Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of situational leadership in the development of a Qur’an memorization (tahfidz) program, focusing on leadership practices, program management, and their contribution to program sustainability and quality improvement. The study employed a qualitative case study approach involving the principal, curriculum vice principal, program coordinator, tahfidz teachers, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that situational leadership was implemented adaptively through four leadership styles: telling, selling, participating, and delegating. These approaches were applied across the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages of the tahfidz program according to teachers’ readiness and institutional needs. The study further demonstrates that situational leadership significantly contributed to strengthening teacher motivation, professionalism, collaboration, and program sustainability, which ultimately enhanced the overall quality of the educational institution. The findings imply that adaptive leadership practices are essential for supporting the continuous development of religious education programs in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze classroom management strategies implemented by teachers to improve student discipline during the learning process. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of classroom management practices. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving school principals, teachers, student affairs staff, and students. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source triangulation, method triangulation, and member checking. The findings revealed that classroom management strategies significantly contributed to improving student discipline by establishing classroom rules, providing supervision, motivating students, and applying interpersonal approaches to create an orderly and conducive learning environment. Effective classroom management was supported by teacher consistency, assertiveness, and humanistic communication. Preventive approaches through guidance and motivation before learning activities also strengthened students’ awareness of discipline. However, several challenges were identified, including differences in student characteristics, inconsistent rule implementation among teachers, and peer environmental influences. The study implies that effective classroom management requires a balance between disciplinary enforcement and persuasive-communicative approaches to foster positive student behavior and support successful learning outcomes.

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in developing students’ academic competencies and character in response to contemporary social and technological challenges. This study aimed to examine the implementation of the axiological values of science in learning and explore their contribution to student character formation. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through observations and in-depth interviews involving school leaders, teachers, students, and parents, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that axiological values are integrated into the educational process through classroom learning, habitual practices, teacher role modeling, and a values-oriented school culture. These practices contribute significantly to the development of students’ honesty, responsibility, discipline, cooperation, social awareness, and religiosity. The study also identifies several supporting factors, including teacher commitment, leadership support, a positive school culture, and parental involvement, while differences in family backgrounds and the influence of digital technology emerge as key challenges. The findings imply that integrating the axiological values of science into learning can serve as an effective strategy for fostering sustainable character development and promoting the ethical application of knowledge in students’ daily lives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of Tahsin extracurricular programs in optimizing students’ Qur’anic reading skills. The research focuses on the processes of planning, implementation, evaluation, and the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing program effectiveness. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving school leaders, Tahsin instructors, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the management of the Tahsin extracurricular program has been implemented through systematic planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The program is conducted regularly using talaqqi, drill, and small-group learning methods, which contribute to improvements in students’ Qur’anic reading abilities, particularly in tajwid application, makharij al-huruf accuracy, and reading fluency. Program effectiveness is supported by leadership commitment, teacher competence, student motivation, and a strong religious culture within the school environment. However, limitations in teaching staff, restricted instructional time, and insufficient Qur’anic reading habits at home remain significant challenges. The study implies that effective management of Tahsin extracurricular activities plays a crucial role in enhancing students’ Qur’anic literacy and strengthening a Qur’anic culture within educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how prophetic leadership is constructed and practiced within the socio-cultural dynamics of Islamic boarding schools and to develop an integrative conceptual framework based on empirical evidence. A qualitative research design with an extended ethnographic approach was employed, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving leaders, teachers, senior students, and administrative staff, and analyzed using thematic coding. The findings reveal that prophetic leadership is manifested through four interrelated dimensions: spiritual legitimacy, exemplary behavior, transformational negotiation, and cultural reproduction. Spiritual legitimacy is constructed through collective religious validation, while exemplary behavior functions as a medium of moral socialization within the institutional community. In addition, leaders continuously negotiate between traditional religious values and organizational transformation demands. This study proposes an integrative framework in which spirituality is positioned not merely as a moral foundation but as an active instrument of leadership practice. Theoretically, the study contributes to leadership scholarship by offering a context-sensitive model of spiritual leadership, while practically it provides insights for strengthening leadership strategies in faith-based educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of SMART-Q, or Spiritual Morality and Reflective Tahfidz Qur’an, and its role in strengthening Islamic values among junior high school students. This research used a descriptive qualitative method involving the principal, teachers, and students as informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Source and technique triangulation were used to ensure data validity. The findings show that SMART-Q was implemented systematically through the 3T 1M method, consisting of taqrir, tafahum, tasmi’, and murojaah. The program was also supported by Qur’an memorization submission and murojaah kubro activities. SMART-Q had a positive impact on students’ religious behavior, especially in improving morality, worship consistency, discipline, and self-control. The study implies that integrating Qur’an memorization, moral guidance, and self-reflection can serve as an effective strategy for developing students’ Islamic character in secondary education.

Abstract

The e-commerce industry continues to show significant growth, accompanied by increasingly intense competition among platforms. However, some platforms face challenges such as declining traffic and user engagement, despite maintaining a large market share. This study aims to analyze the effect of gamification on purchase intention, with user engagement as a mediating variable and gender as a moderating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach through an online survey of users engaging with gamification features on e-commerce platforms. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0. The results indicate that gamification has a positive and significant effect on user engagement but a negative and significant effect on purchase intention. User engagement has a very strong positive effect on purchase intention and is proven to mediate the relationship between gamification and purchase intention. Meanwhile, gender was not found to moderate this relationship. These findings underscore the importance of user engagement as a key factor driving consumer purchase intention. The study’s implications suggest that platform managers should develop gamification strategies that create meaningful engagement integrated with transactional activities to enhance users’ purchase intention.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of lifestyle, financial constraints, and brand image on premium smartphone purchase decisions among Generation Z students, addressing the paradox of continued purchasing despite limited financial resources. Data were collected from 169 students meeting inclusion criteria and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling via SmartPLS 4.0 to examine causal relationships among variables. The findings reveal that lifestyle, financial limitations, and brand image simultaneously exert significant positive effects on purchase decisions, with brand image emerging as the most influential factor, while financial limitations do not act as a strong barrier. The results suggest that Generation Z consumers prioritize social identity and lifestyle alignment over financial concerns when making premium purchase decisions. Implications for marketing include the importance of reinforcing brand perception, creating lifestyle-oriented campaigns, and leveraging social recognition as a motivator. These insights provide a more holistic understanding of consumption behavior in digital-native populations and can guide strategies to enhance engagement with young consumers in premium product markets.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct an integrative policy evaluation framework for Islamic education management by combining Daniel Stufflebeam’s Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) model with the principles of Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah. The study employs a qualitative library research method through the collection, review, and critical analysis of primary and secondary literature related to public policy evaluation and the philosophy of Islamic education. The findings reveal that conventional evaluation models predominantly emphasize administrative compliance, efficiency, and measurable outputs, while paying limited attention to spiritual, ethical, and societal dimensions that constitute the core objectives of Islamic education. To address this gap, the study develops a modified CIPP framework that evaluates context, input, process, and product dimensions through the lens of the five essential objectives of Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah: protection of religion, intellect, life, lineage, and wealth. The integration of these dimensions transforms educational evaluation from a rigid administrative mechanism into a strategic instrument for promoting institutional quality, public benefit, and sustainable development. The study implies that policymakers, administrators, and evaluators can utilize this framework to conduct more comprehensive, value-oriented, and contextually relevant evaluations of Islamic educational institutions.
