Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Abstract

The collaborative community service program conducted by lecturers and students of the Civic Education Department, Faculty of Social Sciences, Gorontalo State University, aimed to strengthen legal awareness among students of SMA Negeri 1 Telaga as an effort to prevent legal violations from an early age. This program was motivated by the low level of students’ understanding of legal values, as identified through preliminary observations. The implementation adopted a participatory approach that emphasized students’ active involvement in various educational activities, including legal counseling, group discussions, case simulations, and digital-based legal awareness campaigns. The stages of implementation consisted of preparation (needs analysis, activity planning, and coordination with the school) and execution (legal education sessions, integration into learning activities, extracurricular programs, and evaluation). The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ legal knowledge and attitudes, where they began to perceive law not merely as a coercive instrument but as a moral and social guideline that ensures order and justice. Moreover, students demonstrated behavioral changes toward greater discipline, responsibility, and awareness of the legal consequences of their actions. This program shows that civic education effectively fosters strong legal character and serves as a foundation for developing young generations who are law-abiding, have integrity, and contribute positively to society and the natio.

Abstract

This community service program aims to build multicultural awareness among students of SMK Negeri 5 Gorontalo through participatory and contextual learning activities. The program was carried out by involving lecturers, students, and teachers through several stages, including material delivery, group discussions, case studies, role-playing, creative workshops, and reflection sessions. This approach was designed to ensure that students not only understand the concept of multiculturalism theoretically but are also able to internalize the values of tolerance, cooperation, and mutual respect in their daily school life. Data were collected through field observations and questionnaires distributed to 104 students in the initial stage and 31 students during the final evaluation stage. The analysis results show an average increase of 30–35% across all indicators of multicultural awareness, particularly in aspects of cross-cultural interaction (P3), understanding of cooperation as a multicultural value (P7), and acceptance of linguistic diversity (P9). These improvements indicate that the program successfully transformed students’ mindsets from passive acceptance to reflective understanding and inclusive attitudes toward diversity. Thus, multicultural education has proven to be an effective means of shaping students’ character to become tolerant, adaptive, and capable of living harmoniously within a pluralistic society.

Abstract

Distal radial buckle fractures are the most common forearm injuries in children and generally heal well with conservative management. Vitamin D plays a crucial role in calcium metabolism and bone mineralization, although its influence on the rate of fracture healing in children remains controversial. We report the case of a 3-year-old child with a distal radial buckle fracture following a fall from a standing position. The patient was treated conservatively with short-arm immobilization and empiric vitamin D supplementation (400 IU twice daily) without serum levels being measured. After 4 weeks, radiographs showed significant callus formation and full recovery. Conservative immobilization remains the gold standard due to its excellent outcomes with minimal complications. Although evidence for the effectiveness of vitamin D is inconsistent, it biologically supports bone formation through osteoblast differentiation, collagen synthesis, and calcium balance. In populations with mild vitamin D deficiency, supplementation can accelerate callus formation and improve radiographic findings. This case demonstrates early callus formation, likely influenced by the synergistic effect of immobilization and vitamin D. Conservative management is effective for buckle fracture healing, and vitamin D supplementation, even in the absence of confirmed deficiency, may promote bone remodeling and accelerate healing.

Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen the national character of SMA Negeri 1 Kabila students in facing the increasingly complex challenges of globalization. The activity was carried out through the method of lectures and interactive dialogues which were carried out offline with three main stages, namely observation, material delivery, and evaluation. Observations were carried out to identify the initial level of students' understanding of national values. The material delivery stage is carried out through a combination of lectures and interactive dialogues to encourage students' active involvement in the learning process, while the evaluation stage aims to assess the improvement of their understanding and appreciation of national values. The results of the activity showed that the participants had a good basic understanding of the importance of national character and showed awareness of the need for continuous coaching. Nevertheless, there are still some challenges, such as a lack of a deep understanding of the nature of nationalism, diverse perceptions of the influence of globalization, and gaps between conceptual understanding and the application of national values in daily life. This activity concluded that although the foundations of student understanding have been formed, a sustainable and comprehensive approach is needed to transform national values into tangible behaviors. The recommendations proposed include the development of a follow-up program that focuses on internalizing values through concrete practices, intensive mentoring, and strengthening the role of schools as an environment of habituation. Overall, this service activity has a positive impact on increasing students' national awareness, strengthening their understanding of the nation's noble values, and equipping them with the ability to respond critically to the flow of globalization without losing their identity as an Indonesian nation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat komitmen organisasi guru dan hubungannya dengan kehadiran serta kedisiplinan dalam mengajar di SMK Negeri 11 Muaro Jambi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, melalui metode pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa mayoritas guru memiliki komitmen organisasi yang tinggi, terutama pada aspek afektif dan normatif, yang tercermin dari ketepatan waktu dalam hadir serta kepatuhan terhadap jadwal dan aturan yang berlaku di sekolah. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat sebagian kecil guru yang menunjukkan ketidakkonsistenan dalam hal kesiapan perangkat pembelajaran dan ketepatan waktu mengajar. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi tingkat kedisiplinan guru meliputi motivasi dan rasa tanggung jawab sebagai faktor internal, serta kondisi transportasi dan sistem pengawasan kepala sekolah sebagai faktor eksternal. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa komitmen organisasi berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kehadiran dan kedisiplinan guru dalam menjalankan tugasnya di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan model Project-Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) dalam pembelajaran Informatika pada materi presentasi untuk mengoptimalkan keterampilan kolaborasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 18 Malang. PjBL memberikan pengalaman belajar aktif melalui proyek nyata, sementara CRT mengakomodasi keberagaman budaya siswa agar tercipta lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan relevan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus dengan subjek 32 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, rubrik penilaian kolaborasi, dan wawancara. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PjBL berbasis CRT meningkatkan partisipasi aktif, tanggung jawab tim, serta kemampuan komunikasi antaranggota kelompok. Pengintegrasian nilai budaya lokal dalam proyek juga meningkatkan motivasi dan rasa dihargai siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi PjBL dan CRT efektif dalam membentuk pembelajaran yang kolaboratif, bermakna, dan transformatif. Guru Informatika disarankan mengembangkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang responsif terhadap keberagaman siswa.

Abstract

The community service program conducted by lecturers and students of the Civic Education (PPKn) Undergraduate Program at Gorontalo State University at SMK Negeri 4 Gorontalo aimed to foster students’ awareness and appreciation of diversity values through educational, reflective, and participatory approaches. This program was designed as a strategic effort to strengthen students’ understanding, attitudes, and behaviors toward cultural, religious, and social diversity within the school environment. The implementation method employed a participatory research approach based on observation and the distribution of a diversity questionnaire covering cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. The questionnaire was used to map students’ perceptions of tolerance, solidarity, and attitudes toward differences, which then served as the foundation for organizing interactive activities such as national dialogue sessions. The evaluation results indicated that students of SMK Negeri 4 Gorontalo demonstrated a positive understanding of diversity values, with the majority showing openness, tolerance, and readiness to actively contribute to maintaining unity. Nevertheless, it was found that affective and conative aspects still required reinforcement so that diversity values would not only be understood cognitively but also internalized and practiced in daily life. Overall, this community service activity successfully enhanced multicultural awareness and strengthened students’ national character as young generations committed to unity in diversity.

Abstract

Perkembangan era digital membawa perubahan signifikan terhadap dinamika organisasi di berbagai sektor, mulai dari pendidikan, pemerintahan, hingga dunia bisnis. Dalam konteks ini, kepemimpinan transformasional dipandang sebagai model kepemimpinan yang tepat untuk menghadapi tantangan digitalisasi. Artikel ini bertujuan menelaah peran kepemimpinan transformasional dalam meningkatkan kinerja, keterlibatan pegawai, serta kesiapan organisasi dalam menghadapi era digital. Penelitian dilakukan melalui studi literatur dengan meninjau empat artikel ilmiah yang membahas hubungan kepemimpinan transformasional dengan digitalisasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan ini berkontribusi positif terhadap penguatan inovasi, peningkatan kinerja individu dan organisasi, serta kemampuan beradaptasi dengan teknologi digital. Temuan ini menekankan urgensi kepemimpinan yang mampu memberi inspirasi, memotivasi, serta memberdayakan anggota organisasi agar tetap tangguh dan berkembang di tengah disrupsi digital.

Abstract

The postpartum period is a critical phase after childbirth that carries a high risk of complications for both mother and baby, thus requiring special attention through health education. This community service activity aimed to improve postpartum mothers’ knowledge and behavior regarding self-care and newborn care at PMB Ferawati Palembang. The activity was conducted in August 2025, involving 20 postpartum mothers through interactive lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. The pre-test and post-test results showed an increase in knowledge of self-care from 65% to 90% and newborn care from 70% to 92%. In addition, mothers began to adopt healthy behaviors such as breast care, maintaining perineal hygiene, and recognizing postpartum danger signs. Structured and interactive health education proved effective in improving knowledge and shaping healthy behavior among postpartum mothers. The active role of midwives as educators and companions was a key factor in the program’s success. This activity can serve as a sustainable intervention model to improve maternal and infant health in the community.
