Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the work environment and quality of work life on individual work productivity among Generation Z, with mental health serving as a mediating variable within the structural model. Generation Z, as a demographic cohort increasingly dominating the labor force, exhibits distinctive psychosocial characteristics that necessitate adaptive managerial approaches, particularly concerning psychological well-being in the workplace. The sample comprised 161 respondents employed across various industrial sectors in Indonesia, selected using a sampling technique based on Lemeshow’s formula for populations lacking explicit definition. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach to assess causal relationships among constructs and to validate the proposed theoretical model. Empirical findings reveal that both the work environment and quality of work life exert a positive and statistically significant influence on mental health. Furthermore, these two variables also directly contribute to enhanced work productivity. In addition, mental health is demonstrated to be a significant mediator in the relationship between the independent variables and productivity, thereby reinforcing their indirect effects. These results underscore the importance of organizational policy formulation that strategically positions mental health as a core element in human resource management systems. Accordingly, well-being-based workplace interventions not only enhance productivity but also foster a sustainable work ecosystem for the current and future workforce.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has driven significant transformations in the employment landscape, marked by the emergence of new occupational roles such as freelance content creators—professions that are particularly appealing to Generation Z. Despite operating independently and with high levels of flexibility, these freelance workers remain subject to complex psychosocial work dynamics, including job stress, rewards, motivation, and job satisfaction. This study aims to empirically investigate the influence of job stress and rewards on job satisfaction, while examining the mediating role of motivation within the context of digital freelancers. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 220 Gen Z freelance content creators in Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique, facilitated by the SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that job stress exerts a significantly negative effect on both motivation and job satisfaction, whereas rewards have a significantly positive effect on these variables. Furthermore, motivation was found to partially and significantly mediate the relationship between job stress, rewards, and job satisfaction. These findings underscore the critical importance of affective dimensions in shaping the occupational well-being of freelancers in the digital era. The main contribution of this study lies in its extension of the theoretical framework surrounding non-traditional work dynamics, as well as its practical implications for the development of career management and well-being strategies tailored to platform-based freelance workers.

Abstract

The mobile gaming industry has evolved into a strategic sector within the global digital economy ecosystem, contributing significantly to the overall revenue of the gaming industry. A concrete manifestation of this dynamic is Honor of Kings (HoK), a 5v5 MOBA game developed by TiMi Studio Group, which has recorded over 100 million daily active players worldwide. The success of HoK is not solely determined by the quality of its game mechanics but also by its ability to deliver an immersive user experience and implement adaptive Content Marketing strategies. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of Game User Experience (GUX) and Content Marketing on Player Loyalty, with Satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative approach through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), data were collected from active HoK players using a validated survey instrument. The results of the analysis indicate that both GUX and Content Marketing have a significant positive effect on Satisfaction, which, in turn, mediates their influence on Loyalty. The proposed mediation model successfully illustrates the affective role of Satisfaction as a key determinant in the formation of player Loyalty in digital contexts. These findings not only reinforce theoretical foundations in the domain of experience-based marketing but also offer practical insights for game developers and marketers in designing sustainable retention strategies through the optimization of gameplay experience and value-driven content delivery. Accordingly, this study presents a relevant conceptual framework for understanding the mechanisms of Loyalty formation within the competitive and dynamic mobile gaming industry.

Abstract

The growing dominance of impulse buying within TikTok's live streaming commerce, particularly in the Fashion product segment, signifies a transformation in digital consumer behavior influenced by the dynamics of real-time interactivity and incentive-based promotional strategies. This study empirically examines the effects of real-time interactivity and promotion incentive information on impulse buying behavior, with perceived trust serving as a mediating variable that explains the psychological pathway between digital stimuli and spontaneous purchase decisions. Employing a quantitative approach with an associative causal design, data were collected from 231 active TikTok users in Indonesia and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) version 4.0. The analysis reveals that both exogenous variables significantly enhance the tendency for impulsive purchases, both directly and indirectly through the mediation of perceived trust. Responsive real-time interactions and exclusive, time-sensitive promotions effectively foster consumer trust in sellers, which subsequently accelerates unplanned buying behavior. These findings advance theoretical discourse in digital marketing literature by emphasizing the critical integration of interactivity, promotional stimuli, and affective trust mechanisms in shaping purchasing decisions within persuasive and simultaneous digital environments. The practical implications of this study offer strategic insights for businesses, encouraging the optimization of interactive features and promotional tactics to establish credibility and drive instant sales conversions in the context of e-commerce live streaming.

Abstract

This article examines the importance of pragmatic equivalence in translating humor, a crucial yet often challenging aspect due to humor’s deep reliance on cultural context, implicature, and audience interpretation. Pragmatic equivalence emphasizes the conveyance of implicit meaning through communication principles such as those proposed by Grice, where coherence takes precedence over mere lexical and grammatical cohesion. In humor translation, coherence refers to the interconnectedness of meaning based on shared context and knowledge between the author and the audience, rather than simply the structure of sentences. However, humor is inherently ambiguous and open to multiple interpretations, making its meaning not always directly transferable. A single mistranslated element can alter the entire comedic effect, as humor is often highly culture-specific. In this case, the translator’s role extends beyond language transfer to bridging the knowledge gap that the target audience might have, sometimes at the cost of the humor’s spontaneity. This challenge creates a dilemma between preserving natural comedic effect and delivering accurate meaning. As a result, humor translation often leans toward either overly literal or overly liberal approaches, each with the risk of losing essential nuance. Therefore, pragmatic equivalence involves more than just finding corresponding meanings; it also requires sensitivity to the social and cultural contexts that shape audience responses. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on the unique complexity of humor translation, making it a valuable contribution to the fields of literary studies, linguistics, and translation studies.

Abstract

This article investigates patterns of Hegelian Dialectics in 5 Seconds of Summer’s song lyrics entitled Good Girl. The background of this study lies on such stereotypes whether new literary works may still contain philosophical ideas. The research question of this paper is whether 5 Seconds of Summer’s song lyrics entitled Good Girl can be analyzed through Hegelian Dialectics. Through qualitative method, this paper shows how the situation of the girl is covered by old and new knowledge in the scheme of thesis-antithesis-synthesis as theorized by G. W. F. Hegel. This approach emphasizes how traditional and modern understandings interact, highlighting how dynamic identity building is. Using explorative approach, the components of the song lyrics are discussed through subtextual understandings that Hegelian Dialectics may erode such stereotype and later shape another stigma as well. It is analyzed that the girl lives the stigma that a good girl is a nerd and should not have fun outside the house. The song lyrics then accentuate that a smart girl could also be a bad girl and it indeed breaks the stigma of a clever girl is always a good girl. In conclusion, the song lyrics show how ideas of a good and a bad girl are not that simple since those reflect complex situation between common, social, and even academic norms. By stating so, the novelty of this article is evident; such new literary works may still always contain certain philosophical presuppositions.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively investigate the influence of Social Media Marketing and Lifestyle on consumer Purchase Decisions, with Brand Awareness serving as a mediating variable that plays a pivotal role in the consumer decision-making process. The research adopts a causal-quantitative design, intended to identify and test the causal relationships among the predetermined variables. Primary data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 130 respondents, consisting of customers of CW Coffee in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique based on Partial Least Squares (PLS), operated through SmartPLS 4 software, which facilitates simultaneous evaluation of both the measurement model (outer model) and the structural model (inner model). The model estimation results indicate that both Social Media Marketing and Lifestyle exert a positive and statistically significant effect on Brand Awareness, and contribute both directly and indirectly to Purchase Decisions. Furthermore, Brand Awareness is empirically validated as a partial mediator that reinforces the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The theoretical implications of these findings underscore that enhancing brand exposure through strategic social media engagement and contextually understanding contemporary consumer Lifestyles are critical determinants in shaping strong brand perceptions and driving purchase intention and realization. Consequently, this study offers practical contributions for business practitioners in formulating digital marketing strategies based on the integration of consumer values and the optimization of digital communication channels, thereby enhancing market penetration effectiveness and fostering long-term customer loyalty.

Abstract

Economic growth is a key indicator in assessing a country's ability to sustainably increase the output of goods and services. This study aims to analyze the effect of trade openness (TO) and the interaction between foreign direct investment (FDI) and political stability (PS) on economic growth in member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The study utilizes panel data from 30 OIC member countries over the period 2005–2023, sourced from the World Bank’s World Development Indicators (WDI). The analytical method employed is panel data regression using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) to control for individual heterogeneity across countries, as well as Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to test the moderating role of PS in the relationship between FDI and economic growth. The estimation results show that both TO and FDI have a positive and significant impact on economic growth. However, the interaction between FDI and PS exhibits a negative and significant effect, which contradicts conventional theoretical expectations that political stability should enhance the positive impact of FDI. These findings suggest that in several OIC countries, despite relatively low political stability, FDI continues to flow in response to economic opportunities, strategic interests, or domestic market appeal. In other words, political instability does not always serve as a major barrier to foreign investment, especially when the economic potential remains high. Moreover, FDI under such conditions may serve as an important instrument to strengthen international economic cooperation, expand production capacity, and drive long-term economic growth. These findings provide strategic implications for the formulation of investment and institutional stability policies in OIC countries.

Abstract

The participation of Generation Z in the contemporary labor market serves as a key catalyst in driving technological adoption, organizational innovation, and changes in work culture. However, the high turnover intention among this generation indicates instability in employee retention, which can impact operational efficiency and continuity, particularly in the service sector. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of Non-Physical Work Environment, Compensation, and Workload on Turnover Intention among Generation Z workers in the Coffee Shop industry in Pontianak City, with Job Satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed in this study, with data collected through an online questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. A total of 200 respondents aged 18–27 years were selected using purposive sampling based on relevant criteria. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach via the SmartPLS 4 software. The analysis results show that the Non-Physical Work Environment has a significant negative effect on Turnover Intention, while Compensation has a negative but not significant effect. Workload has a significant positive effect on Turnover Intention. Furthermore, the Non-Physical Work Environment and Compensation have significant positive effects on Job Satisfaction, while the effect of Workload is not significant. Job Satisfaction is proven to act as a significant mediator in the relationship between the Non-Physical Work Environment and Compensation on Turnover Intention, but it does not mediate the relationship between Workload and Turnover Intention. These findings emphasize the urgency of formulating managerial strategies focused on improving the quality of the work environment and implementing adaptive compensation policies, in order to sustainably reduce turnover rates among Generation Z workers.

Abstract

Reading proficiency is a fundamental skill in primary education; however, children with special needs classified as slow learners often face significant challenges in developing early reading abilities due to limitations in phonological processing. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the phonic method in improving the reading skills of slow learners through a structured intervention approach. The central research problem addresses how the phonic method can be appropriately adapted to overcome reading difficulties in children with learning delays. The subject of this study was a fifth-grade elementary school student who exhibited marked delays in recognizing letter sounds, constructing words, and understanding simple sentence structures. A case study approach was employed, involving a six-session individualized intervention designed in gradual stages. Each session focused on developing phonological skills, including phoneme identification, blending sounds into syllables, phoneme segmentation, and the introduction of complex patterns such as digraphs and diphthongs. The results demonstrated significant improvement in the subject’s reading ability, evidenced by increased accuracy in letter-sound recognition, reading simple words, and constructing short sentences. Although minor errors in pronunciation and word structure persisted, the subject’s consistent progress throughout the intervention confirmed the phonic method as an effective and applicable approach to teaching reading to slow learners. In conclusion, the phonic method successfully addressed phonological barriers through strategies tailored to the learner’s cognitive profile. The novelty of this study lies in its implementation of the phonic method as a step-by-step phonological intervention model within the context of inclusive primary education an area that remains underexplored and underutilized in both educational practice and research in Indonesia.
