Abstract

This study aims to examine the relevance of the concept of total war and national resource mobilization during World War II in the development of modern defense education in Indonesia. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with historical-contextual analysis methods. Data were obtained through literature studies of primary and secondary sources, including historical documents, academic books, international journals, and lecture materials from defense institutions. The results of the study indicate that the principles of total war, such as total mobilization, industrial conversion, and the formation of collective consciousness, can be used as a strategic learning framework in the defense education system. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of historical analysis of war with a contextual pedagogical approach that is adaptive to contemporary challenges. The main contribution of this article is to offer a conceptual model of history based defense learning that strengthens national deterrence through value education, strategic reflection, and strengthening leadership character. These findings are expected to enrich academic discourse and defense curriculum practices in developing countries.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital financial services has reshaped the global financial ecosystem, offering enhanced accessibility and efficiency while also requiring users to possess a certain level of financial and digital literacy. This study aims to examine the impact of digital financial services on financial literacy in the city of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 100 users of mobile and internet banking services at Bank Kalsel through structured questionnaires. Analysis was conducted using descriptive and simple linear regression methods. The findings reveal a strong positive relationship between digital financial services and financial literacy, with an elasticity coefficient of 8.172 and a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.662. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.438) indicates that 43.8% of the variation in financial literacy is explained by digital financial services. These results underscore the importance of digital financial inclusion, technology adoption, and service quality in enhancing users' financial knowledge, skills, and behavior. The study recommends integrated efforts from the government, financial institutions, and digital service providers to develop inclusive, user-friendly, and secure digital platforms, supported by targeted financial education programs to promote financial empowerment and reduce socio-economic disparities in South Kalimantan.

Abstract

Every mother wants to provide the best for her child. For mothers of children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), the daily journey of parenting is often filled with challenges. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between Parenting Self-efficacy (PSE) and Subjective Well-Being (SWB) among mothers of ADHD children currently attending Alejo School in Surabaya. This cross-sectional study involved 40 mothers who were selected using purposive sampling technique. Correlation analysis was conducted using Pearson’s product-moment correlation method. SWB was measured using Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) from Diener et al. (1985) and Positive Affect Negative Affect Scale (PANAS) from Watson et al. (1988) while Parenting Self-Efficacy (PSE) was measured using Self Efficacy for Parenting Task Index (SEPTI) from Coleman & Karraker, (2003). The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between the five aspects of PSE with Satisfaction with Life Scale (r = 0.488 – 0.653, p<.001) and Positive Affect (r = 0.722 – 0.842, p<.001), as well as a significant negative relationship with Negative Affect (r = -0.476 – -0.782, p<.001) of mothers who had ADHD children. This research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the importance of PSE in influencing the SWB of mothers who have children with ADHD.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the management of learning communities in improving teachers’ pedagogical competence, the challenges faced in conducting learning community programs, and analyzing solutions in overcoming the challenges of learning community programs at State Elementary School 229 Plaju Palembang City. One of the key factors in improving teachers’ pedagogical competence is teacher collaboration in learning communities with good planning, organization, implementation, and supervision. The research method used is a qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Results show that 85% of teachers improved pedagogical skills through collaborative programs, though challenges like time constraints (reported by 70% of participants) persisted. The results show that learning community management has been implemented in a systematic and participatory manner, involving careful planning, data-based needs analysis, and implementation of relevant professional programs. This activity has the support of the principal and lead teachers, with a clear organizational structure and a strong culture of collaboration as reinforcing factors. The research also found various challenges in its implementation, such as limited time, human resources, member participation, and funding, which impacted the effectiveness and sustainability of the program. However, adaptive management strategies, the use of technology, the formation of interest-based work teams, and regular reflection overcame these challenges. The CERDIK learning community has proven to be an effective platform for teacher professional development and an example of good practice in the primary school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an alternative approach to fraud prevention by internalizing the ethical philosophy of Ibn Miskawaih into the professional behavior of accountants. The study is motivated by the continuing occurrence of fraud involving accountants, which indicates that existing ethical codes have not been fully effective in preventing unethical practices. This research uses a qualitative library method by reviewing relevant literature on Islamic moral philosophy, particularly the concept of akhlak, and relating it to the Basic Principles of Public Accountant Ethics. The results show that the integration of four core virtues, namely self restraint (al iffah), moral courage (as syaja’ah), wisdom (al hikmah), and justice (al ‘adalah), can strengthen ethical attitudes from within the individual. The novelty of this study lies in offering a philosophical and culturally grounded framework that complements existing ethical guidelines. This conceptual contribution provides a foundation for promoting value based ethical awareness in the accounting profession as a strategy for sustainable fraud prevention.

This study investigates the impact of financial constraints and corporate governance on a company's environmental performance. The independent variables used in this study are financial constraints, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, and audit committees. The dependent variable in this study is environmental performance. Additionally, it controls for variables such as company size and profitability. This study uses a sample of 185 data points from mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021-2023 period. By using a quantitative approach in the form of panel data regression as a data analysis method, it shows that financial constraints, managerial ownership, and audit committees have a positive effect on environmental performance. While institutional ownership hurts environmental performance. The integration of financial constraints and corporate governance as comprehensive determinants of environmental performance is still rarely explored together in the Indonesian context, especially in the mining sector, which has a significant environmental impact. This study is expected to contribute to the understanding of financial constraints, corporate governance, company size, and profitability regarding how these factors interact to influence environmental performance. In addition, this study is also expected to be a reference for further research on financial constraints, corporate governance, environmental performance, company size, and profitability. This research not only makes academic contributions but also has significant practical implications for companies, stakeholders, and policymakers in improving environmental performance.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Persatuan Mubaligh Muda Sada Kata (PEMUDATA) as a youth missionary association in the development of non-formal Islamic education in the city of Subulussalam. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of the activities carried out by the organization. The results of the study indicate that PEMUDATA has made a significant contribution to expanding access to Islamic education through its da’wah programs, religious training, and youth development initiatives at mosques. The uniqueness of this organization lies in its adaptive approach to the local socio-cultural context and the ability of its members to build intergenerational communication. The practical implications of these findings suggest that youth missionary associations like PEMUDATA can be strategic partners for local governments and Islamic educational institutions in improving religious literacy among the community, especially in areas not fully reached by formal education. This research contributes to the literature on non-formal Islamic education and opens opportunities for developing partnership models between the state, society, and youth religious organizations at the local level.
