Abstract

Nagari division is a local government policy aimed at improving the effectiveness of governance and accelerating public services to the community. However, in practice, regional division policies can also create various administrative problems at the community level. This condition occurred in Javanese transmigrant communities in Jorong Simpang Empat Kaplingan, which experienced changes in administrative areas following nagari division. This study aims to describe the impact of nagari division on administrative services for Javanese transmigrant communities in Jorong Simpang Empat Kaplingan and to identify various obstacles that arose in the administrative service process. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. Research informants consisted of nagari officials, nagari division teams, and the community of Jorong Simpang Empat Kaplingan. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that nagari division has a positive impact in the form of increased development focus and more targeted services. However, the division also has negative impacts, including changes in population administrative data without adequate socialization, delays in social assistance distribution, and confusion among Javanese transmigrants regarding the existence of the Nagari Customary Council. Therefore, improved policy socialization and better coordination between nagari government and the community are needed.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of self-control on academic anxiety among university students, motivated by the high academic demands faced during the transition from secondary school to higher education. During this period, students are required to adapt to a new environment, heavy academic workloads, and more independent learning systems, which may lead to academic anxiety. Academic anxiety can result in decreased concentration, excessive worry, and lower academic achievement. One factor presumed to influence academic anxiety is self-control, defined as an individual’s ability to regulate behavior, thoughts, and decision-making. Effective self-control enables students to manage academic pressures more adaptively. This study employed a quantitative method with an ex post facto approach. The sample consisted of 143 students selected through simple random sampling. The instruments used included a self-control questionnaire with 27 items and an academic anxiety questionnaire with 27 items. Data were analyzed using simple regression analysis. The results showed an Asymp. Sig value of 0.200 and an R Square value of 0.137. The regression equation indicates that self-control has a significant effect on academic anxiety, meaning that higher levels of self-control are associated with lower levels of academic anxiety.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of compensation and work motivation on employee performance at PT Bhakti Karya Distribusi Indonesia (Sawangan, Depok). The research is motivated by the need to improve human resource effectiveness in the distribution industry through appropriate compensation policies and motivational strategies. This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal research design. The sample consists of 40 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that, partially, both independent variables compensation and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, compensation and work motivation significantly influence employee performance, with a contribution of 94,3% (R² = 0.943), while the remaining 5,7% is influenced by other factors outside the model. The practical implications of this study suggest improving the compensation system and enhancing motivational programs to optimize employee performance in distribution companies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of tax knowledge, tax awareness, tax sanctions, and digital tax technology on individual taxpayer compliance in West Jakarta. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the following criteria: (1) individual taxpayers domiciled in West Jakarta and (2) those who possess a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP). This study employed a quantitative causal approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 individual taxpayers in West Jakarta. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that, simultaneously, tax knowledge, tax awareness, tax sanctions, and digital tax technology have a positive and significant effect on individual taxpayer compliance. Partially, each independent variable also has a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance. Theoretically, this study contributes by reinforcing the application of Compliance Theory in the taxation context, indicating that taxpayer compliance is influenced by knowledge, awareness, tax sanctions, and the utilization of digital technology. Practically, this study provides insights for taxpayers by showing that improving tax understanding, awareness of the importance of taxes, and the use of digital tax systems can facilitate the fulfillment of tax obligations and encourage conscious and sustainable compliance behavior, thereby avoiding tax sanctions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the weaknesses of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 79 Bengkulu City in writing narrative compositions and to identify the contributing factors. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal three main areas of weakness: content, language, and technical aspects. In terms of content, students’ narratives often lack coherent plots, underdeveloped ideas, and unclear beginnings, middles, and endings. From the language aspect, students show limited vocabulary, frequent errors in spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Technically, weaknesses are found in paragraph organization and ineffective sentence structures. These difficulties stem from internal factors, such as low motivation, limited vocabulary, and poor idea organization, as well as external factors, including monotonous teaching methods, insufficient teacher guidance, lack of family support, and the influence of environment and social media. The study highlights the need for varied teaching strategies, stronger collaboration between teachers and parents, and consistent literacy practices to improve students’ narrative writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of corporate governance in enhancing investor confidence in companies. The research method employed is a literature review using a descriptive qualitative approach, involving the analysis of several journals and secondary data sources relevant to the research topic. The results of the study indicate that the application of Corporate Governance principles such as transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and fairness can enhance a company’s credibility and strengthen investor confidence. Companies that implement Corporate Governance effectively tend to have better financial performance and a positive reputation in the market. However, some studies also indicate that the implementation of Corporate Governance does not always have a significant impact if it is merely carried out as a formality without effective implementation.

Abstract

Human trafficking is considered an extraordinary crime due to its complex and multidimensional nature, often involving organized criminal networks. This study aims to analyze judicial considerations in sentencing perpetrators of transnational exploitation in Decision Number: 567/Pid.Sus/2025/PN.Tjk and examine their relevance in terms of legal certainty, justice, and utility. The research uses normative and empirical juridical approaches, utilizing both secondary and primary data collected through library and field research, analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that judicial considerations are based on the fulfillment of all legal elements under Law Number 21 of 2007. Judges also consider the defendant’s role in the network, level of culpability, and impact on victims. These considerations reflect sentencing objectives and principles of criminal responsibility. In terms of legal certainty, the decision provides clear application of legal norms. From the perspective of justice, it balances the offender’s fault and the victim’s suffering. In terms of utility, the ruling is expected to create a deterrent effect and support prevention, although victim protection and recovery still require strengthening. It is recommended that judges consistently apply legal provisions comprehensively while prioritizing victim protection. Policymakers should enhance victim recovery mechanisms through restitution, rehabilitation, continuous assistance, and improved inter-agency coordination.
