Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Abstract

The Sacha Inchi plant possesses significant potential as it contains antioxidants, omega-3, omega-6, omega-9, saturated fats, and other bioactive compounds that are beneficial to human health. However, its utilization within the community remains limited, resulting in suboptimal economic value. This issue is addressed through an innovation that processes Sacha Inchi leaves into competitive herbal tea. The development process was conducted using a scientific approach, employing the Multi Factor Evaluation Process (MFEP) method along with organoleptic testing, which assessed aspects such as color, aroma, taste, aftertaste, infusion clarity, and the physical characteristics of the leaves. The results of the panelist evaluation and MFEP analysis indicated that the drying treatment using envelopes, whether outdoors (OUT A) or indoors (IN A), yielded the best organoleptic quality, particularly in terms of taste, aroma, and infusion clarity. This method was proven effective in preserving leaf pigments and bioactive compounds while simultaneously enhancing consumer acceptance. In addition to producing high-quality tea, this study successfully developed a tangible product in the form of star peanut leaf tea with attractive, hygienic packaging that is ready for market distribution. These findings demonstrate that innovations based on local resources not only contribute to the advancement of functional food products but also provide added economic value and support the empowerment of the Cikancung Village community.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious health problem in Indonesia, particularly in Sumedang Regency, which has a high prevalence rate of 27.6% according to the 2022 SSGI. One of the factors contributing to stunting is low appetite in children, which leads to inadequate nutrient intake. Through the Community Service Program (KKN) of Muhammadiyah University of Bandung, an innovation was developed to create healthy snacks in the form of gummies made from natural ingredients such as ginger, turmeric, citrus, honey, and gelatin. This program was packaged in the form of socialization and workshops with the women of the Bongkok Village PKK, with the aim of providing education and practical skills in processing spices into functional products. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm from the participants, active involvement in the manufacturing process, and positive acceptance of the gummy as a healthy snack to increase children's appetite. This innovation is expected to support stunting prevention efforts while opening up opportunities for community economic empowerment.

Abstract

Bullying is a serious issue in the educational environment that significantly affects children’s psychological and social development. This problem is still prevalent at the elementary school level, including at SDN Pelag in Nagrak Village, which highlights the need for preventive measures through education. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ understanding of bullying, covering its definition, types, impacts, and prevention strategies. The method employed was a quasi-experimental approach using a pre-test and post-test design, combined with participatory education through interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, self-reflection, and psychoeducation. The program involved 87 students from grades III to VI. The analysis results indicated a significant increase in students’ knowledge, shown by an improvement from 77% in the pre-test to 91% in the post-test. These findings demonstrate that participatory education effectively fosters awareness among students to reject bullying and helps create a safe and comfortable school environment. This program is expected to serve as a sustainable bullying prevention model through collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) conducted by Muhammadiyah University of Bandung in Nagrak Village aims to empower the community in maintaining environmental cleanliness in accordance with the potential of the region and available human resources. Specifically, this activity is aimed at enabling students to identify problems, foster community awareness of the environment, and encourage the community to cultivate Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Maggots as an alternative for managing organic waste. The research used a qualitative approach through field surveys, interviews, and secondary data analysis. The survey was conducted to determine the condition of waste management, while interviews with village officials, community leaders, and youth aimed to explore needs and appropriate solutions. The Maggot management program was implemented with an educational approach through socialization, namely providing an understanding of the differences between organic and non-organic waste and the benefits of Maggots in decomposing organic waste quickly and efficiently. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding and awareness in sorting waste, as well as the use of Maggots as alternative feed, for example for catfish. Thus, Maggot management not only contributes to reducing the volume of organic waste but also opens up new, environmentally friendly economic opportunities.

Abstract

Pungli stands for illegal levies, which is the act of requesting or receiving a sum of money or goods from the public by state officials or state administrators that are not in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations. Extortion is a form of abuse of authority and can be categorized as an act of corruption. Illegal collection or extortion is the practice of asking for payment that is not in accordance with regulations, often considered as extortion, fraud, or corruption. Factors that influence corruption include abuse of authority, mental aspects, economics, organizational culture, limited human resources, and weak supervision. Illegal fees are clearly regulated in the Criminal Code, but extortion, fraud, and illegal fees are interrelated criminal offenses. This research discusses extortion in schools, including its definition, causative factors, impact, and eradication strategies. It also discusses the roles and responsibilities of service implementers, supervisors, and the community in overcoming extortion in schools. Thus, this research hopes to understand more about extortion in schools and how we can address this issue to improve the quality of education and honesty in schools.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik melalui pemberdayaan Komunitas Belajar (Kombel). Program ini dirancang untuk mengatasi berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi guru, seperti kurangnya pelatihan berkelanjutan dan beban administrasi yang tinggi. Dengan pendekatan Service Learning, kegiatan ini melibatkan guru, kepala Madrasah, dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya dalam membangun dan merawat Kombel di lingkungan madrasah. Strategi pemberdayaan mencakup pembentukan kerangka kerja, pelatihan intensif, diskusi kolaboratif, serta penerapan siklus komunitas belajar di madrasah. Selain itu, teknologi digital dimanfaatkan untuk mendukung komunikasi dan berbagi sumber daya secara berkelanjutan. Pengabdian ini menghasilkan rancangan Komunitas Belajar, aktivitas komunitas belajar, keberlanjutan komunitas belajar, dan siklus inkuiri komunitas belajar di madrasah mitra dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik.

Abstract

Sosialisasi program gemar menabung berfokus pada pengembangan karakter, nilai, sikap, dan perilaku yang berkaitan dengan kebiasaan menbung dan pengelolaan keuangan yang bijak. Tujuan utamanya adalah membantu peserta didik, khususnya anak-anak, membentuk kepribadian yang positif serta seimbang dalam mengatur keuangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh Program Gemar Menabung terhadap Pembentukan Karakter hemat pada Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomelogis. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan siswa dan orangtua peserta program. Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk sosialisasi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai uang dan fungsinya melalui penggunaan celengan. Hasil sosialisasi menunjukkan bahwa program gemar menabung berdampak positif pada peningkatan perilaku hemat siswa. Peserta melaporkan adanya perubahan kebiasaan dalam mengelola uang, peningkatan kesadaran menabung, serta penguatan karakter hemat. Dengan demikian, program gemar menabung dapat menjadi strategi efektif pembentukan karakter hemat melalui pengalaman langsung dan interaksi sosial. Hasil ini diharapkan menjadi rujukan bagi guru dan sekolah dalam merancang program pendidikan karakter, khususnya karakter hemat dalam diri siswa.

Abstract

The establishment of the Ombudsman Institution aims to change the paradigm of public service that tends to be long-winded and prioritizes certain parties to a public service that serves all levels of society and can satisfy the public as consumers. This institution is expected to be a solution to the many public dissatisfaction with the implementation of public services that often cause material and immaterial losses for the community. The public who experience disputes regarding public service maladministration can report these to the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia. Research on the role of the Ombudsman in the effectiveness of resolving public service maladministration disputes is important to determine whether equality and justice for all people have been achieved. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the Ombudsman in effectively resolving public service maladministration disputes. The research method used in this study is normative legal research. In this study, it was found that the effectiveness of the Ombudsman's role in resolving maladministration disputes was quite good and effective, but there were still many people who were not aware of the existence of this institution and also the regulations were still overlapping so that the results of the Ombudsman were not strong enough to be binding.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to increase adolescent girls’ knowledge about anemia, including its causes, symptoms, impacts, and prevention efforts. The method used was an observational analytic design with a pretest–posttest approach involving 31 adolescent girls selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 15 questions, followed by an interactive health education session using leaflet media. The results showed that the mean knowledge score of respondents increased from 42.90 at the pretest to 80.65 at the posttest. The Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention. These findings demonstrate that health education using leaflets is effective in improving adolescent girls’ knowledge about anemia. It is recommended that adolescent girls apply the information gained through balanced nutrition and adherence to Iron-Folic Acid (IFA) tablet consumption. Furthermore, health centers and health workers are encouraged to carry out continuous education, strengthen the school-based IFA supplementation program, and monitor adherence as a sustainable strategy for anemia prevention.

Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a curriculum program that gives students the opportunity to apply knowledge, think critically, and gain practical experience within the community. The KKN program in Singajaya Village, West Bandung Regency, was conducted to address environmental issues, particularly regarding organic waste management and waterlogging. Initial observations revealed that the community did not fully understand the benefits and application of biopore infiltration holes. Using a qualitative method, students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung conducted a socialization and implementation of biopore infiltration holes (LRB) as a simple, economical, and environmentally friendly solution. As a result, the program successfully increased community awareness about organic waste management. LRB was proven effective in converting waste into compost, reducing waste accumulation, and preventing waterlogging, which in the long run can help prevent flooding. The program received a positive response, and the community hopes that LRB can be more widely implemented to ensure environmental sustainability in the village.
