Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of the community regarding coral reef ecotourism in order to improve the economy of the Lamreh village community, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh through FDG (Focus Group Discussion) activities and beach clean-up actions. This activity involves the community and youth of Lamreh village. The results of this activity show that in the FGD it was known that there was an understanding of the community regarding the importance of maintaining coral reefs for the sustainability of tourism which can improve the community's economy. while in the beach clean-up action, tourist signs and trash bins were installed for beach cleanliness at the beach location.

Abstract

This community service aimed to increase the utilization of posyandu lansia in Desa Neulop 2, Kecamatan Indrajaya, Kabupaten Pidie. The increasing number of elderly people requires accessible and affordable health services. However, posyandu utilization in this area remains low. The activities included counseling and training for elderly citizens, their families, community leaders, and posyandu cadres. Results showed a significant improvement in awareness and attendance at the posyandu lansia, supported by family involvement and cadre commitment.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of the Panton Beunot Village apparatus, Pidie Regency, in designing and compiling the Village Qanun. Qanun is a village-level regulation that is important as a legal basis for organizing the social life of the community. The implementation of this activity includes socialization, technical guidance, and assistance in drafting the Qanun, especially the Qanun on Village Order and Security. The methods used are lectures, focus group discussions (FGD), and direct training for village apparatus. The results of the activity show an increase in the knowledge and skills of the apparatus in the legislative process at the village level. This activity also succeeded in producing a Qanun draft that is relevant to local problems, such as disturbances of order, violations of customary and religious norms, and environmental preservation. This activity is an important initial step in strengthening participatory and law-based village governance.

Abstract

The aim of this service is to introduce the creative economic sector to Village Women so that their family's income and quality of life increase, and they are able to change their thinking.The powerlessness of rural women has an impact on the low quality of life, therefore converting the traditional economic sector to the creative economic sector is one solution that must be appreciated.The results of this activity have provided significant changes after the Fesa Neulop II women received training, understanding, and direct practice from the Community Service Team. Housewives and young women have access to creativity, culinary knowledge, and aesthetic presentation in handicrafts, thereby increasing family income and welfare.

Abstract

Pelatihan TOEFL Preparation Workshop bagi Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Syiah Kuala merupakan kegiatan pengabdian yang bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan strategi peserta dalam menghadapi tes TOEFL. Pelatihan dilaksanakan selama tiga hari (11–13 Mei 2025) dengan metode kombinasi teori, praktik soal, dan simulasi tes. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman struktur tes, manajemen waktu, dan teknik menjawab soal. Peserta mampu mengidentifikasi kelemahan dan mengembangkan strategi belajar mandiri. Kegiatan ini mendukung kompetensi akademik dan kesiapan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tantangan global.

Abstract

This Community Service Program conducted an outreach initiative for micro and small enterprises to adopt QRIS for the purpose of "Facilitating Financial Transactions," with a case study focused on Micro and Small Enterprises in Sigli City. This program aimed to provide both socialization and hands-on assistance regarding cashless payment systems through the use of QRIS barcodes. The objective of this outreach was to enhance the knowledge of Micro and Small Enterprises about cashless payment systems and their understanding of how to use QRIS to expand their business targets. The program provided insights into cashless payment systems, their benefits, their operational mechanics, and the convenience of transacting through the DANA E-Wallet application. Through this program, Micro and Small Enterprises partners were assisted at every stage: from registering for a personal DANA account, upgrading to DANA Premium and utilizing its fund withdrawal feature, to registering for DANA Business, and finally, generating the QRIS barcode. The results showed that the low level of understanding among Micro and Small Enterprises partners about the developments in cashless payment systems and the use of QRIS barcodes was successfully addressed through the implementation team's outreach. Furthermore, the absence of a support team to guide Micro and Small Enterprises in using QRIS was resolved by this community service program (PKM), conducted by lecturers and students from the Informatics Engineering study program at Jabal Ghafur University, which successfully increased the business owners' interest in the convenience of cashless payment systems.

Abstract

Local food security is a strategic issue in supporting national food independence and community welfare. However, small and medium food enterprises (SMEs) often face challenges in applying quality production standards, particularly the principles of Good Processed Food Production Practices (CPPOB). This community engagement activity aims to enhance the knowledge and awareness of SME actors regarding the importance of CPPOB implementation to ensure food safety and quality. The program consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The counseling was conducted at the production site of IKM Aji Berkah, which produces cassava and banana chips, using interactive lectures and discussions. Evaluation results showed an increase in participants' average scores from 63.52 to 89.92 after the program. All participants (100%) met the Minimum Mastery Criteria, and the paired t-test indicated a statistically significant improvement (P < 0.01). This activity proves that CPPOB counseling effectively strengthens SME actors’ capacity to produce hygienic and safe food, while also contributing positively to the enhancement of local food security.

Abstract

The aquaculture sector holds a strategic role in safeguarding food security, generating employment, and improving community welfare. Nevertheless, fish farmers continue to face critical challenges, particularly the high cost of feed—reaching 60–70% of total production expenses—and limited technical expertise in formulating high-quality feed. In response, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Terminal (FT) Lomanis implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of farmer groups through specialized training in independent feed formulation. This program was delivered through a participatory approach that combined technology demonstrations with hands-on practice, engaging the Fish Farmers Group (Pokdakan) Pur 123 Indah Jaya in Sidamukti Village. The training significantly enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills in formulating feed using locally available raw materials with balanced nutritional content, while also equipping them with the ability to operate the extruder machine effectively and independently. In addition to producing more affordable and higher-quality feed, the program fostered greater group self-reliance, reduced dependence on commercial feed, and promoted sustainable development. These outcomes reflect the essence of CSR as guided by the triple bottom line framework, which emphasizes economic, social, and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Plastic waste poses a serious global challenge with significant environmental and health impacts, largely driven by low public awareness of waste management and the excessive use of plastics. Elementary school years, often referred to as the golden age, represent a crucial stage in shaping character and behavior, making early environmental education a strategic foundation for long-term ecological awareness. This Community Service Program (PKM) was designed to enhance environmental consciousness by providing education on the dangers of plastic waste and hands-on creative recycling training for students at SDN 1 Seumet, Montasik District, Aceh Besar. Conducted on August 14, 2025, the program engaged lecturers, students from Community Service Group 33 of Universitas Abulyatama, and school teachers. Activities included educational sessions, video presentations, interactive discussions, and practical workshops on recycling plastic into simple artworks. Evaluation through observation, reflective discussions, and questionnaires revealed improved student understanding of plastic pollution, adoption of 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and the ability to create value-added products from waste materials. Furthermore, students demonstrated growing awareness of reducing single-use plastics and embracing eco-friendly alternatives. Overall, the program effectively fostered environmental responsibility during the golden age of development, with the potential to generate lasting positive impacts on both the school and the surrounding community.

Abstract

Food security and economic empowerment of rural communities are key challenges in sustainable development. Utilizing home gardens for vegetable cultivation can increase food availability, reduce dependence on external food sources, and improve community economic well-being. This community service activity aims to improve community skills in food production, family income, and the technical (hard skills) and social (soft skills) skills of participants through the use of home gardens. The study was conducted in Sumber Village, Sumber District, Rembang Regency, from August 2024 to February 2025. Methods included outreach, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and pre- and post-tests with program participants. Program implementation showed a 40% increase in vegetable production within six months. Pre- and post-test evaluations showed a significant increase in hard skills (cultivation techniques and organic fertilizer utilization) by 35% and soft skills (communication and cooperation) by 30%. This program has been proven to improve food security, family income, and community skills. This model can be replicated in other areas with a similar approach, and further strategies are needed for program sustainability.
