Abstract

The Inquiry Learning Model has the advantage in its application, namely that meaningful learning occurs. Students who learn to complete an invention will maximize all the knowledge they have and find out what knowledge to use. Learning using the inquiry learning model will have more meaning when teachers are able to expand the level of educator knowledge to the basics of theory and concepts. A media will be tried to be applied in the development of learning media, namely in the form of learning videos presented in Microsoft Powerpoint which aims to make learning more effective, interesting and fun so that it can improve students' learning outcomes and understanding of concepts. The inquiry model-based learning video media that has been developed has a design using the ADDIE development model which includes five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Overall, this model shows great potential in improving students' critical thinking skills and is worthy of consideration for implementation in the basic education curriculum.

Abstract

One way used to introduce local cultural values to the younger generation is through learning at school. Learning in schools needs to take a role that can optimize the inheritance of cultural values to the young generation of Indonesia, so that the young generation knows and has a sense of belonging to their national culture and integrates it in their lives to form their unique identity as a dignified Indonesian nation. The shift in language culture which is increasingly decreasing in society is a serious problem that must be addressed. This shift is the widespread use of harsh language in community interaction activities. What is even more worrying is that people consider it a normal and normal thing to use. This is the basis for integrating various educational values in PBI learning to create an academic society that is polite and intelligent in language. Examples in the language sub-discussion relate to society and culture. The discussion can be directed to PSB values in the form of social and cultural values, meaning that the language process is part of the culture of a community. It is not limited to this, but explains that language can represent a person's culture and vice versa, community culture can be seen from the community's language patterns.

Abstract

Given the challenges associated with the 8:4:4 system of education CBC that is skill-based has been deemed appropriate to replace it. The first cohort students of CBC are currently in grade 8-junior secondary school that has been domiciled in primary schools. However, the implementation seems to be bedeviled by multiple challenges. It is against this backdrop that this paper purposes to look at implementation of CBC in Kenya: Challenges and opportunities. Objectives of the study were: to determine the human resource challenges facing implementation of CBC; to establish the Schools’ infrastructural challenges facing the implementation of CBC; to establish the financial challenges facing the implementation of CBC and to examine the opportunities that can be explored towards realization of the success of the implementation of CBC.The study explored empirical literature and it was underpinned by Provus Educational Evaluation Model (1973).The study established that there are a multiple challenges bedeviling CBC implementation including financial constraints towards funding the students’ fees, and for establishing infrastructure. That there is acute shortage of teachers for the CBC and more so the JSS and that even the few teachers employed requires continuous support through professional training and develop to make them competent enough towards effectiveness in the delivery. That there are serious gaps in infrastructure including science and computer laboratories and that there are opportunities available to improve on CBC delivery-including improvement on funding; hiring more teachers and giving them continuous professional development amongst others.

Abstract

The Inquiry Learning Model is a problem-based learning or investigation carried out by searching for truth or knowledge that requires critical, creative thinking and the ability to use intuition. Inquiry learning is a learning pattern to help students learn to formulate problems and test their own opinions and have awareness of their abilities. Learning begins with posing a problem and question. Students are required to think logically, analytically and critically in searching for, investigating and finding answers to the problems in question. The effectiveness of the inquiry learning model cannot be separated from the active role of students in the learning process. The learning material is not provided directly, but the role of students in this model is to search and find the learning material themselves, while the teacher acts as a facilitator and guide for students to learn. There are five stages taken in carrying out inquiry learning, namely: a) formulating problems to be solved by students; b) determine a temporary answer or better known as a hypothesis or problem; c) look for information, data and facts needed to answer hypotheses or problems; d) draw conclusions or generalizations; and e) draw conclusions.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has brought significant changes in various fields, including education. Maths education, often considered a challenging subject, can now be transformed by the use of technology to improve students' understanding and learning outcomes. This research uses the literature review method to explore various studies and publications that discuss the role of technology in mathematics education. The results show that technology has a crucial role in the transformation of mathematics education. The use of visualisation software, educational apps and e-learning platforms has been shown to help students better understand abstract mathematical concepts. Technology also enables more adaptive and personalised learning, provides a variety of resources that can be accessed anytime and anywhere, and increases student engagement and motivation. The instant evaluation and feedback provided by technology helps students to immediately correct mistakes and understand the material more deeply. In addition, the integration of technology in mathematics learning also helps to improve students' digital skills, which is important for their future.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the phenomenon of difficulties experienced by prospective mathematics teachers in carrying out teaching practice, which are focused on difficulties in using mathematics learning media. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Through questionnaires to collect data on the difficulties of prospective teachers during teaching practice, it was found that the difficulty in using the right media was the highest difficulty than others. Data collection techniques to dig deeper into the reasons for the difficulties experienced by students in determining the right learning media were carried out using interviews. The reasons for the difficulties of prospective teacher in using learning media are 1). The habit of teachers teaching mathematics at the school who do not use learning media causes students to have difficulty making decisions in choosing the appropriate media used and hesitate, 2). Limited school infrastructure facilities. 3). Lack of information sources to help prospective teachers choose the right media, in this case, the lack of role of teaching practice supervisors and mentor teachers.

Abstract

Student motivation refers to the internal or external drive that influences students' desire and effort in achieving learning goals, which can be intrinsic (drive from within) or extrinsic (drive from external factors such as rewards or praise). Self-perception is a student's view or belief of their ability and competence in a particular area or task. Both play an important role in the learning process, where high motivation and positive self-perception can increase engagement, performance and feelings of effectiveness in facing educational challenges. The review conducted in this study used the literature research method. The results of this study confirm the importance of supporting positive self-perception and increasing intrinsic motivation to reduce foreign language anxiety among students. Educators are advised to create a supportive learning environment and provide constructive feedback, as well as design learning activities that foster students' sense of success and self-confidence. Thus, students can better enjoy the foreign language learning process without the burden of excessive anxiety, and ultimately, improve their overall learning outcomes.

Abstract

Islamic education is a core component in shaping the nation's character based on noble moral, ethical and spiritual values. The study conducted in this research uses the literature research method. The results of the study show that Islamic education consistently educates values such as honesty, responsibility, truth, justice and respect for others, which are very important in the formation of individual character with integrity. Islamic education also plays a role in strengthening students' cultural and religious identity, promoting tolerance, mutual respect and social solidarity amidst the cultural and religious diversity of Indonesian society. In addition, the integration of modern knowledge and life skills in the Islamic education curriculum ensures that students develop not only moral qualities but also relevant competencies to face global challenges. However, challenges such as limited competent human resources, relevance of the curriculum to the needs of the times, and lack of funds and infrastructure, are obstacles that need to be overcome. Therefore, the implementation of strategies such as training and professional development for educators, development of relevant and applicable curricula, and investment in technology and adequate educational facilities, are essential to improve the quality of Islamic education. With this approach, Islamic education can effectively contribute to the formation of a superior and highly competitive national character in the global context.
