Abstract

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding is a process of letting the baby crawl on its own looking for its mother's nipple immediately in the first hour after birth along with skin contact between the baby and the mother. The aim of the study was to analyze the role of midwives in motivating mothers to initiate early breastfeeding at the Makassar City Mother and Child Hospital. The research used is qualitative research. The method of data collection used is data obtained through in-depth interviews using interview guidelines and observations of the object to be studied. From the results of research conducted for approximately one month, it was found that midwives' authority in motivating mothers to carry out Early Breastfeeding Initiation is still not optimal. The implementation of exclusive breastfeeding cannot be monitored, in terms of action and motivation it is quite good because at work midwives carry out their duties with full responsibility in accordance with the midwifery code of ethics. The conclusion from the results of this study is that the role of midwives in initiating early breastfeeding still needs to be improved, because the community, especially pregnant women, are still unfamiliar with the program, so effective socialization and education is needed so that babies born can be initiated on early breastfeeding.

Abstract

Immunization is the most effective and efficient public health effort in preventing diseases and reducing mortality, such as smallpox, polio, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, diphtheria, measles, rubella and congenital rubella syndrome (CRS), tetanus, pneumonia (inflammation of lungs) and meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain). Immunization aims to provide immunity to the child's body by administering a vaccine. Vaccine is a drug that is given to help prevent a disease. There are still many who have not received complete immunization due to various reasons such as lack of knowledge of mothers about immunization and low awareness of mothers bringing their babies to Posyandu or Puskesmas to get complete immunization, lack of explanation from health workers about the benefits of immunization including the factor of low maternal education. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between education, knowledge and attitudes of mothers at the Manisa Health Center. This research is analytic with a cross sectional approach, in this study were mothers who had babies, with a total sampling technique obtained 30 respondents. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire as a research instrument. The data that has been collected is then processed and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of statistical analysis, obtained a relationship between education and completeness of basic immunization in infants (0.007 <0.05), there is a relationship between knowledge and completeness of basic immunization in infants (0.000 <0.05) and there is a relationship between attitude and completeness of basic immunization in infants (0.000 <0.05). Based on the results of this study it was concluded that there was a relationship between education, knowledge and attitudes of mothers with the completeness of basic immunization in infants. Through this research, it is hoped that health workers at the Manisa Health Center will be more active in providing counseling and information about immunization services and for researchers to add experience and apply the knowledge they have gained.

Abstract

Cataracts are a cause of blindness which accounts for approximately half of all blindness in the world, especially in developing countries. The mechanism of cataract formation is highly multifactorial. Loss of transparency in the nucleus and cortex of the lens of the eye can occur as a result of oxidation of membrane lipids, structural or enzymatic proteins by peroxides or free radicals induced by UV light. Other factors that can cause cataract formation are degenerative processes and diabetes mellitus). Cataract therapy is a surgical procedure by removing the cloudy lens, because no medical therapy has been proven to remove cataracts in adults. There are many methods that can be done with surgery for cataract patients. One of them is phacoemulsification, which is a cataract surgery using a small incision method. In this technique, liquefaction of the lens is made using an ultrasound probe that is inserted through an incision in the cornea or anterior sclera. This study aims to determine the relationship between age and gender with the incidence of cataracts at the Eye Polyclinic Outpatient Installation in 2022. This is a retrospective analytic study by examining data in the Recamedics Department. The data is grouped by age, sex and type of cataracts. There were 197 patients who came to the eye polyclinic in July 2022. From the results of the study, 197 people suffered from cataracts with a percentage of 88 men (45%) and 109 women (55%) and the age group that suffered the most from cataracts was the age group 53-68 years and the most common cataracts were senile cataract. Analysis of the relationship between age and gender with the incidence of cataracts in the Outpatient Installation (Poly Eyes) for the period of July 2022 obtained a value for the relationship between age and the incidence of cataracts P = 0.846 and the relationship between sex and the incidence of cataracts P = 0.01. Conclusion: In this study there is a significant relationship between gender and the incidence of cataracts and there is no relationship between age and the incidence of cataracts.

Abstract

The government created the Healthy Family Indicators (IKS) program to assess or measure the level of progress of healthy families in each region. The Healthy Family Index (IKS) is a calculation of the twelve healthy family indicators for each family whose size ranges from 0 to 1. Families classified as healthy families are families with IKS > 0.8. IKS achievements are still relatively low for several regions in Indonesia, the results of IKS calculations from the 9 initial target provinces namely North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Banten and South Sulawesi as of June 8 2017 obtained families who have IKS above 0.8 of 0.163 out of 570,326 families (Pusdatin, 2018). This study aims to describe the family indicators and index of healthy families in Barombong Village. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research. Based on the results of the study showed that the healthy family index of 95 families consisted of 32 (33.7%) healthy families, 27 (28.4%) pre-healthy families and 36 (37.9%) unhealthy families. Meanwhile, 62 families (69.7%) participated in the Family Planning program, 6 families (75%) gave birth to mothers, 5 families (83.3%) babies received complete basic immunization, babies received exclusive breastfeeding there were 5 families (55.6%), Toddlers who received growth monitoring there were 10 families (62.5%), there were no pulmonary TB sufferers in 95 families (100%), Patients with hypertension who received regular treatment there were 3 families (50%) ), no mental disorders were found in 95 families (100%), 68 families (71.6%) smoked family members, 75 families (78.9%) had become JKN members, 95 families (100%) these already have clean water facilities, and 95 families (100%) already use healthy latrines. It is recommended that the local puskesmas make policies and efforts to increase family planning participation so that couples of reproductive age (PUS) realize that participating in family planning is to limit birth rates in the long term, make regulations and make appeals not to smoke, especially for areas that are close to members' activities. family.

Abstract

Phlebitis is an inflammation of the veins that occurs as a result of unsuccessful vein puncture, contamination of IV equipment and inadequate use of hypertonic solutions which can chemically irritate the veins. To minimize the risk of infection, nurses need to be aware of and recognize which factors are dominant in the incidence of phlebitis. This study aims to determine the incidence of phlebitis in the internal, surgical and pediatric ward of the hospital. The research design used was an analytic survey with a prospective (Study Cohort) approach, which is an observational study, meaning that the risk factors to be studied are identified first. It is then followed up prospectively. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling method with a total sample of 57 people, then the results were tested using a computer program with the Chi Square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of this study showed that there was no relationship between age and the incidence of phlebitis (p value = 0.531 > 0.05), there was a relationship between gender and the incidence of phlebitis (p value = 0.007 <0.005), there was a relationship between the size of intravenous catheter cannula and the incidence of phlebitis (p value = 0.001 < 0.05), there was no relationship between the type of fluid and the incidence of phlebitis (p value 0.373 > 0.05), there was a relationship between the type of infusion set and the incidence of phlebitis (p value 0.016 < 0.05), and There is a relationship between the infusion procedure and the incidence of phlebitis (p value 0.004 <0.05). The conclusion is that there is a relationship between gender, type of infusion set, size of intravenous catheter cannula, infusion procedure and no relationship between age and type of fluid with the incidence of phlebitis.
