Abstract

This research emerged from the issues faced in mathematics education in class IX.2 of SMP Negeri 6 Lubuk Basung, where a significant number of students exhibited low enthusiasm, creativity, and absorption of course materials, resulting in suboptimal learning outcomes. Therefore, to enhance student learning outcomes in mathematics, the Project-Based Learning method was implemented in class IX.2 of SMP Negeri 6 Lubuk Basung. The research results from each cycle of action taken during mathematics instruction in class IX.2 of SMP Negeri 6 Lubuk Basung using the Project-Based Learning method demonstrated improvements in both the learning process and student learning outcomes. This improvement is evident in student achievement, as the pre-cycle showed an average learning outcome of 62 with a mastery level of 53.4%. In the first cycle, student learning outcomes reached a mastery level of 63.3% with an average score of 69, while in the second cycle, a substantial improvement was observed with an average score of 82 and a mastery level of 86.6%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Project-Based Learning method enhances student learning outcomes in mathematics in class IX.2 of SMP Negeri 6 Lubuk Basung.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study presents a community engagement initiative conducted at SDN Citayam, an elementary school located in Kampung Baru RT 03/05, Desa Citayam, Kecamatan Tajur Halang, Kabupaten Bogor, West Java. The primary objective of this initiative was to provide training to educators on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence-based learning media in English language teaching. The activities encompassed both theoretical and practical aspects, elucidating the application and optimization of Artificial Intelligence-based learning media within the context of English language instruction. The participants involved in this community engagement program were the teachers teaching at SDN Citayam. The methodology employed for the training program was Community Language Learning, which fostered a collaborative environment for discussion, knowledge sharing, and reflection on the theoretical concepts and practical implications in the teaching process. This community engagement initiative was conducted during the second semester of the Academic Year 2022/2023. Keywords: Learning Media, Artificial Intelligence, English Language Teaching

Abstract

The Women Farmers Group (KWT) Bunda Atirah in Surau Gadang, Nanggalo District, Padang City, plays a significant role in enhancing family economy through various activities. This group has successfully engaged in hydroponic farming, poultry farming, and growing secondary crops. Additionally, KWT Bunda Atirah has taken steps to manage organic waste by cultivating maggots, which are used as an alternative feed in livestock and aquaculture. The demand for maggots as fish feed in Lake Maninjau reaches 2.5 tons per month, presenting an opportunity for KWT members. However, the lack of expertise and information has hindered the implementation of maggot cultivation. To address these challenges, a Community Partnership Program (PKM) with the assistance of lecturers from the Applied Biology and Biology Education Study Program of PGRI University Sumatera Barat (UPGRISBA) was initiated. The program involves providing maggot eggs, constructing maggot cages, and training KWT members in maggot cultivation. The training, attended by 23 KWT members, was well received and is expected to inspire the community to manage organic waste and generate income through maggot cultivation.

Abstract

MTs LB/A Yaketunis Yogyakarta is an inclusive educational institution specifically for blind people who have an excellent program for memorizing the Qur'an.  MTs LB/A has limited teaching materials that support the success of teaching and learning. One of the obstacles in the learning process is the low mastery of student vocabulary, especially in Indonesian, English, and Arabic learning so that it has an impact on student learning outcomes. This is because there are no braille learning books that support the learning process. The objectives of this activity are (1) providing training on increasing trilingual vocabulary, namely Indonesian, English, and Arabic in fulfilling aspects of reading, writing, speaking, and vocabulary for MTs LB/A Yaketunis Yogyakarta students; (2) Creation and application of optimal learning resources for blind students through learning modules. The methods of this activity are (a) determination of partners, conducting surveys and discourses, (c) licensing, (d) material development, module preparation, making Trilingual Language modules, Braille Trilingual Language development program manuals, Braille Games (Puzzle Beam and Braille Flashcard, (e) conducting pretests, implementing modules and games, implementing postes, (f) program evaluation. The result of this training activity is an increase in students' ability to master vocabulary Indonesian 27%, English 28%, and Arabic 37%. The realization of learning materials for Braille Trilingual Language and Braille Games modules can improve students' knowledge and skills in learning three languages.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang muncul pada anak di SD Negeri 016 Binangun Jaya ini adalah masih banyak yang belum mampu mengenal emosi yang ada pada dirinya, terkadang belum mampu mengelola emosinya, kadang-kadang emosinya meledak-ledak sehingga emosinya dapat merugikan diri sendiri dan orang lain. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi, pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepada anak tentang mengenal emosinya dan mampu mengelola emosi dengan baik dan mengarah kepada hal yang positif. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan edukasi menggunakan buku cerita bergambar agar  mendapatkan pengalaman langsung dalam belajar serta keterampilan mengelola emosi dengan cerdas. Selain itu juga menggunakan media power point yang berisikan materi tentang pengertian emosi, cara mengelola emosi, faktor yang mempengaruhi emosi, upaya mencapai kecerdasan emosi serta peran guru dalam melatih pengelolaan emosi siswa.

Abstract

Sitting posture that is not ergonomic can cause various health problems, especially low back pain (LBP), Spinal deformities resulting from incorrect sitting positions, namely scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis, so there is a need for education to the general public as a whole. especially for Waskito High School and Vocational School children who are still growing. This socialization activity was carried out by explaining the risk of damage to the spine due to sitting incorrectly, causing deviations from the ideal body shape and back pain, by providing direct demonstrations of sitting positions and conditions and then providing discussions and questions and answers with the participants. Based on the results of activities carried out at SMA and SMK, the Waskito Education Foundation was able to understand in detail, good sitting position, the results of discussions and questions and answers with 146 participants consisting of 85 students, and 61 female students participating in Class Science-1. 38, Science-2 . 38, Multi Media-1. 41, and Multimedia-2. 39, it was found that 83% of participants were able to provide responses and understanding regarding the counseling material that had been conveyed from photos before and after the counseling was carried out. Direct counseling with target partners increases knowledge so that it becomes an effective alternative in preventive efforts to prevent spinal disorders (LBP) in participants.

Abstract

BUNDA ATIRAH Farming Women's Group Some of the members are housewives with low education and are classified as economically weak. The activities carried out by KWT aim to improve members' skills which can increase family income. The activity that has been underway is cultivating secondary crops. The palalawi harvest has been marketed to members and communities around the KWT location. Even though KWT has produced agricultural products in the form of cassava leaves, kale, spinach, etc., the results obtained have not been able to improve the family's economy significantly. For this reason, it is necessary to try other activities that can increase the family income of KWT members. One of the businesses planned to be carried out is an agricultural business. The planned business development into the agricultural sector is the manufacture of eco-enzymes. Making eco-enzymes can be done with not too much capital because it only uses organic household waste. For this reason, the service team provides KWT guidance in making eco-enzymes. This is in accordance with KWT Bunda Atirah's needs in developing business innovation towards agriculture. This activity was carried out for 4 months starting from preparing the materials, making eco-enzymes for 2 months and applying them to cultivated plants (hydroponics).Keywords: eco-enzym; Entrepreneurship Development; Farmers

Abstract

The Islamic Center, located in Bambu Apus, East Jakarta, is a multifunctional building consisting of a mosque, auditorium, teaching and learning rooms and office space for managers. In this “pengabdian masyarakat”, the focus is office space. This is a concern because of the problem with the arrangement of the office space that cannot be fully functioned because there is no arrangement and/or interior design for the office space. Thus, the office space that should accommodate activities for users is not yet usable. Seeing these conditions, we, as a “pengabdian masyarakat” team at Universitas Indraprasta PGRI, are trying to hold discussions and coordinate with the Chairperson of PP Persis Jakarta and do “pengabdian masyarakat” which focusing on architecture design.

Abstract

This initiative is designed to enhance the comprehension of Nasyatul Aisyiyah Mungka children, emphasizing that subjects like arts or sciences should be approached with conceptual understanding rather than mere memorization. The service activity unfolds in stages, beginning with the presentation of materials and followed by practical demonstrations and simple simulations facilitated by evolving technology. The core principle involves involving Nasyatul Aisyiyah Mungka's children in applying discussed arts concepts. Additionally, simulations are presented to encourage them to recognize the connection between their daily activities and the realms of arts or sciences. The methodology includes pretests, interviews (focus group discussions), concept delivery, experimental studies (using props and practical activities), and post-tests. The pretest results yielded a mean score of 53.83, while after the service activities, the posttest results indicated an increased mean score of 69.16. This service activity integrates not only one scientific field but a fusion of arts and engineering, where the emphasis on art science is prioritized for conceptual understanding. Simultaneously, engineering science concentrates on design effectiveness, encompassing assembly, installation, and experimentation with props and simulations. This interdisciplinary approach contributes to an enhanced understanding, evidenced by the elevated posttest scores.

Abstract

Tim pelaksana melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk sosialisasi dan pendampingan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan guru PAUD dan TK di Sekolah Matahari yang terletak di Jatirahayu, Bekasi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi guru PAUD dan TK agar lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam mengajar. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah metode survey, observasi dan wawancara untuk mengidentifikasi masalah yang dihadapi oleh mitra. Dalam pelaksanaannya tim memilih metode ceramah dan diskusi yang dilanjutkan dengan praktek langsung penulisan proposal penelitian dan laporan akhir dan terakhir Menyusun artikel ilmiah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan selama 4 (empat) bulan dengan hasil peserta memiliki kemampuan dan pengetahuan baru dalam menerapkan dan melaksanakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Selain itu peserta juga mampu Menyusun proposal dan laporan akhir penelitian, melaksanakan PTK dan mengajar dengan lebih inovatif dikelas masing-masing juga menulis sebuah artikel ilmiah berdasarkan hasil dari laporan akhir penelitian yang disubmit dan di publish dalam jurnal ilmiah.
