Abstract

This study aims to describe the impact of limited access to education on the sustainability of social relevance of the community in Cibaliung Village, Balai Jaya District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau. The methods used are field observation, interviews with residents, and analysis of relevant documentation. The results show that limited educational facilities, infrastructure conditions, and low community economy greatly affect children's participation in formal education. This has implications for low social mobility and inequality of access to information and skills in the community. Community involvement and government support are key to increasing the relevance of education in the village.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease with a rising prevalence in the community. It can be prevented through increased knowledge, lifestyle changes, and family involvement in daily management. This community service activity was conducted as an educational outreach for 30 women in a religious study group at Jl. H. M. Nur RT05/RW02 No.60, Kelurahan Krukut, Kecamatan Limo, Depok. The goal was to enhance participants’ knowledge and awareness in preventing and recognizing early risks of diabetes, as well as managing the disease independently at home. The interactive education session included pre-test and post-test assessments. Results showed an increase in average scores from 70,67 to 87,67, indicating a 22-point or 33,5% improvement in understanding. Through this activity, participants are expected to adopt healthier lifestyles, identify early symptoms, and support family members in diabetes prevention and management at home.

Abstract

Good financial management is an important factor for the sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to provide financial planning and budgeting education to MSME actors in Paninggilan Village, Ciledug. The methods used include initial surveys, training in the use of simple financial management applications, implementation assistance, and evaluation and monitoring. The results of the activities show an increase in understanding and ability of MSME actors in recording financial transactions and preparing budgets in a planned manner. Intensive assistance helps participants overcome practical obstacles in financial management. Although there are challenges related to digital literacy and limited resources, this program has proven effective in strengthening MSME financial management so that it can increase competitiveness and business sustainability. Continuous education and adjustment of programs to field needs are recommended to support optimal MSME development.

Abstract

Pasien yang akan melahirkan biasanya mengalami masalah-masalah psikologis yang berupa reaksi emosi sebagai manifestasi gejala psikologis, sebab tindakan yang akan dilakukan baik pembedahan maupun tindakan pertolongan persalinan merupakan ancaman potensial maupun aktual pada integritas seseorang yang dapat membangkitkan stress fisiologis maupun psikologis, sehinggaTujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah dilakukannya pemberdayaan Ibu Persalinan melalui  pemberian  terapi  relaksasi  benson  untuk  menurunkan  kecemasan. Hasil wawancara dan observasi di dapatkan masalah Ibu persalian Kala I mengalami kecemasan. Ada 30 Orang yang mengikuti kegiatan terapi. Tempat Pengabdian masyarakat RSUD Lahat. Terapi diawali dengan memberikan materi mengenai terapi relaksasi benson mulai dari pengertian, manfaat, cara melakuan terapi benson tersebut dan diakhiri dengan mempraktekkan terapi tersebut. Dari hasil wawancara pada Ibu setelah diajarkan latihan relaksasi benson mereka mengatakan sangat senang dan akan berusaha menerapkan atau mempraktekan sendiri terapi tersebut, mereka juga menyampaikan  bahwa  mereka  antusias  menunggu  mahasiswa  berkegiatan  bersama  meraka  terutama  dalam melakukan terapi relaksasi benson sehingga keluhan kesehatan seperti kecemasan dapat menurun Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini yaitu terapi relaksasi benson sangat baik diterapkan pada Ibu dengan masalah kecemasan dengan cara memberdayakan dan melatih ibu dengan kebiasaan baik yang salah satunya melakukan terapi ini secara mandiri untuk meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan ibu Persalian Kala I

Abstract

This service is carried out with the aim of fostering children's intelligence through parenting where parenting is a very important thing to do by school institutions to provide knowledge to parents/guardians of students related to education for early childhood. The purpose of this parenting activity is to provide understanding and guidance to parents/guardians of students on how to foster children's intelligence according to their interests and talents. The method of activity carried out is participatory, namely an effort to provide information to parents/guardians of students and teachers so that they have an increased understanding of the material presented. The form of community service activities is in the form of seminars and interactive discussions related to the intelligence of each child and how to foster that intelligence according to the child's interests and talents. The results of this activity are the implementation of parenting activities for parents/guardians of students at TKQ Nur Insani in fostering children's intelligence according to their interests and talents properly, as well as an increase in the understanding of parents/guardians of students regarding how to foster children's intelligence according to their interests and talents.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the quality of life of children at Al Marhamah Orphanage in Medan through social mentoring and capacity building in emotional and social development. The intervention employs a casework approach focused on addressing the emotional and social needs of the orphaned children, particularly a child with initials (A) who faces difficulties in social interaction. The process includes stages of engagement, assessment, intervention planning, implementation, evaluation, and termination. Through methods such as role-playing and motivational storytelling, (A) demonstrated increased confidence and improved communication skills over a three-week intervention period. Additionally, the activity strengthened communication and empathy between the mentor and the ward. It is hoped that this activity can serve as a model for human-centered and holistic social intervention efforts to empower orphaned children and contribute to social welfare development in Indonesia. This experience also enhanced the students' practical skills during fieldwork, fostering greater social awareness regarding the needs of underprivileged children.

Abstract

The author conducted a practicum at the Ar-Rahman Orphanage on Jl. Arifin No.1a, Sitirejo II, Kec. Medan Amplas, Medan City, North Sumatra 20217. The practicum conducted by the author was to research the problems experienced by the orphanage children. The problems experienced by the orphanage children were being victims of bullying. From this problem, the author was interested and had the goal of helping the problems of the children in the orphanage by saying that when we are experiencing bullying, we must do it by facing bullying, such as daring to speak up, seeking support from adults, and avoiding dangerous confrontations. The author has clients (individuals) who experience these problems. The clients consist of children who are still in elementary school (SD) grade 2. The author uses the Casework stage in his research from the preparation stage to the termination stage. After carrying out all the casework stages, the results expected by the author are that the orphanage children (clients) can show positive development and be able to face social situations better.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in the Indonesian economy, including in empowering rural communities. Leny Bumpak Tenun, as one of the MSMEs, has challenges in expanding its market reach due to limited digital marketing strategies and product innovation. This community service activity aims to support the development of Leny Bumpak Tenun through marketing strategies, namely creating a website as a digital promotional media, implementing a bazaar to introduce and sell products directly, and knitting craft training to increase product variety and empower local communities. The implementation method includes creating a website that displays a product catalog and ordering system, technical training in website management, and knitting training that produces creative products such as key chains and accessories. The results of the activity showed an increase in brand awareness, community skills, and wider market potential, making this approach effective in supporting the sustainability of locally-based MSMEs.

Abstract

Children in foster care often face challenges in expressing themselves and building self-confidence due to limited means of creativity development and social interaction. This community service activity aims to create a space to express and boost the self-confidence of children in Nur Karomah Depok Orphanage through storytelling and storytelling training. The methods used included: (1) analysis of the situation and partners’ needs, (2) implementation of the training with three main stages (coloring pictures, writing short stories, and reading stories in front of the group, as well as (3) participatory evaluation. (23 of 30 participants) who were initially shy managed to read their stories in public The combination of coloring and writing activities proved to be effective as a medium of self-expression, while the small group approach and positive appreciation strengthened children’s self-confidence and encouragement of education also supported this activity. in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child This training succeeds in creating a safe and supportive environment for children to develop literacy skills, communication, and confidence For sustainability, it is recommended that there be regular programs, special accompaniment for us collaboration with shy children..

Abstract

The development of MSMEs through the implementation of marketing strategies in the digitalization era has become a major concern in improving the competitiveness and performance of MSMEs in the current digitalization era. This study documents the strategic approach applied to empower MSMEs in Cibunar Village, Rancakalong, Sumedang, through a Community Service (PKM) program that focuses on training and mentoring in marketing in the digitalization era. In this study, various challenges and opportunities faced by MSMEs in Cibunar Village were analyzed in depth, including limited knowledge and skills in marketing in the digitalization era, access to internet infrastructure, and practical obstacles in managing social media and e-commerce platforms. Through a series of PKM activities, MSME players were provided with training on marketing strategies in the digitalization era, social media management, and e-commerce. The implementation evaluation showed significant improvements in participants' understanding and skills, as well as positive responses to the PKM activities. This research makes an important contribution to the practical understanding of the implementation of marketing strategies in the digitalization era for MSMEs in Cibunar Village.
