Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Jurnal JERKIN: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is under the auspices of the Faculty of Education, Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. The journal is registered with E-ISSN: 2961-9890. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is published four times a year in September, December, March and June. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan receives 50 articles per issue. Abstract

This community engagement program aimed to empower women's farmer groups through horticultural cultivation training, focusing on water spinach (kangkung), to optimize the use of yard land owned by the PKK Danau Keman group in Setiris Village, Maro Sebo Subdistrict, Muaro Jambi Regency. The PKK Danau Keman group consists of 20 members who had not previously utilized their 10 m² yard effectively. Using a participatory extension method, the members were equipped with practical knowledge and skills in horticultural cultivation, including land preparation, planting, harvesting, and product marketing. The results show that all members were able to implement cultivation techniques independently. The harvested kangkung is regularly sold, contributing to the group’s income. This activity not only improved technical skills but also enhanced women's roles in food security and household economy. The program proved effective as a community-based empowerment model that can be replicated in similar regions

Abstract

This study aims to explore the strategies used by educators to foster students' creativity through the Project to Strengthen the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5). It also examines the challenges encountered during the implementation of these strategies and analyzes their implications for developing students’ creative abilities in Grade IV at SD Negeri 1 Kemenuh. Theories used are constructivism and behaviorism. The research subjects are Grade IV educators and students at SD Negeri 1 Kemenuh. Data were collected through non-participant observation, interviews, document study, and literature review, then analyzed using an interactive qualitative method: data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that project-based and problem-based learning strategies encourage creativity through active participation, technology use, and hands-on practice. Challenges include limited time, facilities, and diverse student characteristics, yet they can be addressed through guidance and collaboration. The applied strategies positively impacted students' confidence, creative ideas, and learning enthusiasm.

Abstract

Bugis language is language of communication, meaning that Bugis language is used to communicate between individuals who know the language. Bugis language has been known in the archipelago, because the Bugis people have immigrated to various places and have spread widely outside South Sulawesi. This study uses a qualitative research type, presentation of descriptive data in the form of words and santences written, or spoken from the observed humor speakers. Based on the results of the study, the researcher found that there were several humors in the Bugis language that were often used by people in everyday life. In the focus of the study, the forms of humor found were 3 forms, namely humor in the forms of satire, forms of humor in everyday life and funny hyperbolic humor. In the focus of the third study, the function, of humor found by the researcher was 4 functions, namely easing tension, there were 2 humors, teaching others to see problems from various angles, there were 2 humors, entertaining, there were 3 humors, making someone aware and making someone tolerate something, there were 2 humors.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to: (1) describe the use of the Thesaurus and VlogNow applications as media tools for enhancing poetry writing skills, and (2) describe students' ability in utilizing the Thesaurus and VlogNow applications in writing poetry texts. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data in this study consist of students’ poetry texts and poetry videos created through the application of the Thesaurus and VlogNow media tools. The results of the study indicate that the use of the Thesaurus and VlogNow applications has a positive impact on improving students' poetry writing skills. Students became more active and motivated in participating in poetry writing lessons. This is evident from the increase in the average score achieved by students after using the Thesaurus and VlogNow applications, which reached 87.36. This score is significantly higher than the average score before using the Thesaurus application, which was 51.79. This success demonstrates that innovations in teaching methods can have a significantly positive effect, especially in Indonesian language subjects, which are often perceived as difficult by some students

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (a) the implementation of Index Card Match media-based teaching modules in learning the skills of writing observation report texts, (b) the implementation of Index Card Match media in learning activities, and (c) student learning outcomes after the implementation of Index Card Match media in learning to write observation report texts. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a natural observation type. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of open modules with the integration of Index Card Match media is systematically arranged by containing learning components that are in accordance with the Independent Curriculum. The implementation of Index Card Match media in learning shows positive results. During the activity, students looked enthusiastic and active in interacting with their peers. This is evidenced by the results of the final test which showed an average score of 72.63. This value shows that most students have achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) in the Independent Curriculum because the independent curriculum no longer uses the term KKM or Minimum Completion Criteria set by the school.

Abstract

This study examines the problem of disputes over the transfer of customary land rights in Lereng Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency, with a focus on increasing public legal awareness. The existence of customary law communities in Indonesia is recognized, including their customary rights, in accordance with Article 18B of the 1945 Constitution and related laws and regulations. However, the lack of understanding of positive law and customary law, as well as applicable procedures, is often the cause of disputes. Through legal counseling activities carried out on June 2, 2025 by the Faculty of Law, Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University, the community, especially traditional leaders and local residents, showed an increase in understanding regarding the meaning and position of customary rights in the national legal system, the legal procedures for transferring customary rights, and the legal risks of transferring rights that are not in accordance with the mechanism. It was found that disputes often arise due to ignorance of legal procedures and the absence of official documentation. Therefore, this counseling emphasizes the importance of involving the authorities (notaries, BPN, customary institutions, village officials) and making written documents to avoid future disputes.

Abstract

Nurses play a crucial role in healthcare services but frequently face a high workload, including physical and mental demands, limited resources, patient dependency, and an imbalanced nurse-to-patient ratio. These conditions contribute to increased stress and decreased performance among clinical nurses, particularly in inpatient care settings. This study aims to explore the perceptions of clinical nurses regarding high workloads in the inpatient unit of Sungai Bahar Regional Public Hospital. A qualitative method with a descriptive phenomenological approach was employed. Nine participants were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via in-depth interviews and analyzed using Collaizi's method. Four main themes emerged from the data: (1) general overview of high workload with unfulfilled welfare and recognition; (2) contributing factors to workload, especially the disproportionate number of patients to nurses; (3) the impact of workload on emotional control and patient safety; and (4) nurses' coping strategies and expectations, including task delegation, prioritization, time management, and self-distraction to reduce stress. These findings provide in-depth insights into nurses' experiences and may inform hospital management policies aimed at improving nurse well-being and patient care quality..

Abstract

Sistem manajemen yang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas, mempercepat pengambilan keputusan, serta mengoptimalkan keterlibatan karyawan harus dimiliki oleh organisasi untuk menghadapi persaingan bisnis yang semakin ketat. Salah satu keunggulan utama dari MBO adalah kemampuan dalam mengarahkan dan menyelaraskan seluruh bagian organisasi dalam mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Dengan menerapkan prinsip SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound), MBO membantu perusahaan untuk lebih fokus dalam menetapkan prioritas serta mengukur pencapaian kinerja secara objektif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan MBO dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Metode kuantitatif dengan alat bantu SPSS 25 digunakan pada peneltian ini melalui teknik pengumpulan data penyebaran e-kuesioner kepada 102 karyawan baik di level manajer, supervisor dan karyawan tetap bagian officer PT DEXT di Kabupaten Karawang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah koefisien regresi dari MBO sebesar 0,391 artinya pengaruh penerapan MBO dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan adalah 39,1%, sedangkan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 0,391 artinya pengaruh penerapan MBO dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan adalah positif. Hasil uji secara parsial uji t menunjukkan bahwa variabel independen memiliki pengaruh terhadap variabel dependen dengan nilai t sebesar 6,943 dan signifikansi 0,000.

Abstract

Academic stress is a common issue frequently experienced by both school and university students. This condition is typically triggered by various academic demands, such as heavy workloads, examination schedules, and pressure to achieve high performance. This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of classical music therapy as a non-pharmacological intervention for reducing academic stress. Based on an analysis of eight research journals, classical music therapy has been shown to significantly reduce stress levels among students at various educational levels. For example, a study by Cahyani et al. (2024) demonstrated that the combination of natural sound music and progressive muscle relaxation effectively reduced stress in final-year university students (p=0.012). Literature reviews by Yuliana et al. (2023) and Febrianti et al. (2023) reported that classical music, particularly Mozart’s compositions, stimulates alpha and beta brain waves and regulates stress hormones such as ACTH, showing significant results after 20-minute sessions over a two-month period. Seprian et al. (2023) also found that instrumental music at 432 Hz effectively reduced academic stress in nursing students (p=0.000). Overall, despite variations in music types, classical music consistently demonstrates positive psychological and physiological effects. Therefore, classical music is considered an effective, accessible intervention and is recommended for further research to strengthen empirical evidence.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a strategic government policy in an effort to tackle stunting, improve the nutrition of school-age children, and encourage equitable welfare. This study aims to describe the pilot implementation of the MBG program at SMP Negeri 4 Tangerang and evaluate its impact on students. Using a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results show that the program is running well thanks to the cooperation between the school, government, and food providers. The positive impact can be seen from the increased learning focus, student health, and active participation of parents. In addition, the program also helped shape healthy eating habits among students. However, the sustainability of the program still faces challenges related to budget and long-term policies. Therefore, regular evaluation and expansion of program coverage to 3T areas are needed to ensure long-term success.
