Abstract

The Family Planning (KB) program has a role in reducing the population's birth rate so that fertility and birth rates can be controlled. Regulating the spacing of pregnancies, birth spacing, and determining the number of children in a family are expected to reduce population growth. The family planning program was initiated by the government to reduce the population explosion. Many factors influence couples of childbearing age in choosing the right contraception. For example, the weight factor changes due to use, and experiencing allergies. Some of the mothers also set the time of birth. Implants are very effective but still quite low. Where the implant can be removed at any time, is not dangerous, and does not affect sexual activity. Service activities are carried out through lectures, discussions, and education methods. The number of participants in this PkM activity was 10 health workers at the Gonting Malaha Health Center. The activity begins with the provision of pretest and posttest which are presented in written form and are of course related to the material to be taught. The results of PkM activities through education show that it is the low knowledge factor that causes couples not to choose implant contraception, namely 60%. Knowledge, education, and parity factors influence couples in choosing implant contraception with a p-value less than 0.05. PkM participant post-test scores always increased after being given education with the highest increase of 25% and the lowest increase of 20%. The average increase in knowledge of all PkM participants increased to 23% when compared to the beginning. So it can be stated that this PKM activity has succeeded in educating PKM participants in knowing the factors of partners in choosing implant contraception.

Abstract

Background: Overweight is a physical condition caused by excessive accumulation of fat in the body due to an imbalance between food intake consumed and energy expended during bodily activities. Low physical activity has the potential to lead to obesity, especially when it starts as a child. The activities of children and adolescents are currently more playing gadgets and watching TV so that they have the potential to cause obesity. Overweight is a serious problem in Indonesia. This is because obesity will increase the risk of cardiovascular disease such as enlarged blood vessels, heart failure, stroke, fatty liver and hardening of the liver. Complications that can occur in overweight are heart attack, type II diabetes, stroke, hypertension, sleep apnea and breathing problems. To overcome the problematic consequences of being overweight are yin yoga and plank exercises. Yin yoga is currently one of the exercises that can reduce levels of fat in the body (burn bad calories in the body), relax the mind, and control breathing. Meanwhile, plank exercise is used to increase muscle strength. Plank movements help strengthen the muscles of the arms, shoulders, abdomen, legs, can also increase stability, and can burn up to 12 kcal of calories per round (healthy). This activity was carried out by physiotherapy students at the Lubuk Pakam Medistra Health Institute in the 2023 program with the aim of introducing the benefits of Yin yoga and plank exercises in overcoming and preventing the incidence of overweight among Physiotherapy students at the Lubuk Pakam Medistra Health Institute in 2023.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by increased blood glucose levels as a result of decreased insulin secretion, insulin action or both. This can cause long-term damage such as vascular complications and circulatory disorders. Metabolic disorders are often associated with changes in lifestyle and diet. Diabetes mellitus can arise due to defects in the effect of insulin in tissues, and most of this occurs in patients who are overweight. The shift from a traditional lifestyle to a modern lifestyle will increase the risk of developing diabetes mellitus. Lifestyle in this community service includes diet, smoking habits, consuming alcohol, and physical activity. Lifestyle in patients with diabetes mellitus can help manage and control glucose in the blood. The purpose of this community service is to provide counseling about lifestyle on changes in glucose values ??in the blood of diabetes mellitus patients. This community service uses a method with activities starting from the stage of providing material on the concept of diabetes mellitus, lifestyle, management, checking blood glucose values ??and evaluating the results of implementation in diabetes mellitus patients. Abstract

Gout arthritis is a disease caused by impaired purine metabolism resulting in excessive uric acid (hyperuricemia). It is said to be hyperuricemia if the uric acid level is more than 6.0 mg/dl in women and 7.0 mg/dl in men, which is measured based on blood serum. To overcome the problem of hyperuricemia, it is necessary to apply a low-purine diet, especially for elderly people with gout arthritis. The goal of a low-purine diet is to prevent monosodium urate crystals from accumulating in the joints. The implementation method used by the PkM team in collaboration with Puskesmas Batang Kuis partners and elderly people with gout arthritis consists of 4 stages. Based on the results of the activities of the 41 community service participants, frequency characteristics were obtained based on the uric acid value of the elderly at the Puskesmas Batang Kuis, namely the majority of gout categories in the elderly, namely the 7.6-9.0 category, as many as 25 people (61%). From the results of the activity it was also found that the number of elderly women with gout arthritis was more (28 people) while there were 13 men. The results of an evaluation of the increase in knowledge of 41 participants showed that the majority of elderly knowledge was categorized as good as many as 27 people (66%) participants with good knowledge. The low knowledge and understanding and awareness of the elderly regarding a low purine diet is the cause of the high number of gout arthritis sufferers. So we need a program that educates and raises public awareness and needs to monitor diet in the elderly.

Abstract

Malnutrition is a nutritional problem that is still quite a lot in Indonesia and still really needs to be addressed so it doesn't have negative impacts that are detrimental to both the toddlers themselves or their families and the country. The prevalence of malnutrition in Indonesia is still high and needs to be addressed and prevented so that the number does not increase. One of the factors that can cause a toddler to be malnourished is the mother's lack of knowledge regarding well balanced nutrition to give to toddlers. Therefore, in this service, balanced nutrition socialization is carried out for mothers of toddlers in an effort to prevent malnutrition in toddlers. This community service activity was carried out at the Rugun Midwife Independent Work Practice Clinic on May 10-16 2023. This community service activity was carried out in the form of socialization and was carried out in several stages, namely planning, education and final evaluation. The results of this activity show that mothers under five are very enthusiastic in participating in activities and listening to what is conveyed by the speakers. This is also shown by the results of the pre-test and post-test which show that the mother's knowledge after being given socialization increases in a better direction. It is necessary to carry out further analysis related to changes in attitudes and behavior of mothers under five in an effort to prevent malnutrition in toddlers at the Rugun Midwife Independent Work Practice Clinic.

Abstract

Every company tries to provide the best service to its customers. Various ways and efforts are made by the company to make it happen. However, not infrequently many companies are not aware that the workload given to their employees is above normal limits which causes employees to experience stress. Job stress occurs because there are sources or work stressors that cause individuals to experience excessive pressure imposed on them due to too many demands, obstacles or opportunities. Employees are required to work faster, more diligently and more tenaciously to achieve the company's business targets. Employee productivity will decrease when employees experience stress. If employees experience stress, it will ultimately damage performance within the company itself. In order for the stress experienced by employees to be well controlled, it is necessary to carry out stress management. Coping is an attempt to deal with a problem experienced by someone. Coping that everyone does will be different. This community service activity aims to explain tips on managing stress that occurs in every employee. PT. Pelita Adi Pratama Tanjung Balai was the target of this community service activity. This activity was carried out in March 2023 with a total of 51 participants. The method of implementing this community service is by providing direct education to employees regarding tips on managing stress through presentation of power points that have been prepared by the team. In carrying out this activity, the participants were very enthusiastic about the delivery of the material provided by the team. It is expected that every company pays attention to the workload given to employees so that worker productivity remains good and when the workload given is excessive, rewards need to be given so that workers remain happy and not stressed even though the burden given is excessive.
