguration of the elected president. Tensions between the losing and winning camps continue on social media timelines. The research uses a netnographic method with a qualitative approach. Social media enables rapid and extensive political communication, but concerns have arisen about ethical communication violations committed by its users. Content displayed by candidates or their success teams can create an echo chamber, reinforcing voters' views. The emergence of consultants, influencers, and political buzzers further exacerbates this issue, fostering division among societal groups.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged reforms in land administration in Indonesia, one of which is the application of electronic certificates as evidence of land rights. The use of electronic certificates aims to increase efficiency, transparency, and legal certainty in the process of proving in court. This study aims to analyse the legal validity and practical aspects of the use of electronic certificates in the process of proving land rights according to civil procedural law. The study is based on several key regulations, including the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA), Government Regulation (PP) No. 24 of 1997, PP No. 18 of 2021, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Regulation (Permen ATR/BPN) No. 1 of 2021, and the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE). The results show that electronic certificates are legally recognised as valid evidence in court. These certificates have the same evidentiary power as physical certificates and can be used as a strong evidentiary tool in land rights disputes. In addition, the electronic land registration process enables more effective recording and management of land data, reduces the potential for certificate forgery, and increases the efficiency and security of the evidentiary process in court. However, in practice, the use of electronic certificates still faces several challenges, such as limited digital infrastructure, protection of personal data, and resistance from people who are used to physical certificates. Another obstacle is the doubt of some parties regarding the evidentiary power of electronic certificates in court. Therefore, socialisation efforts, strengthening regulations, and increasing technological and infrastructure capacity are needed to support the optimal implementation of electronic certificates.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore opportunities and challenges by incorporating and implementing technology in the social studies learning process at the elementary school level. In this research process, the application of qualitative methods and case study approaches is used. One of the goals is to identify the benefits and barriers and the extent to which teachers and students are coping with them. Data sources are taken by conducting interviews, observations, and interviews with teachers, and relevant documentation. Afterwards, the authors conclude that technology allows greater access to learning resources, supports interactive learning and cooperative learning, young students have knowledge about experiments, and many others. However, there are also several challenges in its implementation. These challenges include infrastructure and access to technology tools, training and partnership development for teachers, and digitalization imbalances that exacerbate educational imbalances. This research highlights the importance of appropriate strategies and policies in overcoming these challenges and provides recommendations in optimizing elementary school social studies learning technology. Thus, this research is also expected to be able to provide understanding and become one of the references in developing learning by using technology, especially in social studies learning.

Abstract

In This study, the researchers delved into this based on the Z generation in Traditional Dayah through a case study of Three Dayah in Three districts in Aceh. The researchers figured out whether they perceived the same beliefs as their elder scholars. What did they think about their Acehnese Heroines’ contribution and struggle? To investigate balanced data, a purposive sampling method was applied to choose one female and one male student from each Dayah: six participants in total. The participants were interviewed one by one and added voice notes usage to facilitate their sensitive thoughts. The data was analyzed using thematic analysis. Nevertheless, the perception of all participants was not fully categorized into one fix terminology as they did not tend to agree to all characteristic in one terminology. Of six participants, 3 participants had a more conservative perception but two of them did not agree on second characteristic of conservative, two others were fully progressive as they agreed to all characteristics of progressive. Lastly, only one shared “almost moderate” one, even though she strongly argued about the first characteristic of moderate. In the same time, all of them have a positive perception of the Acehnese heroines, even though three of them were doubtful about “the appearance of the heroines whose hairs were unveiled.” Even though they shared the same educational background in traditional Dayah, the perception and daily practice of their family also strongly influenced their perception.

Abstract

Mass media as news producers can be classified into two groups: incorporated and unincorporated mass media. Although both can produce news with the same topic according to actual conditions, the narratives built are not the same. In response to this, readers' criticality is needed to sort out objective and not tendentious information so that the information does not trigger social conflict in the community. This study aims to compare the characteristics of news discourse of the two mass media groups with a critical discourse analysis approach within the framework of media literacy. Data on legal mass media is based on data on the dewanpers.or.id page. The results show that there are obvious differences from the point of view of linguistic features between the news of digital mass media with legal status and those without legal status. This research is expected to be a policy reference for the government in fostering mass media and society.
