Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance of date ice tea production by using operations research techniques in increasing sales. The strategy in this study uses mixed method research, an approach that combines elements of qualitative and quantitative research. The target population in this study is the owner of the Kurma Ice Tea Business. The sampling technique in this study used a Non-Probability Sampling technique with an Accidental Sampling approach, namely the researcher took a sample determination technique based on chance. The data used is sourced directly from respondents and presented in tabular form. The technique used is descriptive statistics. Data collection techniques through a one-way oral question and answer process. The performance of date ice tea production can be seen in the performance process of employees who can increase sales by maintaining the taste, quality and price of date ice tea itself, production employees and sales employees are able to provide maximum service, as well as sales strategies spread across 20 outlets as well as promotions and banners as a marker that date ice tea sales are everywhere and easily available. The operations research technique in increasing sales on date ice tea is how the owner determines all the raw materials and tools used by increasing the quality of workmanship so that later there are no more mistakes that will occur in the future.

Abstract

Changes in temperature and extreme weather caused by the climate crisis have the potential to damage agricultural systems, threaten food security, and reduce agricultural productivity. This study aims to evaluate the integrated paddy-cattle farming system's resilience and capability to improve sustainability in the face of persistent difficulties. The research used a literature review approach with the aim of collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing previous research results relevant to the research topic. These sources will be drawn from reputable scientific databases, such as Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and JSTOR, which have peer-reviewed articles and journals. There has been no in-depth study of paddy-cattle resilience through literature review, which is the novelty of the article. The results of this review indicate that paddy-cattle integration systems can be an effective solution to the challenges of sustainable agriculture in the midst of climate change. However, to achieve sustainability, it requires supportive policies, training for farmers, and further research on the application of this system in various local conditions. This study provides insights for the development of more adaptive and sustainable farming systems, as well as optimizing synergies between crops and livestock in the face of climate change. This study has limitations in terms of the amount of literature that is not up-to-date and with a relatively small amount, therefore, future researchers related to the same topic should add more up-to-date and relevant literature citations.

Abstract

Cayenne pepper cultivation in Polewali Mandar Regency faces various challenges, one of which is price fluctuations in the market. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the price fluctuations of cayenne pepper in Polewali Mandar Regency. The determination of the research location was carried out purposively, because Polewali Mandar Regency became one of the largest producers of cayenne pepper in West Sulawesi Province. The sample in this study was 40 samples. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the research that have been carried out show that the factors that influence cayenne pepper price fluctuations, namely chili availability and demand for cayenne pepper, have a significant effect on cayenne pepper price fluctuations in Polewali Mandar Regency, while the price of cayenne pepper at the farm level and substitute goods have no significant effect on cayenne pepper price fluctuations in Polewali Mandar Regency.

Abstract

The Social Forestry Program is a community participation-based initiative for sustainable forest management, aimed at reducing poverty, protecting the environment, and improving farmers' welfare. This study aims to analyze the program's socio-economic impacts on farmer households in Enrekang District, South Sulawesi, focusing on 12 villages in 10 sub-districts. Mixed methods (quantitative and quantitative) were used through surveys, interviews, and observations of 372 respondents, including farmers, community leaders, and government representatives. Results show that participation in Social Forestry contributes to increased income, especially through superior commodities such as shallots and brown rice, as well as economic diversification such as dairy farming (dangke). However, challenges such as gender inequality (male dominant: 87.4%), limited market access, and climate change impacts still hinder the optimization of the program. Respondents' characteristics are dominated by productive age (40-61 years: 63.9%) with secondary education (SMA: 31.5%), while the average family size is 3-4 people (45.4%). The study highlights the importance of locally-based approaches, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and inclusive policies to strengthen program sustainability. The findings recommend strengthening farmers' capacity through training, increasing access to capital, and policy synergy to support sustainable livelihoods while maintaining forest ecosystems.

Abstract

Abstract

Farmers who own small-scale land are vulnerable to being threatened by climate change, because they do not have enough resources to cope with it. To minimize the negative impacts of climate change, farmers must implement adaptation strategies. This study aims to analyze the adaptation strategies applied by smallholder rice farmers in Polewali Mandar Regency. This research was conducted in Bunga-Bunga Village, Matakali District, Polewali Mandar Regency. Sample determination was carried out using the Slovin approach with a total of 30 respondents who owned small-scale rice farmers. The analysis method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive research. The results showed that age, education, dependents of the head of the family, length of farming, side jobs, land area, and land status affect the implementation of adaptation strategies to climate change. The adaptation strategies applied by smallholder rice farmers in Bunga-Bunga Village are survival strategies and consolidation strategies.

Abstract

Pindang fish processing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bulukumba district, which are mostly managed by women, play an important role in the local economy, but also face various constraints that hinder their growth. This study aims to identify internal and external factors that influence the development of pindang fish processing MSMEs. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study, with data collection methods in the form of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the dominant internal factors are limited managerial skills and low product quality, which are influenced by non-standardized production processes and lack of attention to sanitation. Externally, although there is high market demand, the main challenges lie in marketing, distribution, and lack of business legality. The government provides support in the form of training and equipment assistance, but the mismatch between assistance and the real needs of MSME actors is still an obstacle. This study suggests that the government and related parties pay more attention to improving the quality of human resources, better production systems, and the utilization of technology to improve product quality and expand markets. From these results, it can be concluded that to encourage the sustainability and growth of pindang fish MSMEs, it is necessary to improve the quality of human resources, improvements in production systems, and the use of technology to improve product quality and expand markets. This will help MSME actors to overcome existing challenges and capitalize on available market potential.
