Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Abstract

Writing is a complex skill for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, particularly in terms of grammatical accuracy. One common grammatical problem found in students’ writing is the occurrence of run-on sentence errors, which reduce clarity and coherence. This study aimed to analyze the types of run-on sentence errors produced by Indonesian EFL learners and to examine how these errors can be reconstructed into well-formed English sentences. The study employed a qualitative descriptive research design involving eighthgrade junior high school students selected through purposive sampling. The data were collected from students’ handwritten descriptive paragraphs and analyzed by identifying run-on sentence errors, classifying them into types, and reconstructing the incorrect sentences using appropriate punctuation and coordinating conjunctions. The findings revealed two main types of run-on sentence errors: fused sentences and comma splices, with fused sentences occurring more frequently. The results indicate that learners experience difficulties in recognizing sentence boundaries and applying correct punctuation in English. The study suggests that explicit instruction focusing on sentence structure and clause relationships is essential to reduce run-on sentence errors in EFL writing.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil studi awal bahwa banyak guru SMK Swasta Surya Pematangsiantar belum mengetahui konsep pembelajaran terdiferensiasi kurikulum merdeka dan belum pernah mendapatkan pelatihan mengenai multimedia pembelajaran. Selain itu, guru belum memahami konsep dan implementasi pembelajaran terdiferensiasi, guru masih menggunakan pendekatan, media, dan metode mengajar konvensionaltanpa melibatkan atau menggunakan multimedia pembelajaran. Dan yang terakhir, guru belum pernah mengikuti pelatihan pembuatan dan pengembangan multimedia pembelajaran interaktif, apalagi berbasis teknologi. Tujuan PkM ini adalah memberikan pelatihan pembuatan multimedia interaktif berbasis teknologi untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran terdiferensiasi kurikulum merdeka yang terbagi atas empat kegiatan utama. Metode kegiatan PkM ini meliputi tahap persiapan program yang meliputi analisis situasi, kebutahan dan persiapan kebutuhan pelatihan. Selanjutnya, tahap pelaksanaan meliputi kegiatan pemberian materi pelatihan. Dan yang terakhir adalah tahap monitoring dan evaluasi serta keberlanjutan program yang meliputi pengumpulan data hasil pelatihan dan tindaklanjutnya. Terdapat empat hasil dari kegiatan PkM ini, pertama, Telah terselenggaranya pelatihan berupa pemberian materi pelatihan mengenai kurikulum merdeka, pembelajaran terdiferensiasi dan multimedia pembelajaran interaktif. Kedua, telahterselenggara pelatihan peningkatan keahlian guru dalam membuat materi pembelajaran terdiferensiasi yang sesuai dengan kurikulum merdeka. Ketiga, telah terselenggara workshop pembuatan multimediapembelajaran interaktif berbasis teknologi. Keempat, telah terselenggara pendampingan pembuatan multimediapembelajaran interaktif bagi mitra. Kesimpulan dari PkM adalah ada peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra PkM dalam hal ini guru SMK Swasta Surya Pematangsiantar mengenai kurikulum merdeka, pembelajaran terdiferensisi, multimedia interaktif dan perangkat ajar kurikulum merdeka

Abstract

Kegiatan membangun generasi peduli lingkungan dalam kegiatan bersih-bersih taman di kampus agar menjadi generasi muda yang selalu tanggung jawab. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membina generasi muda yang peduli terhadap lingkungan melalui pelaksanaan kegiatan bersih-bersih taman di kampus. Kegiatan bersih-bersih di kampus menerapkan strategi Pengembangan Komunitas Berbasis Aset (ABCD) untuk meningkatkan lingkungan dan kualitas hidup mahasiswa. Pemanfaatan aset lokal dan potensi mahasiswa sebagai penggerak utama kegiatan merupakan dasar dari strategi Pengembangan Komunitas Berbasis Aset (ABCD) ini. Selain meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan, kegiatan ini memotivasi mahasiswa untuk aktif melestarikan dan merawat taman, yang merupakan area hijau yang memiliki signifikansi sosial dan ekologis. Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran dan tanggung jawab mahasiswa terhadap lingkungan kampus, yang tercermin dari partisipasi mereka yang konsisten dalam kegiatan kebersihan dan perawatan taman. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan partisipasi efektif dalam membentuk sikap peduli lingkungan pada generasi muda. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan lingkungan perlu diteruskan dan diintegrasi dalam aktivitas akademik dan sosial kampus guna mendukung kelestarian lingkungan secara berkelanjutan. Rekomendasi kegiatan ini adalah agar pihak kampus memperkuat program komunitas yang melibatkan mahasiswa dalam pelestarian lingkungan agar hasilnya lebih optimal dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Peran generasi muda dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan merupakan elemen penting untuk mewujudkan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Pemanfaatan teknologi dan media digital memberikan ruang luas bagi mereka untuk menyebarkan edukasi lingkungan secara kreatif, efektif, dan menjangkau masyarakat dalam skala yang lebih besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana inisiatif kebersihan yang dilakukan oleh pemuda melalui media edukasi mampu meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Dengan menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR), penelitian ini menelaah proses perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi dari berbagai aktivitas kebersihan yang melibatkan generasi muda, termasuk penggunaan media edukatif seperti video kampanye, Infograhis, konten digital, dan kelas lingkungan. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa generasi muda berperan sebagai agen perubahan yang efektif, tidak hanya dalam penyebaran pengetahuan, tetapi juga dalam membentuk sikap peduli lingkungan dan mendorong tindakan nyata melalui kampanye digital maupun kegiatan lapangan. Media edukasi terbukti memperkuat daya jangkau pesan, meningkatkan interaksi publik, serta memfasilitasi kolaborasi antara pemuda, masyarakat, dan lembaga terkait. Secara keseluruhan, integrasi gerakan kebersihan dan pemanfaatan media edukasi mampu memperkuat budaya peduli lingkungan yang berkelanjutan di masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the model of leadership based on Islamic values in responding to the organizational challenges of 21st-century education at Ma'had Tahfidz Tafaqquh, Kampar, Riau. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research collected data through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The participants included leaders, educators, and senior students involved in decision-making and policy implementation at the institution. The data analysis revealed three main themes: (1) transformative leadership based on Islamic values focusing on character development and 21st-century skills, (2) managing changes and educational challenges by integrating technology while maintaining Islamic principles, and (3) the role of the community in creating an adaptive learning environment. These findings contribute to the understanding of how Islamic values-based leadership can be adapted to address modern educational challenges and provide practical guidance for other Islamic educational institutions. In conclusion, this study has significant implications for the development of Islamic education leadership theory and offers insights for designing policies that support the integration of Islamic values with educational technology.

Abstract

Almetta Egg Strips Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMK) is a home industry established in 2011 in Jambi City, owned by Mrs. Dewi Safrida, with 11 employees in production, packaging, and marketing. The products produced include egg strips, various chips, and rempeyek, which have been marketed in local stores, but have not yet entered modern retail due to limited packaging and financial records. An initial survey identified three main problems: conventional marketing, low literacy and technology-based financial records, and limited production equipment. This PKM activity aims to increase the competitiveness of MSEs by strengthening digital marketing, financial management, and modernizing production equipment. The program was implemented for eight months in a participatory manner by lecturers and students of Adiwangsa University Jambi through digital marketing and e-commerce training, digital financial application assistance, online store development, and the provision of production equipment. Activity outputs included redesigning packaging according to modern retail standards, implementing the SIApik application, preparing simple financial reports, and activating social media and online stores. As a result, partners have implemented digital financial recording, online marketing has begun to develop, and production efficiency and quality have increased, so that MSEs have become more modern, efficient, and adaptive to the digital economy and support the achievement of SDGs, KPIs, and the vision of Adiwangsa University Jambi.

Abstract

Accountable and transparent financial management of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) is crucial for business sustainability and public trust, yet many BUMDes lack adequate internal audit and control systems. This community service program aims to strengthen BUMDes financial governance through the implementation of a simple, participatory, and village-specific internal audit system. The program was conducted in Pematang Serai Village, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency, involving BUMDes administrators, village officials, and the community. The methods used included outreach, group discussions, mentoring in the development of internal audit systems and financial SOPs, and the implementation of internal audits. The results demonstrated an increase in administrators' understanding and skills in recording transactions, preparing financial reports, and internal audits. The program also produced documents on internal audit systems, SOPs, and sustainable financial reporting formats. The program also increased community participation and awareness of transparency and accountability, leading to more open and responsible BUMDes financial management.

Abstract

Strengthening moral education and life skills is an urgent need amidst globalization and advances in digital technology. Education is no longer solely cognitively oriented; it must balance character development, ethics, and life skills. Japan is known for consistently integrating moral education and life skills into its national curriculum through a holistic approach. This study aims to analyze the integration of moral education and life skills in the Japanese education curriculum and compare it with the education curriculum in Indonesia. The research method used is library research by reviewing various scientific sources in the form of journals, books, and relevant education policy documents. The results of the study indicate that the Japanese curriculum is based on a holistic education philosophy (zenshin kyōiku) which emphasizes the balance of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects through the Chi–Toku–Tai principle. Moral education (dōtoku) and life skills are implemented in an integrated manner through learning activities, school culture, and students' daily activities. Compared to Indonesia, the Japanese curriculum is more consistent in building character, discipline, social responsibility, and work ethic from elementary school. These findings encourage the integration of moral education, life skills, positive school culture, and balanced assessment into the national curriculum.

Abstract

Abstract The capital market relies on integrity and transparency of information. In the Initial Public Offering (IPO) process, the prospectus is the central document containing material facts as the basis for investment decisions. However, the complexity of the information contained in the prospectus opens up the risk of misstatements or omissions that can harm investors. The Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners, as the company's management and supervisory organs, bear legal responsibility to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information through due diligence mechanisms as a standard of prudence (duty of care) and a manifestation of fiduciary duty. This article examines the construction of the Directors' and Commissioners' liability for prospectus misstatements under the Capital Market Law (UUPM) and the Limited Liability Law (UUPT), including civil liability, particularly joint and several liability under Article 80 of the UUPM, the scope for defense through due diligence defense and the relevance of the business judgment rule, as well as criminal and administrative consequences. Strengthening regulations through Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (UU P2SK) emphasizes the enforcement dimension, including increased sanctions and the strengthening of the Financial Services Authority (OJK)'s role in mitigating IPO risks.

Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) has become a major catalyst in digital economic transformation and pedagogical innovation. This community service activity aims to disseminate tips for increasing income for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and educators through the use of Meta AI. This program was implemented across islands in four specific locations: Tanjung Binga Village (Sumatra), Teluk Lerong Village (Kalimantan), Panggungharjo Village (Java), and Salassae Village (Sulawesi). The methods used included interactive workshops, technical assistance on the use of Meta AI's generative features for marketing content, and optimization of virtual assistants in creating monetization-based teaching materials. The results of the activity showed an 85% increase in digital literacy among participants and a readiness to adopt AI technology for operational strategies. The use of Meta AI has been proven to reduce marketing content production costs by up to 60%, which directly has the potential to increase profit margins for MSMEs and provide additional income opportunities for educators through the creation of educational digital products.
