Abstract

The phenomenon of social media influencers on Instagram displaying ideal bodies has given rise to the concept of "body goals" and certain beauty standards, which encourage early adults to modify their appearance to gain social recognition through online self-presentation. The objective of this study is to ascertain the correlation between body image and online self-presentation on Instagram among early adults in Jakarta. The present study employed a quantitative correlational approach, with 112 participants aged 18-25 years selected through purposive sampling. The instruments employed in this study were the Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) and the Self Presentation on Facebook Questionnaire (SPFBQ). The collected data were then subjected to rigorous analysis, which included assessments of normality, linearity, and Spearman correlation tests. The results of the study indicate five positive and three negative relationships between body image dimensions and aspects of online self-presentation. A substantial relationship is identified between affection toward body image and real self, suggesting that individuals who experience more negative feelings toward their bodies exhibit a reduced propensity to present themselves authentically on Instagram.

Abstract

Sustainable education serves as a fundamental pillar in building an inclusive, adaptive, and competitive society in the face of global changes. The Indonesian government addresses these challenges through the seven strategic directions outlined in the 2020–2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). This article aims to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of these policy directions as part of national education reform. A descriptive-qualitative approach was employed using policy analysis based on official documents and sectoral policy reviews. The findings reveal that despite the government’s strong commitment to educational transformation, challenges remain in equitable access, teacher quality, curriculum relevance, and cross-sectoral collaboration. The evaluation concludes that the effectiveness of the policy is significantly influenced by consistent planning, sufficient funding, and strong synergy between central and regional governments, along with educational institutions as the primary implementers. Sustainable reform requires a holistic approach and long-term impact orientation to ensure meaningful and measurable progress in the education sector.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the narrative structure of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone through the lens of Christopher Vogler’s twelve-stage Hero’s Journey framework, which itself is a modern adaptation of Joseph Campbell’s monomyth theory. Employing qualitative descriptive analysis, the research maps Harry Potter’s development as a mythic hero, beginning with his oppressed life in the non-magical world and culminating in his personal transformation through trials, mentorship, sacrifice, and revelation. The study explores how each stage of Vogler’s structure such as the Call to Adventure, Crossing the Threshold, The Ordeal, and the Return with the Elixir is represented in Harry’s journey. The study also analyzes how supporting characters fulfill archetypal roles like Mentor, Threshold Guardian, Ally, and Shadow, as informed by Jungian psychology. The findings highlight that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is more than a fantasy narrative; it is a psychologically resonant tale of growth and identity shaped by universal storytelling structures.
