Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the Quantum Teaching model TANDUR (Tumbuhkan–Alami–Namai–Demonstrasikan–Ulangi–Rayakan) on students’ motivation and psychomotor skills in learning the area of plane figures (triangles, squares, and rectangles) among fifth-grade elementary school students. A quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was employed involving 50 students from two public elementary schools in Pasuruan Regency, East Java. The experimental group (n = 24) received instruction using the TANDUR model, while the control group (n = 26) followed conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through motivation questionnaires based on Keller’s ARCS model and psychomotor observation rubrics, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, normalized gain (N-gain), and independent samples t-test. Results showed a statistically significant improvement in both motivation (p < 0.05; N-gain = 0.68, moderate) and psychomotor skills (p < 0.01; N-gain = 0.73, high) in the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings suggest that the TANDUR-based Quantum Teaching model effectively enhances affective and psychomotor domains by engaging students in experiential, contextual, and celebratory learning activities aligned with Piaget’s concrete operational stage. This study contributes to the development of student-centered mathematics pedagogy in primary education.

Abstract

Work accidents can occur in any work activity. Work accidents can be caused by worker negligence or inappropriate tools used in a procedure. The aim of this research is to identify the possibility of work accidents occurring so that they can be prevented. This research uses the HIRARC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control) process to identify hazards, calculate threats, and manage impacts to prevent industrial accidents. This research was conducted at Tunas Toyota Balaraja which is located on Jl. Raya Serang No. Km 24, Balaraja, Kec. Balaraja, Tangerang Regency, a company that operates in the field of car sales and vehicle servicing. The research process took 40 working days and saw firsthand all the activities at Tunas Toyota Balaraja.  Tunas Toyota Balaraja is a company that sells and repairs four-wheeled cars. Car maintenance is a task that is carried out when the car is damaged. This task is not performed every day and only incidentally if the car breaks down. Car maintenance can be divided into three categories: mechanical maintenance, interior, and repairs. The results obtained in this research indicate that Tunas Toyota Balaraja has gaps in the risk identification process due to a lack of knowledge about work safety and the results of the data obtained show that every work activity in the Tunas Toyota Balaraja workshop has a high level of work risk. Because the activities here are directly related to materials that contain chemicals such as oil, battery water, radiator water, brake fluid. direct contact with gasoline, this risk of course causes economic losses. Therefore, all mechanics strive to use complete PPE on all high-risk work. Vehicle maintenance activities are divided into two activities, namely car repairs if problems occur and periodic maintenance activities based on the distance traveled by the car. In this activity there are 9 high risks, 7 medium risks, and 1 low risk. The high risk comes from potential dangers such as slipping, head injuries, scalded hands due to direct contact with hot oil, electric shock when charging the battery. Control in the form of eliminating all forms of work hazards, technical supervision and training, administrative control in the form of providing funnels when pouring oil to avoid oil spills and PPE by wearing rubber gloves. Moderate risk is caused by eye irritation and hand injuries from sharp objects. Risk control is carried out in the form of elimination, engineering and management techniques in the form of mechanical safety guarantees and pre-work safety meetings.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the challenges faced by Indonesian language teachers in developing literary literacy among senior high school students in Sungai Penuh City during the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through a Google Form–based questionnaire distributed to Indonesian language teachers at the senior high school level. The research instrument was designed using a Likert scale to capture teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of literary literacy in schools. The findings indicate that teachers encounter several major challenges in developing literary literacy, including limited instructional time, teachers’ readiness to design creative and contextual literary learning, students’ low interest in reading literary works, and limited availability of literary teaching materials. Limited instructional time emerged as the most dominant challenge, followed by teachers’ need for training and mentoring in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. These findings suggest that the development of literary literacy within the Merdeka Curriculum requires sustained support, including the enhancement of teachers’ competencies, the provision of relevant teaching materials, and the adoption of instructional strategies that can increase students’ interest and engagement. This study is expected to contribute to the development of literary learning at the secondary school level.

Abstract

This research explored the application of the Interactive Reading Approach (IRA) in the teaching of narrative texts to eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 30 Bengkulu Tengah. The study was carried out in response to students’ low reading comprehension and the lack of active interaction during English lessons. It aimed to portray how IRA was implemented in the classroom, analyze patterns of interaction between teachers and students, and identify challenges encountered  throughout the learning process. Using a qualitative descriptive design, the data were collected  through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with both teachers and students, and relevant documents, and were analyzed through coding, thematic analysis, and triangulation. The results indicated that IRA was conducted through a series of pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading activities, which promoted students’ active involvement in interpreting narrative texts through discussion and guided support from the teacher. Although challenges such as limited vocabulary mastery, uneven student participation, and limited learning resources were encountered, the findings suggest that the Interactive Reading Approach contributed positively to classroom interaction and supported students’ reading comprehension.

Abstract

This study examines the basis for judges' considerations in issuing decisions on cases of violence or threats of violence that force minors to engage in sexual intercourse, with a focus on Decision Number 433/Pid.Sus/2022/Pn. Kot. The background of this study was driven by the rise in cases of sexual violence against children which often place children in vulnerable positions due to unequal power relations and dependence on adults. The case raised in this study highlights how psychological coercion is used by perpetrators to control underage victims. The problems in this study are: the factors causing perpetrators to commit crimes of violence or threats of violence that force underage victims to engage in sexual intercourse with them or with others based on the study of decision number 433/Pid.Sus/2022/PN. Kot. and the basis for judges' considerations in issuing decision number 433/Pid.Sus/2022/PN. Kot. The research method uses a normative juridical and empirical juridical approach. The normative legal approach is pursued through a literature review, examining relevant laws, doctrines, and legal literature. Meanwhile, the empirical approach involves interviews with parties involved or directly familiar with the case to obtain a factual picture of the application of the law in the field. The results of the study indicate that the causal factors of this crime originate from internal aspects in the form of deviant sexual desires from the perpetrator, as well as external aspects including the influence of the social environment, weak moral control, and the negative impact of technological developments. Regarding the judge's considerations, it was found that the decision was taken based on two main bases. Juridically, the judge assessed the fulfillment of the criminal elements in Article 81 paragraph (1) of the Child Protection Law by emphasizing the existence of psychological violence and pressure that made the victim helpless. Non-juridically, the judge considered the deep trauma experienced by the victim as well as the existence of peace efforts and compensation from the defendant's family as mitigating factors in imposing sanctions. The recommendation from this study is that the government and society should continue to focus on strengthening sexual education in schools, increasing the role of families and communities in building awareness of ethics and the impact of sexual violence, and disseminating correct information to the public.
