In addressing the terrorism crisis, communication is the key to minimizing fear and fostering community solidarity. This study aims to explore effective crisis communication strategies in responding to terrorism threats. The main focus of the research is to understand how communication messages can be designed to reduce fear and rally support and solidarity among the community in the face of a terrorism crisis. The research method used is a qualitative study with a content analysis approach of various information sources such as policy documents, mass media, and interviews with crisis communication experts. These data are analyzed to identify effective communication strategies in a terrorism crisis situation. The findings show that communication strategies focused on delivering accurate, transparent information and providing clear guidance to the public can help reduce fear and build solidarity. Additionally, the use of narratives that emphasize values of togetherness and cooperation has also proven effective in garnering community support. The conclusion of this study is that effective crisis communication in responding to terrorism threats prioritizes clarity, accuracy of information, and the use of narratives that build solidarity. Well-planned and collaboratively executed communication strategies between the government, media, and community are key to facing communication challenges in the context of a terrorism crisis.

Abstract

The development of technology and mass media has had an impact on people's mental well-being. One of them is the increasing prevalence of mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety, which are directly related to social media use, work pressure, and the social isolation that results from digital life. The aim of this research is to examine the role of mass media in increasing awareness and access to mental health services. The research method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach, involving surveys and interviews with respondents representing various age groups and social backgrounds. Data were collected to evaluate the extent to which mass media provide accurate and educational information about mental health and facilitate access to appropriate support services. The research results show that mass media has an important role in increasing public awareness about mental health issues. Articles, television programs and online campaigns have succeeded in turning negative stigma into a broader understanding of mental health. In addition, the media also plays a role in promoting available mental health services, such as counseling and therapy, thereby increasing accessibility for individuals who need them. The conclusion of this research confirms that mass media has great potential to be an effective tool in overcoming the mental health crisis in the digital era. By providing appropriate and educational information and facilitating access to mental health services, mass media can act as an agent of positive change in an effort to improve people's mental well-being. Therefore, cooperation between the government, health institutions and mass media is very important to create a supportive environment for individuals who experience mental health problems in this digital era.

Abstract

The phenomenon of influencers in political communication has undergone development in the digital era. The use of influencers as a medium to convey political messages not only changes the paradigm of traditional communication but also creates new dynamics in the interaction between the public and political figures. The involvement of influencers in political campaigns shows great potential in influencing public opinion. This research aims to examine the role of influencers in political communication, particularly in the context of their influence on public opinion and the challenges faced in collaboration between influencers and public figures or politicians. The main focus is to understand how influencers influence political decisions and the implications of using influencers in political communication strategies. This study uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. The results show that influencers play a crucial role in shaping political narratives and influencing public opinion. Their influence is particularly evident in raising awareness of political issues and mobilizing young voters. However, the study also reveals significant challenges, including credibility issues and potential information bias that can affect public trust in the political process. The study concludes that while using influencers in political communication offers new opportunities for public engagement, it also requires a careful approach to managing the associated risks and challenges. Political parties and candidates need to choose influencers who have a wide reach and high credibility and integrity to maintain public trust and enhance the effectiveness of political communication.

Abstract

The digital era has accelerated the spread of information, including disinformation and hoaxes, which often appear in the context of political communication. This phenomenon threatens the integrity of the democratic process and the quality of information received by the public. Therefore, the importance of media literacy and fact verification has become increasingly urgent to ensure that citizens can make decisions based on accurate and reliable information. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of various media and factual literacy initiatives in reducing the influence of disinformation and hoaxes among voters. The primary focus is identifying the most effective strategies to promote a critical understanding of media content and the ability to verify facts independently. The methods used were field experiments and surveys conducted in several regions with significant variations in media literacy levels. Respondents were selected through stratified random sampling techniques and divided into a control group and an intervention group that received intensive training on media literacy. The results showed that participants who took media and factual literacy training showed significant improvements in identifying and rejecting misinformation. This group is also more critical of information sources and cross-checks facts more often before sharing content. The research conclusion states that media literacy interventions can significantly reduce the influence of disinformation and hoaxes in political communication. In-depth and continuous education is needed to strengthen citizens' abilities to face information challenges in the digital era. Furthermore, collaboration between sectors, including government, educational institutions, and the media, is important to increase awareness and media literacy skills among the wider community.

Abstract

The global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the dynamics of political communication in various countries. Governments around the world are faced with unprecedented communications challenges, where rapid and effective decisions are urgently needed to address the spread of the virus. However, the effectiveness of political communication is often hampered by lack of information, misunderstanding and public distrust. This research aims to analyze how the government communicates with the public during a health crisis and how the public responds to this communication. The primary goal is to identify effective strategies and uncover communication gaps that can serve as valuable lessons for future crises. The method used in this research is content analysis from various news sources, government reports and social media. In addition, respondents were surveyed to measure public perceptions and responses to government communications. The research results show significant variation in the effectiveness of communication strategies between countries. Countries with open, transparent and consistent communication tend to experience higher levels of public compliance and more controlled spread of the virus. Meanwhile, countries with sporadic and ambiguous communications have had difficulty managing the pandemic and faced more excellent public resistance. This research concludes that success in managing a health crisis depends not only on the policies taken but also on how the government communicates with the public. Transparency, consistency and continuity in communications have proven critical in building public trust and supporting pandemic mitigation efforts. This research provides insights that can help policymakers improve communication strategies in the future.

Abstract

Parents play a crucial role in their children's lives, providing support in both joyful moments and challenging situations, such as the post-disaster conditions currently experienced by families in Lere Huntara. In such circumstances, effective parenting strategies are essential to help child survivors build resilience, enabling them to adapt and accept their current situation without being overwhelmed by it. However, findings from this study indicate that parents in Lere Huntara lack specific parenting strategies to foster resilience in their children. This is largely due to environmental limitations, including inadequate living conditions and the lack of proper play facilities for children. As a result, many parents in the refugee camp become more neglectful in their approach to raising their children, unintentionally hindering their emotional and psychological development. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as verbatim transcription, tabulation, and documentation. The study specifically focuses on parenting strategies for child survivors aged 7-12 years in Huntara Lere. The research subjects consist of parents residing in Lere Village, West Palu District, Palu City, where the disaster impact was particularly severe. The implications of this research highlight the urgent need for parents to adopt appropriate parenting strategies tailored to the needs of child survivors. By providing proper guidance and emotional support, parents can help their children develop resilience, ensuring they are better equipped to cope with the challenges posed by the disaster.

Abstract

The rising prevalence of anxiety and depression has led to an increasing interest in alternative therapeutic methods, especially those rooted in spiritual and religious practices. Quranic therapy, based on recitation and reflection upon the verses of the Quran, has been increasingly recognized for its potential in treating mental health conditions. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of Quranic therapy in alleviating anxiety and depression. The study utilizes a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. Participants were exposed to a structured regimen of Quranic recitation and reflection for a period of six weeks. Psychological assessments were conducted before and after the intervention, including scales for measuring anxiety and depression. The findings indicate a significant reduction in symptoms of both anxiety and depression, with participants reporting improvements in their overall emotional well-being. Moreover, qualitative feedback highlighted the spiritual connection and calming effects experienced by participants during Quranic therapy sessions. The study concludes that Quranic therapy can serve as a complementary approach in mental health treatment, promoting spiritual healing alongside traditional psychological therapies. Further research is needed to understand the mechanisms behind this therapeutic effect and its long-term benefits.

Abstract

Islamic journalism operates within a framework that integrates ethical and religious principles, presenting distinct challenges in maintaining objectivity. The tension between upholding journalistic neutrality and adhering to Islamic ethical guidelines raises questions about bias, credibility, and professional standards in Islamic media practices. This study aims to analyze the complexities of objectivity in Islamic journalism by examining its theoretical foundations, ethical boundaries, and practical applications in contemporary media landscapes. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilizes content analysis and in-depth interviews with journalists from various Islamic media outlets. The findings reveal that while Islamic journalism strives for truthfulness and fairness, it often navigates ideological influences and societal expectations that shape reporting styles. Additionally, structural limitations, editorial policies, and political factors further challenge the realization of absolute objectivity. This study concludes that while complete neutrality may be unattainable, Islamic journalism can enhance credibility by promoting balanced reporting, ethical transparency, and adherence to professional journalism standards. These insights contribute to the discourse on media ethics, highlighting the need for frameworks that align Islamic values with universal journalistic principles.
