Abstract

ABSTRACT This Community Service Program (PKM) was carried out in response to the increasing vulnerability of adolescents to risky behaviors associated with free association, which is often triggered by limited parental supervision and a lack of understanding about its consequences. The program aimed to enhance adolescents’ awareness of the dangers of free association while providing them with positive alternative activities that support healthier behavioral development. The implementation methods included educational dialogues, interactive discussions, field observations, and a practical session on creating keychains from recycled bottle caps. Throughout the program, participants demonstrated noticeable improvements, reflected in their growing confidence to ask questions, engage in discussions, and share personal experiences. In addition to gaining new insights into the impacts of risky social interactions, the adolescents were able to develop creativity through the craft-making activity, which offered them productive options for spending their free time. Overall, this PKM activity contributed positively to strengthening awareness, preventive attitudes, and responsible social behavior among adolescents, fostering a healthier and more mindful approach to peer interactions.

Abstract

Kemampuan sosial-emosional merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan siswa sekolah dasar, namun pada prakteknya masih ditemukan siswa yang kurang percaya diri, cenderung berkelompok secara eksklusif, dan minim interaksi dengan teman sebaya. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan perlunya upaya stimulasi kemampuan sosial-emosional melalui kegiatan yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan sosial-emosional siswa kelas 6 SDN Sumbersari III Malang melalui permainan tradisional Ular-Naga dan Kucing - kucingan yang dipadukan dengan pemberian psikoedukasi. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 21 siswa dan dilaksanakan dalam periode satu hari. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah dan tanya jawab, praktik permainan tradisional Ular Naga dan Kucing-kucingan, serta pengukuran menggunakan pre-test dan post-test berdasarkan kerangka CASEL dengan lima dimensi kompetensi sosial-emosional. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan sosial-emosional siswa pada aspek kerja sama, komunikasi, empati, sportivitas, pengendalian emosi, dan kepercayaan diri. Peningkatan tersebut dinilai dari adanya peningkatan hasil post-test dipadukan dengan observasi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa permainan tradisional yang dipadukan dengan psikoedukasi memberikan dampak positif awal terhadap pengembangan kemampuan sosial-emosional siswa sekolah dasar. Meskipun demikian, kegiatan ini masih bersifat eksploratif sehingga diperlukan pengembangan lanjutan dengan durasi lebih panjang, instrumen tervalidasi, dan cakupan peserta yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Program Psikoedukasi Self-Disclosure dan Sharing Session pada remaja Panti Asuhan Darul Jundi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis remaja di Panti Asuhan Darul Jundi. Program yang diberi nama Circle of Growth ini sendiri meliputi beberapa kegiatan yaitu psikoedukasi self-disclosure dan sharing session. Remaja panti asuhan dipilih menjadi sasaran utama karena merupakan kelompok yang rentan memiliki permasalahan psikologis akibat keterbatasan dukungan emosional, kesulitan mengenali emosi, serta kesulitan membangun hubungan dengan orang lain. Metode Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dimulai dengan tahap persiapan, perencanaan, dan pelaksanaan yang dilakukan secara tatap muka kepada remaja berusia 12-17 tahun. Dalam pelaksanaanya, kegiatan inti akan terdiri dari penyampaian materi psikoedukasi self-disclosure, pengenalan emosi melalui penempelan stiker emosi, sharing session, ice breaking, serta refleksi melalui papan harapan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa peserta mulai mampu mengenali, mengekspresikan emosi yang dirinya rasakan, hingga mampu menunjukkan keberanian untuk mengungkapkan perasaan terbuka dalam lingkungan sebayanya. Dari program ini, remaja panti asuhan mendapatkan pengalaman positif dalam membangun hubungan sosial, peningkatan terhadap kesadaran diri sendiri, serta dukungan untuk kesejahteraan psikologis. Dengan demikian, program “Circle of Growth” ini dapat dijadikan langkah awal dalam upaya mendukung kesehatan mental remaja di lingkungan panti asuhan.

Abstract

Children living in orphanages are at risk of experiencing obstacles in social and emotional development due to limited access to consistent caregiving relationships. This condition highlights the need for systematic efforts to foster positive and healthy relationships as a foundation for developing a sense of security and social interaction skills in children. This community service activity aimed to strengthen social relationships among children aged 5–12 years at YASIBU Orphanage, Malang City. The method employed was a descriptive qualitative approach implemented through introductory activities, material delivery, group games, and reflection sessions. The participants consisted of 18 children residing in the orphanage. Data were collected through observations of children’s engagement and responses throughout the activities. The results indicated increased participation, improved cooperation skills, greater confidence in communication, and more open emotional expression. This activitycontributes to supporting children’s social and emotional development and to creating safe and supportive interaction experiences within the orphanage environment.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by students’ limited writing literacy, particularly in producing and publishing texts in mass media. Writing is an essential twenty-first-century literacy skill that supports critical thinking, creativity, and civic participation. MA Raudlatul Ulum 1 Ganjaran has strong potential to develop a writing culture, yet it lacks structured mentoring programs focused on publication. This program aimed to enhance students’ knowledge, skills, and motivation in writing poems, short stories, opinion articles, and news texts in accordance with journalistic standards. The methods included theoretical training, writing workshops, intensive mentoring, and evaluation using pre- and post-assessments. The results indicate an increase in writing knowledge from 2.7 to 2.95 and writing skills from 1.3 to 1.49. Poetry writing scores reached 81.42% (very good category), while short story writing reached 78.05% (good category). These findings demonstrate that writing mentoring is effective in improving students’ literacy and fostering a sustainable writing culture.

Abstract

Limited digital literacy and low understanding of digital marketing remain major obstacles for MSMEs in improving their business competitiveness. These issues were also found in MSMEs under the guidance of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada Medan, which have been relying on conventional marketing methods. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to provide digital marketing education as an effort to empower MSMEs to be able to utilize digital media in marketing their products. The methods used in this activity included preliminary interviews with Dompet Dhuafa Waspada Medan, delivery of material through seminars, question and answer sessions, and evaluation of participants' understanding using pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the basic concepts of digital marketing, as indicated by the post-test results, which were better than the pre-test results. Participants also showed enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the activity. Thus, this digital marketing education activity is considered effective in increasing the knowledge and readiness of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada Medan's SMEs to adopt digital marketing as a business development strategy.

Abstract

Excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation can increase the risk of various skin health problems, particularly among adolescents who have a high level of outdoor activities. Sunscreen is an effective preventive measure to protect the skin from the harmful effects of sun exposure; however, adolescents’ knowledge and behavior regarding the proper use of sunscreen remain relatively low, especially in terms of obtaining, using, storing, and disposing of the product correctly. This community service activity aimed to empower students of MA Muhammadiyah 2 Al-Furqan through education on the DAGUSIBU principles (Obtain, Use, Store, and Dispose) in sunscreen use. The implementation method applied an educational and participatory approach, including initial observation, interactive counseling sessions, demonstrations of proper sunscreen application, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test assessments. The participants consisted of 45 students aged 15–18 years. The results showed an increase in knowledge among all participants, with the average pre-test score rising from 7.64 to 9.84 in the post-test, as well as an increase in the average percentage of correct answers from 67.11% to 97.11%. In addition, most participants reported being satisfied to very satisfied with the materials and the implementation of the activity. Education based on the DAGUSIBU principles proved effective in improving adolescents’ understanding of proper, safe, and responsible sunscreen use and has the potential to encourage sustainable skin health protection behaviors.

Abstract

Jatian Village, Pakusari District, Jember Regency, has ±204,80 hectares of tobacco farmland, around 6.000 plants, and average production of 9,93 quintals of dried tobacco each season. About 18% of biomass becomes waste as inferior leaves and stems that remain unused and may pollute the environment. Yet tobacco waste contains active compounds such as nicotine, alkaloids, and flavonoids that can be used as raw materials for biopesticides. This program examined converting tobacco waste into biopesticide through maceration assisted by a biomacerator. The waste was chopped and dried, then macerated for 48 hours at a 3:7 material-to-solvent ratio using water-ethanol mixtures in two variations (9:1 and 9:2) to compare extraction effectiveness. Effectiveness tests showed that the 20% ethanol formulation accelerated mortality of armyworms within 3 minutes and grasshoppers within 45 minutes, whereas the 10% ethanol formulation required 10 minutes and 1 hour 20 minutes, respectively. The activity increased community understanding from 15% to 85%, enabled 85% of participants to operate the biomacerator independently, and achieved 95% satisfaction, indicating a sustainable solution that strengthens self-reliance in agricultural waste management.

Abstract

Penyalahgunaan obat masih marak di kalangan anak muda, terutama karena kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pengadaan, penggunaan, penyimpanan, dan pembuangan obat yang benar. Inisiatif nirlaba ini bertujuan untuk memperluas pengetahuan anak muda tentang konsep DAGUSIBU (pengadaan, penggunaan, penyimpanan, dan pembuangan obat) melalui promosi kesehatan. Inisiatif ini dilakukan di SMA IT Ukhuwah Banjarmasin menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif. Dua puluh delapan siswa, yang dipilih melalui pengambilan sampel terarah dan aktif dalam organisasi sekolah seperti PMR, OSIS, dan PIK-R, berpartisipasi. Desain pra-pasca-tes digunakan untuk evaluasi guna mengukur perubahan pengetahuan peserta sebelum dan sesudah inisiatif. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta tentang semua indikator DAGUSIBU, yang tercermin dalam peningkatan persentase rata-rata jawaban benar dari 31,6% pada pra-tes menjadi 93,9% pada pasca-tes. Lebih lanjut, survei kepuasan mengungkapkan bahwa mayoritas peserta menganggap konten mudah dipahami, presentasinya jelas, dan aktivitas tersebut bermanfaat untuk memahami dan mengambil keputusan terkait penggunaan obat. Oleh karena itu, langkah-langkah promosi kesehatan DAGUSIBU dianggap efektif dalam memperkuat pengetahuan dan kesadaran kaum muda tentang penggunaan obat yang rasional dan aman.

Abstract

Merokok merupakan masalah kesehatan yang serius terutama pada remaja karena berpotensi memberikan berbagai dampak. Rendahnya pengetahuan serta adanya persepsi keliru terkait rokok, termasuk rokok elektrik, menjadi faktor pendorong perilaku merokok pada generasi muda. Penyuluhan kesehatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan membentuk sikap siswa mengenai risiko rokok serta memperkuat daya tolak terhadap pengaruh dari lingkungan sosial. Metodologi yang diterapkan meliputi ceramah edukatif yang interaktif, diskusi, serta sesi tanya jawab dilengkapi dengan media visual. Penilaian dilakukan menggunakan desain one group pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan kegiatan penyuluhan diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan ada peningkatan yang signifikan pada semua indikator, terutama mengenai zat adiktif yang terkandung dalam rokok, bahaya bagi perokok pasif, dampak dari karbon monoksida, serta strategi untuk mencegah kebiasaan merokok. Kegiatan ini terbukti berhasil dalam meningkatkan pemahaman, membentuk sikap anti merokok, dan mendorong kehidupan sehat tanpa merokok di kalangan remaja.
