Abstract

This study explores the influence of transformational, transactional, adaptive, and digital leadership on Decision Support System (DSS) effectiveness across its life cycle phases. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on PRISMA guidelines, 25 articles from Scopus, Web of Science, and EBSCO databases were analyzed to examine leadership impact during DSS adoption, implementation, assimilation, and extension. The findings indicate that transformational leadership fosters innovation and acceptance in adoption, transactional leadership ensures compliance and stability in implementation, adaptive leadership enables flexibility in assimilation, and digital leadership drives continuous innovation in extension, enhancing overall DSS effectiveness. This study fills a critical gap in the literature by integrating traditional and emerging leadership perspectives to explain how leadership styles must evolve dynamically throughout the DSS life cycle. By integrating adaptive and digital leadership into traditional leadership frameworks, this study contributes to leadership and technology adoption research. Practically, the study guides organizational leaders, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia, to align their leadership approaches with each DSS phase, enabling more effective digital transformation and sustained system utilization. It proposes a conceptual framework illustrating leadership's dynamic role in DSS phases and highlights the need for future empirical validation across various organizational contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates how entrepreneurial marketing and digital engagement influence innovative work behavior in Indonesian tourism MSMEs, while also examining the moderating role of social media algorithms. Drawing on the Resource-Based View, the study conceptualizes entrepreneurial marketing and digital engagement as critical intangible resources that potentially drive firm-level innovation. Employing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with data from tourism MSMEs, the findings reveal that digital engagement significantly enhances innovative work behavior, whereas entrepreneurial marketing shows a marginally significant impact. Contrary to expectations, the moderating effects of social media algorithms were not statistically significant, indicating these external digital dynamics may not meaningfully shape the resource-innovation linkages. These insights extend theoretical discussions by emphasizing the differentiated contributions of internal capabilities and the limited moderating role of external algorithmic factors. Practically, the study highlights the necessity for MSME managers to invest in robust digital engagement strategies to cultivate innovation. Future research could explore additional moderating variables or adopt cross-industry perspectives to enrich the understanding of innovation dynamics in small enterprises. This research thus provides both theoretical and practical contributions, underscoring how internal digital competencies predominantly drive innovative behaviors within the context of Indonesia’s evolving tourism sector.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of digital wellbeing and remote work readiness on employee work engagement in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) located in tourist destinations, while considering the moderating role of the generational tech gap. Drawing upon the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) theory, the study surveyed 388 employees using stratified sampling and analyzed the data through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that both digital wellbeing and remote work readiness significantly enhance work engagement. Additionally, the generational tech gap directly affects engagement but does not moderate the relationship between the independent variables and engagement. These results suggest that digital competencies and psychological health are critical across generations, although generational differences still independently matter. The study advances JD-R theory by incorporating digitally relevant constructs and offers practical implications for MSME managers to implement digital wellbeing programs and inclusive training policies. Limitations include its cross-sectional design and reliance on self-reported data. Future research should adopt longitudinal approaches and explore sectoral comparisons to deepen the understanding of digital engagement dynamics.

Abstract

Household waste management remains a significant environmental issue in Indonesia, particularly in urban regions such as West Java. There have been increased public campaign and environmental education efforts, but it does not always mean behavioral change in adopting sustainable consumption patterns. This study investigates the impact of environmental concern on environmentally responsible consumer behavior and the moderating role of social norms, and analyzes three antecedents of environmental concern: consumer education, influencer credibility, and product information clarity. Using a quantitative approach with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from 230 West Java consumers at household level using online and offline questionnaires. The results indicate that environmental awareness plays a significant role in sustainable behavior, and social norms positively moderate this effect. In addition, consumer education, influencer credibility, and product information quality all play a significant role in the formation of environmental awareness. The findings endorse the relevance of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) for understanding sustainable consumption and offer an integrative model consolidating the cognitive, communicative, and normative dimensions. This study presents pragmatic takeaways for campaign developers and policymakers both, pointing out that it's not only a matter of awareness but also shaping facilitative social environments to drive long-term behavior change.

Abstract

Sustainable village development requires a holistic approach that integrates four main pillars: social, economic, environmental, and health. A systematic literature review (SLR) based on the PRISMA protocol, conducted on 56 academic documents, successfully identified and mapped the key elements of each pillar. The findings reveal that these four pillars are interwoven and mutually reinforcing within a dynamic framework encompassing participation, equity, resilience, and efficiency. This integration underscores that sustainability depends not only on technical policies but also on local institutional strength, community adaptive capacity, and the principle of inclusiveness. The implication is that village development planning must adopt an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to realize comprehensive, resilient, and sustainable well-being, where the balance among pillars serves as the key to successful transformation toward a better future for rural communities.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of digital innovation on the business performance of MSMEs through the mediating roles of online and offline social capital. Despite the rapid digital transformation among MSMEs in Central Java, technology adoption has not consistently translated into improved business outcomes, highlighting a gap between digital innovation and performance. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional survey approach, data were collected from 180 MSME respondents and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-AMOS). The results reveal that digital innovation significantly enhances both online and offline social capital, yet it does not directly influence business performance. Instead, online and offline social capital fully mediate the relationship between digital innovation and business performance. These findings suggest that digital innovation alone is insufficient to drive business success unless accompanied by strong relational networks, trust, and collaboration among MSME actors. The study underscores the importance of fostering community-based digital empowerment and hybrid (online–offline) connectivity strategies to strengthen MSME sustainability and competitiveness in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Renewable energy sources are a key development focus and a strategic project worldwide, given the limitations of non-renewable resources. This has led to the push for the development of new renewable resources. Briquettes are one such alternative resource that is environmentally friendly. Briquettes can replace coal, natural gas, and wood charcoal, thus reducing dependence on non- renewable and environmentally harmful resources. Generation Z, as the younger generation, should consider using briquettes as a fuel source in their daily activities. This study aims to analyze Generation Z's interest in using briquettes and to understand the Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning of briquettes. The research uses a mixed-method approach with 7 qualitative respondents and 100 quantitative respondents. The findings show that Environmental Awareness, Willingness to Pay, and Product Quality positively influence Generation Z's interest in using furniture waste briquettes. In terms of positioning, briquettes are primary used by Generation Z for various activities during specific moments.

Abstract

This study investigates the roles of digital promotion, social media engagement, and perceived value in driving customer experience and employee performance, with marketing agility examined as a moderating factor. Using data collected from 200 modern culinary SMEs across Indonesia, the study employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed relationships. The results reveal that digital promotion directly enhances employee performance but does not significantly influence customer experience. Social media engagement and perceived value are found to have strong positive effects on customer experience. Customer experience, in turn, significantly improves employee performance and mediates the relationship between perceived value and employee performance. However, customer experience does not mediate the relationship between digital promotion and employee performance. Additionally, marketing agility does not moderate the relationship between customer experience and employee performance. These findings suggest that experiential mechanisms selectively transmit the effects of marketing stimuli to internal performance outcomes. The study contributes to service-dominant logic and experiential marketing literature by highlighting the conditional role of customer experience and questioning the universal relevance of marketing agility. Practically, the findings provide strategic guidance for culinary SMEs in aligning marketing initiatives with service delivery and employee effectiveness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine Digital HR (Human Resource) Practices, Employee Digital Competence, Transformational Leadership, and the impact of Work Engagement on MSME Performance within the thrifting industry of Indonesia. This study applies JD-R Theory and uses a quantitative explanatory method informed by employee surveys from 200 thrift MSMEs in Indonesia. We collected and analyzed data using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings suggest that Employee Digital Competence and Transformational Leadership positively affect Work Engagement, while Digital HR (Human Resource) Practices have a somewhat lower positive effect on Work Engagement. Work Engagement is positively and significantly correlated to MSME Performance and acts as a key mediator, especially in the interaction of Transformational Leadership with performance. On the other hand, Work Engagement’s mediating impact on Digital HR (Human Resource) Practices and MSME Performance is rather restricted. This indicates that the more ‘human’ resources are likely the more influential factor compared to ‘digital’ resources in improving MSME Performance. This study emphasizes the importance of Digital HR and MSME by stressing the importance of employees and leaders in engagement-based performance models.
