Abstract

This study discusses the role of Islamic educational philosophy in guiding the transformation of pesantren education in the modern era. Islamic education in Indonesia plays an important role in shaping students’ character, spirituality, and intellectual abilities, with pesantren as one of the oldest institutions that preserve Islamic values. However, the rapid development of globalization and technology requires pesantren to adapt without losing their identity. This research aims to explain how Islamic educational philosophy becomes the foundation for transformation and to identify forms of change that are relevant to current challenges. The study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review, collecting data from journals and other relevant sources. Data are analyzed using content analysis by organizing and comparing findings from different studies. The results show that pesantren transformation occurs through a selective adaptation process, combining traditional values such as moral education, spirituality, and classical learning with modern elements like curriculum integration, interactive learning methods, and digital technology. Some challenges still exist, including limited facilities, unequal access to technology, and the need to improve teacher competence. Islamic educational philosophy helps maintain balance between intellectual, spiritual, and moral aspects so that modernization does not eliminate pesantren identity.

Abstract

The digital era has transformed Islamic da'wah from conventional methods into more interactive and accessible forms through social media platforms such as TikTok. This research aims to analyze the utilization of social media as a da'wah information system in increasing Generation Z participation on Kadam Sidik's TikTok account (@basyasman). Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through systematic observation, documentation, and analysis of audience interactions within the platform. The findings reveal that Kadam Sidik successfully attracts and maintains audience engagement by prioritizing logical, contextual, and substantial Islamic studies that are closely related to contemporary youth issues without relying on viral music trends or sensational content. Furthermore, the communication strategy employed, characterized by a casual, persuasive, and interactive approach through comment sections and live streaming features, effectively encourages active participation in the form of likes, comments, shares, and discussions. The study highlights that adaptive content presentation, credibility of the da'i, and audience-oriented communication are essential factors in ensuring the sustainability of digital da'wah. It concludes that an integrated information system on TikTok can transform the platform into a credible and effective medium for religious education among the digital generation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of spiritual leadership in the management of Islamic education at Raudhatul Mutaallimin Institution. Spiritual leadership is an approach that emphasizes values such as faith, sincerity, trustworthiness, and exemplary behavior in carrying out responsibilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with research subjects consisting of the institution’s leader, teachers, and educational staff. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity is ensured through triangulation. The results of the study show that spiritual leadership at Raudhatul Mutaallimin Institution is implemented in various aspects of management, such as decision-making based on deliberation and justice, guidance of teachers and staff through role modeling and togetherness, and the habituation of Islamic values in students’ daily activities. In addition, spiritual leadership plays a role in shaping a religious, disciplined, and harmonious institutional culture. The implementation of spiritual leadership has a positive impact on the institutional environment, teacher performance, and students’ character development. However, there are still several challenges, such as differences in understanding, limited human resources, and the demands of modern management. In conclusion, spiritual leadership can be an effective approach in improving the quality of Islamic education management, particularly in creating an educational environment that excels not only academically but also in moral and spiritual values.

Abstract

This article examines the leadership of Bu Nyai at Al-Azhar Azzayadiyah Islamic Boarding School as a representation of gender equality within traditional Islamic educational institutions. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies as data collection techniques. The research focuses on how Bu Nyai exercises leadership authority within a pesantren environment that has long been influenced by patriarchal values.\n\nThe findings reveal that Bu Nyai’s leadership is not only cultural and spiritual in nature, but also reflects the transformation of women’s roles within Islamic boarding schools. In carrying out her leadership, Bu Nyai applies charismatic, transformational, and value-based leadership styles grounded in Islamic teachings on justice and equality. This leadership is reflected in her ability to guide students, manage educational activities, build harmonious social relationships, and motivate members of the pesantren community.\n\nFurthermore, the presence of Bu Nyai as a leader demonstrates that women possess equal capabilities in developing Islamic educational institutions. The findings of this study provide important contributions to the development of gender studies in Islamic education in Indonesia, particularly regarding the strategic role of women in pesantren leadership.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has transformed various aspects of human life, including the way religious teachings are conveyed. Da’wah activities, which were traditionally conducted through direct meetings, regular study gatherings, and religious assemblies, have now evolved into the dissemination of religious messages through digital media. This shift is made possible by advancements in internet technology, various communication applications, and other online platforms. Such changes demand structured information management to ensure that da’wah processes remain organized, effective, and aligned with modern progress.This paper aims to examine the role of management information systems in supporting the transformation of Islamic da’wah within the technological era. The study employs a literature review method, analyzing relevant scientific references, books, and previous publications. The results indicate that the system assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating technology-based da’wah activities. Moreover, adopting digital tools broadens outreach, enhances communication quality, and allows the public to access religious materials conveniently anytime and anywhere.Despite these positive impacts, this transformation faces challenges such as low technological literacy, data security risks, misinformation, and limited human resources skilled in technology. Therefore, developing more sophisticated information systems and improving digital competence among da’wah managers are essential to ensure Islamic propagation runs optimally and remains relevant to current developments.

Abstract

Effective communication is a crucial element in the success of organizational management. In modern organizational practices, communication is not only concerned with the transmission of information but also involves psychological aspects such as perception, emotions, motivation, and interpersonal relationships among organizational members. This study aims to examine the role of psychological approaches in building effective communication within organizational management through a literature review method. The research data were obtained from scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025, accessed through Google Scholar and the Publish or Perish application. The initial search identified 30 articles; after the screening and eligibility processes, 27 relevant articles were selected. Further selection resulted in 5 articles that were most relevant to the research topic and were analyzed in depth. The findings indicate that psychological approaches such as emotional intelligence, empathy, motivation, and interpersonal perception play a significant role in enhancing the effectiveness of organizational communication. These findings suggest that integrating psychological approaches into organizational communication practices can improve the quality of workplace relationships, reduce conflicts, and enhance overall organizational performance.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the engagement of class V B students at MI Daarul Qur'an in the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject through the implementation of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart framework, the research was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the application of the TGT model significantly improves both learning outcomes and student participation. In Cycle I, learning mastery reached 61.11 percent with an average score of 73.96. This increased to 91.67 percent in Cycle I Meeting II, to 95.83 percent in Cycle II Meeting I, and finally to 100 percent in Cycle II Meeting II with an average score of 100. The TGT approach not only enhances academic achievement but also creates a more active, enjoyable, and dynamic learning environment, encouraging better collaboration among students during group activities. Therefore, the use of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model is proven effective in improving student engagement and learning outcomes in the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject.

Abstract

Deliberation is a decision-making mechanism commonly used in student organizations, but in practice it is often procedural and tends to lead to majority voting without going through a substantive deliberation process. This article aims to analyze student deliberation practices as a decision-making model from the perspective of modern social sciences and Islamic sciences using a qualitative approach through literature study and normative-comparative analysis reinforced by reflections on student organization practices. The results of the study show that from a social science perspective, student deliberation can be understood through the concepts of deliberative decision-making, participatory leadership, and collective decision-making, which emphasize participation, rational dialogue, and decision legitimacy. Meanwhile, from an Islamic perspective, deliberation (shura) is understood as a moral and spiritual process based on the values of trust, justice, and benefit. Initial findings indicate a gap between the ideal concept of deliberation in Islam and the practice of student deliberation, which is still dominated by group interests and instant voting mechanisms. Therefore, this article concludes that the integration of decision-making theory in social sciences with the values of shura in Islam can form a more deliberative, ethical, and participatory model of student deliberation, which has the potential to improve the quality of decision-making in student organizations while strengthening the character of student leadership based on academic and Islamic values.

Abstract

Leadership in education plays a strategic role in improving the quality of educational institutions, especially in facing the challenges of globalization and digitalization. Organizational culture and local wisdom are essential elements in shaping students’ character and institutional identity. This study aims to analyze the concept of leadership based on organizational culture and local wisdom, explore the role of local wisdom in educational leadership, and examine its implementation in the era of educational globalization. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected through documentation techniques from scientific journals, books, and relevant academic sources published within the last five years. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that leadership based on organizational culture and local wisdom can create a conducive educational environment, strengthen students’ character, and improve the quality of education. In addition, integrating local cultural values with technological innovation is an important strategy for addressing globalization challenges. Therefore, adaptive and contextual leadership rooted in local cultural values is urgently needed in modern educational management.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) in managing educational institution data at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Lamongan Regency to improve the effectiveness of educational administration. EMIS is a technology-based information system used to manage educational data in an integrated manner, including institutional data, students, educators, as well as facilities and infrastructure. The implementation of EMIS aims to improve the quality of administrative management so that it becomes faster, more accurate, and more efficient compared to manual systems. In addition, EMIS also facilitates reporting processes, data validation, and data-based decision-making in a more precise, transparent, and structured manner. The implementation of EMIS at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Lamongan Regency also supports digital transformation in Islamic education management in the modern era. Although there are still several challenges in its implementation, such as limited technological infrastructure, internet networks, and operator capabilities, this system continues to provide significant positive impacts on improving the quality of educational administrative services. Thus, EMIS becomes an important solution in realizing effective, efficient, and accountable educational governance.
