The scaling action often puts pressure on the gums, which causes sores with symptoms such as pain, swollen gums (gingivitis), a bright red color, sensitivity, and bleeding easily. After scaling, the patient will be given mouthwash so that the gums are healthy again. Mouthwashes containing anti-microbial substances can be classified into two namely the active substances derived from plants and those made from chemicals. However, long-term use of chemical mouthwashes can result in a number of side effects. Long term use of chemical mouthwashes can result in a number of side effects and is expensive, so the use of herbal inrediets is an alternative in oral medicine. This study aims to determine the effect of gargling Aloe vera solution to accelerate wound healing after scaling. This study used a descriptive quantitative. The number of samples is 30 people, 15 people gargling with Aloe vera solution and 15 people gargling with mineral water. The results showed that in all patients who were given aloe vera intervention, the wound healing process was faster than that of those who rinsed using plain water. Background: Persistence is the most common dental disease faced by Indonesian people, especially children aged 6-12 years. Because at that age there is a transition period from baby teeth to permanent teeth which is often called the critical period. Seeing the high rates of dental and oral disease, one of which is influenced by parental behavioral factors which play a role in the growth of children's teeth, especially during the mixed dentition period which has an impact on the occurrence of persistence cases. This study aims to determine the effect of parental behavior on tooth persistence in students of SD Inpres Unggulan BTN Pemda. Method : The research method used is cross sectional. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study were 36 parents of students whose children had persistent teeth which were taken using a purposive sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research was conducted at the Pemda BTN Superior Inpres Elementary School in January-March 2023. Results: Data analysis was carried out using a bivariate test with the chi square and kruskal wallis methods. Based on the Chi Square test obtained p 0.001 with a correlation coefficient of 0.05. Based on the results of the Kruskal Wallis test, the category mean rank was 35.00 with a p-value of 0.001 (p <0.05). The results of statistical tests in this study found that parental behavior based on aspects of knowledge, attitudes and actions had an impact on persistent tooth cases. Conclusion: Lack of knowledge has an impact on parental ignorance as a trigger for persistence. Attitude has less impact on parents who are unable to respond to cases of persistent teeth. Good behavior impacts a parent's ability to prevent and treat persistent teeth. Keywords : Parental behavior, tooth persistence

ABSTRACT Dental caries is damage to tooth tissue which can be seen by the presence of damage to the tissue, which starts from the surface of the tooth, namely recesses, fissures and interproximal areas that spread to the pulp area. Dental caries can be found in various individuals and can occur on one or more tooth surfaces, and can spread to deeper areas of the tooth, such as from the enamel to the dentin or to the pulp area. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between consuming cariogenic food and the incidence of dental caries with the target of stunting in elementary school-age children at SD Inpres Unggulan BTN Pemda, Rappocini District, Makassar City. The method used in this study is a quantitative method, namely a survey with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study used a purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 50 people. In this study the data came from distributing questionnaires containing questions about the relationship between consuming cariogenic food and the incidence of dental caries in elementary school-age children and questionnaires containing questions about the lifestyle of mothers and children so that they can be said to be at risk of stunting. Children's eating habits and the risk of stunting were measured by filling out a questionnaire form filled out by the students' parents. Caries is measured by looking directly at the condition of the child's teeth using objective examination methods (palpation, percussion, vitality or mobility tests). And for stunting, height and weight checks are carried out to measure student BMI.

One of the key factors contributing to the failure of dental healthcare services is the presence of anxiety and tension in patients, particularly pediatric patients. As a result, preventive measures or further treatment may need to be postponed until the next visit. This study aimed to investigate the level of anxiety among children receiving dental healthcare services at Puskesmas Palangga based on age, gender, and type of dental healthcare service. A descriptive research design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The sample comprised 60 children receiving dental healthcare services at Puskesmas Palangga. The level of anxiety was measured using the Face Image Scale. The findings revealed differences in anxiety levels based on the age of the children. Toddlers and young children tended to exhibit higher levels of anxiety compared to adolescents. Additionally, there were gender differences in anxiety levels, with girls experiencing higher levels of anxiety than boys. The study also found variations in anxiety levels based on the type of dental healthcare service provided. Tooth extraction procedures resulted in higher levels of anxiety compared to premedication and apex resection services. In conclusion, these research findings highlight the importance of considering age, gender, and type of dental healthcare service in managing anxiety among children receiving dental healthcare. Therefore, efforts can be made to create a comfortable and supportive environment for children during their dental treatment

Dental caries is a disease of tooth tissue with damage that starts from the surface of the enamel, dentin, then extends towards the pulp. One of the factors causing dental caries in children is formula feeding for a long time. Formula milk is formulated to resemble mother's milk (ASI), given to infants and children as a substitute for breast milk. Formula milk contains sucrose which is capable of being fermented by bacteria so that it can cause dental caries in children. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between duration of formula feeding and the incidence of preschool dental caries in Aisyiyah 2 Pangkajene Kindergarten. This research is a quantitative study using an analytic survey design with a cross sectional study approach. The sample in this study was Aisyiyah 2 Pangkajene Kindergarten students and the sampling technique used was a total sampling of 35 students. From the results of the chi square test, p = 0.02 which indicates a p value <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between duration of formula feeding and the incidence of dental caries in preschool-aged children in Aisyiyah Kindergarten.
