Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of fair work practices and work-life balance among employees in high-intensity industries in Indonesia, and their effects on organizational outcomes, including job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and performance. Fair work practices are measured across four organizational justice dimensions: distributive, procedural, interactional, and informational justice. Work-life balance is assessed through time balance, involvement balance, and satisfaction balance, guided by boundary management theory. Using a quantitative correlational design, the study collected data from 300 professional employees working in technology, finance, consulting, and startup companies across Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali. Data were gathered via online questionnaires and enriched through semi-structured interviews, HR manager focus group discussions, and document analysis. Data analysis involved CFA, reliability testing, Pearson correlation, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), including mediation tests using bootstrapping. The results indicate that fair work practices have a positive and significant effect on work-life balance (β = 0.48; p < 0.001). Additionally, both fair work practices and work-life balance positively and significantly influence job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and performance. Work-life balance also significantly mediates the relationship between fair work practices and all organizational outcomes, with significant indirect effects. Overall, the findings highlight the importance of fair workplace policies to enhance employee well-being while supporting organizational performance in high-intensity work environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the adoption of eco-friendly products among urban millennials in Indonesia and to develop a predictive model and effective intervention strategies to reduce the green attitude–behavior gap. The research employed a mixed-methods design using a sequential explanatory approach: a quantitative phase through surveys to test relationships among variables and hypotheses, followed by a qualitative phase using in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, expert interviews, and observations in retail outlets. The population consisted of urban millennials aged 25–40 living in metropolitan cities with at least one million residents. The quantitative sample included 600 respondents, while the qualitative phase involved 40 participants plus experts and retail observations. The findings indicate that eco-friendly product adoption is significantly shaped by internal factors (environmental values and knowledge), external factors (social influence and economic conditions), and product characteristics (quality and innovativeness). Environmental values positively affect environmental concern (β = 0.52; p < 0.001), while price sensitivity negatively affects purchase intention (β = −0.32; p < 0.001). Product availability also enhances perceived behavioral control (β = 0.40; p < 0.001). The study further confirms moderating effects of green self-identity, income level, urban infrastructure, and product innovativeness. Four main adoption segments were identified (Green Champions, Selective Adopters, Price-sensitive Considerers, and Skeptical Non-adopters). The study proposes the Urban Millennial Green Adoption Model (UMGAM), integrating input factors (individual, social, contextual), processing mechanisms (cognitive, affective, behavioral), and adoption and impact outcomes. The results are expected to guide producers, retailers, and policymakers in designing more targeted strategies to promote sustainable consumption.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of hybrid work management on employee productivity and team collaboration in organizations implementing a work model that combines on-site (office) and remote work. The research aims to analyze how hybrid work management affects employee productivity and team collaboration, while also identifying supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The study uses a quantitative approach through surveys, complemented by qualitative analysis from literature review. One supporting study applies Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS. The findings indicate that hybrid work can significantly improve productivity—up to 82.4%—when backed by appropriate management practices and adequate technology. However, several challenges need to be addressed, including ineffective communication, social isolation, unequal access to information, and difficulties in monitoring performance. The study suggests that managers should conduct routine check-ins, leverage collaboration technologies, set clear expectations and work targets, and prioritize employee well-being to maintain team cohesion in hybrid working arrangements.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of influencer marketing on Generation Z purchase decisions on TikTok and to develop an explanatory understanding of the underlying influence mechanisms. The research is motivated by the changing marketing landscape driven by digital technology and the growing role of social media in consumer behavior. TikTok is strategically important due to its algorithmic distribution that amplifies content reach, while Generation Z’s characteristics—digital-native, visual-oriented, and short attention span—make them a distinctive target audience. The research employs a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, consisting of a quantitative phase using an online survey of 400 Gen Z respondents in Indonesia, followed by a qualitative phase involving in-depth interviews and netnography (30 informants and 50 TikTok accounts). The findings indicate that influencer marketing significantly affects Gen Z purchase decisions on TikTok. Influencer credibility is a critical factor influencing attitudes toward the product (β = 0.42, p < 0.001), while authenticity in content plays a stronger role in building trust in the influencer (β = 0.38, p < 0.001). Additionally, entertainment value increases engagement (β = 0.45, p < 0.001), and social proof enhances purchase intention (β = 0.32, p < 0.001). The influence operates through cognitive, affective, and social processes, further strengthened by TikTok’s algorithm that supports virality and accelerates social proof formation. The study concludes that Gen Z purchase decision-making is non-linear and multi-platform. It also proposes the TikTok Influencer Impact Model (TIIM) as an integrative framework linking input factors, processing mechanisms, and outcome stages. The results offer practical implications for brands, influencers, and TikTok in designing ethical and Gen Z-relevant marketing strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of empathetic leadership and employees’ mental health in realizing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in industrial companies in Indonesia. In the context of high job demands in the industry and the challenges of globalization and the Industrial Revolution 4.0, productivity needs to be balanced with good governance that prioritizes employee well-being. Using a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method, the research involved 250 permanent employees from 10 industrial companies in West Java, East Java, and Banten. The variables were measured using scales for Empathetic Leadership, Employees’ Mental Health, and GCG Implementation, with data analysis including validity and reliability tests, multiple regression, path analysis, and the Sobel test to examine mediation effects. The findings show that empathetic leadership is at a high level (mean = 3.85), employees’ mental health is at a moderate level (mean = 3.45), and GCG implementation is at a moderate-to-high level (mean = 3.60). Empathetic leadership has a positive and significant effect on employees’ mental health (coefficient = 0.542; p < 0.001) and also a positive and significant effect on GCG implementation (coefficient = 0.321; p < 0.001). Employees’ mental health further shows a positive and significant influence on GCG implementation (coefficient = 0.487; p < 0.001). In addition, employees’ mental health partially mediates the relationship between empathetic leadership and GCG implementation (mediation effect = 0.264; p < 0.001). These results highlight the importance of a more holistic GCG approach that considers human and psychological factors affecting employees.

Abstract

This study examines supply chain readiness management in the face of extreme, system-wide disruptions such as natural disasters (e.g., Hurricane Maria) and geopolitical issues (trade wars, regional conflicts, protectionist policies, and economic sanctions). The research focuses on strategies and practices that enhance supply chain resilience so companies can continue operating, maintain production continuity, and reduce operational costs and risks. Using a qualitative approach with documentary analysis across multiple sources—including IBM and Resilinc references, as well as case study literature on building supply chain resilience—the study finds that readiness can be strengthened through data-driven demand planning using big data and predictive analytics, logistics process automation, and end-to-end visibility supported by technologies such as AI and IoT. Additionally, companies should implement integrated risk management (periodic evaluations and scenario simulations/stress testing), strengthen cross-stakeholder collaboration (suppliers, distributors, logistics partners), and reduce geopolitical exposure through supplier diversification via multi-sourcing and nearshoring

Abstract

This study qualitatively examines the comparative business-scaling strategies of MSMEs: a high-technology approach versus a conservative model. Amid ongoing digital transformation, MSMEs face the need to adapt in order to strengthen competitiveness. The high-technology strategy focuses on digital marketing and sales, product innovation driven by market-trend and customer-preference analysis, and operational efficiency through systems such as ERP to streamline supply-chain management. In contrast, the conservative model tends to maintain manual operational practices and conventional, offline marketing. Although it may provide operational stability, it often limits innovation, reduces responsiveness to market dynamics, and constrains access to digital segments. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies. The findings indicate that adopting a high-technology strategy can enhance business performance by expanding market reach, enabling product differentiation, and improving operational efficiency. However, it requires substantial initial investment and organizational culture change, which is not always easy for all MSMEs. Therefore, the study recommends an integrative model: selective/partial digital transformation in key areas such as marketing, data management, and product innovation—while preserving proven traditional operational foundations. This should be supported by strengthening digital literacy and human-capital capacity, as well as collaboration among MSMEs and communities to accelerate innovation and optimize performance

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness and comparison between Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Objectives and Key Results (OKR) in performance management within industrial companies. KPI focuses on measuring operational outcomes that are quantifiable and generally stable for routine monitoring, whereas OKR emphasizes ambitious objectives assessed through key results within relatively short cycles, thereby encouraging innovation and faster adaptation to market changes. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, the research analyzes differences in focus, structure, time horizon, flexibility, and cross-functional implementation. The findings indicate that KPI is effective for ensuring consistent operational performance and supporting systematic identification of improvement areas, while OKR is more effective in building transparency, engagement, and cross-department collaboration to integrate strategic goals. In conclusion, KPI and OKR are complementary; selecting the most suitable approach should consider industry needs and organizational culture, and combining both can provide a comprehensive view of performance—from operational stability to strategic adaptability.

Abstract

This study examines stakeholder value management in public and private sector organizations using a qualitative approach. The research is grounded in the growing demand for transparency and good governance in the Indonesian context, which shapes how organizations manage and create value for stakeholders. The study aims to analyze stakeholder engagement strategies in both sectors, identify differences and similarities in organizational objectives, decision-making mechanisms, funding sources, and accountability, and evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies in generating long-term value (financial, social, and environmental). Data were collected through systematic literature study and analyzed using thematic and content analysis, supported by triangulation to ensure validity. The findings indicate that private sector organizations generally focus on creating economic value through market-oriented approaches such as customer loyalty programs, investor relations, and supply-chain collaboration. In contrast, public sector organizations prioritize social value through public consultation, transparency, and cross-institution collaboration. Digital technology also serves as a key driver for improving engagement efficiency and effectiveness in both sectors, although evaluation and responsiveness to feedback tend to differ due to institutional characteristics. The study provides practical recommendations to strengthen stakeholder value management performance in the digital and globalization era.
