Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of patient satisfaction in the relationship between Islamic service quality and patient loyalty at the General Hospital of Welfare Development Unit Muhammadiyah Bantul (Rumah Sakit Umum Pembina Kesejahteraan Umat Muhammadiyah Bantul), addressing concerns over declining patient visits. Using a survey of 150 respondents and Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the results indicate that tangible dimensions of Islamic service quality do not significantly affect satisfaction or loyalty. However, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy positively and significantly influence both outcomes. Patient satisfaction does not mediate these effects, suggesting that patients directly value the integration of Islamic principles in service delivery. These findings emphasize the critical role of culturally aligned healthcare services in building trust and loyalty, offering insights for policymakers and healthcare practitioners to develop inclusive and patient-centered service strategies aligned with societal and religious values.

Abstract

Since the early 21st century, bullying has been a central focus for scholars, with various forms, such as relational, physical, cyber, and social bullying, receiving extensive attention. However, the role of genetic and hereditary factors in bullying remains underexplored. This study systematically reviews 31 scholarly articles published between January 2000 and December 2021. Articles were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria, including methodological rigor, relevance to genetic influences on bullying, and clear population samples. Data sources included Google Scholar, ResearchGate, SAGE Journals, and ERIC, with keywords such as “bullying and genetics,” “bullying and hereditary,” and “family genetics involvement.” The findings reveal significant associations between genetic predispositions and bullying behaviors. For example, genetic factors were found to account for approximately 70–77% of bullying perpetration and victimization in multiple studies, highlighting a strong hereditary influence. Traits such as impulsivity and aggression, often linked to genetic predispositions, were also shown to interact with environmental factors such as family dynamics and peer relationships, amplifying bullying tendencies. These results underscore the critical role of genetic and hereditary transmission in shaping bullying behaviors across generations. The study emphasizes the need for a multidisciplinary approach that integrates genetic research with environmental interventions to address bullying effectively. Practical implications include the development of targeted anti-bullying programs that consider individual genetic susceptibility alongside fostering supportive family and school environments to reduce the intergenerational transmission of bullying behaviors.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of optimizing the role of internal auditors on fraud prevention by considering local culture as a moderating variable. This study aims to analyze the effect of optimizing the role of internal auditors on fraud prevention with local culture as a moderating variable. Sampling using purposive sampling, this study involved 87 auditors from the regional Inspectorate, with data collection through questionnaires analyzed using the PLS-SEM method and SmartPLS software version 4. The results of the study indicate that the role of internal auditors has a significant impact on fraud prevention, and the interaction between local culture and the role of internal audit has a significant influence on fraud prevention in local government. In general, the fraud prevention framework combines the dimensions of the role of internal auditors and local culture to create a system for preventing fraud and supporting the integrity and accountability of the organization. The analysis shows the R-Square value for the fraud prevention variable of 0.817, which indicates that the variables of the Role of Internal Audit and Local Culture have a significant influence on Fraud Prevention at 81.7%. These results indicate that the model has strong predictive power, and the rest has limitations in explaining 18.3% of the variance that can be explained by other variables that are not included in this research model.

Abstract

Radicalism is an important element of social movements advocating for individuals or groups seeking ideological emancipation, fostering critical perspectives, and striving for change directly linked to broader adversaries and goals. Vulnerability to radicalism exists at varying intensities, rendering individuals or groups susceptible to radicalization. This research examines a significant issue of potential radicalism identified in previous studies, which appears to surpass society's understanding. The study aims to investigate several dimensions, including understanding, attitudes, and actions with the potential for radicalization. A quantitative method involving face-to-face interview techniques was utilized. The research sample consisted of 400 stratified random samples, which were selected based on characteristics such as gender, marital status, age, occupation, and religion, using the Slovin formula: n = N / (1 + (N x e²)) with a sampling error of 5%, and three hypotheses concerning attitude, understanding, and action. This research also employs a Scopus-based mapping of radicalism, analyzing the network in detail. The findings of the research show that attitude, understanding, and action have a direct impact on radicalism. Additional findings reveal that attitudes exert the greatest influence on the potential for radicalism, followed by understanding and actions. When viewpoints become extreme, inflexible, or intolerant, attitudes can reveal a person's propensity toward a particular ideology or societal issue. By encouraging the avoidance of possible radicalism and supporting improved decision-making in society, healthy social interactions can raise awareness of the hazards of radicalism. The interaction between attitudes, understanding, actions, and the potential for radicalism is a dynamic process that progressively leads to radical involvement within a specific context.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the impact of corporate culture, strategic orientation, and environmental uncertainty on firm performance, focusing on the moderating role of the Lever of Controls (LoC). Primary data were collected through a survey involving 203 respondents from both listed and unlisted companies in Indonesia on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Firm performance was measured using customer satisfaction, revenue, profit growth, return on investment, and market share. The findings reveal that corporate culture and strategic orientation significantly enhance firm performance. However, environmental uncertainty was found to have no direct impact on business performance. Furthermore, the moderating role of the LoC was not validated, suggesting that the relationship between management control systems and performance is complex and requires further investigation, particularly in uncertain environments. This research provides valuable insights for practitioners, emphasizing that firm performance is strongly influenced by corporate culture, strategic orientation, and effective management of environmental uncertainty.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of employee green behavior on the performance of green instructors in the Madrasah context in Medan City, using the frameworks of organizational ambidexterity and green self-efficacy. Adopting a quantitative research methodology, the study utilized surveys as the primary data collection tool. The research population consisted of all Madrasah instructors in Medan City, totaling 229 individuals, who also served as the research sample. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative statistical methods, specifically path analysis. Primary data were collected through surveys, while secondary data were obtained from official Madrasah records. The findings reveal that instructors’ green self-efficacy in Madrasahs in Medan City is significantly influenced by their green behavior. Moreover, environmentally sustainable practices positively impact organizational ambidexterity, which in turn affects teacher performance. However, organizational ambidexterity does not have a direct significant influence on green teacher performance. Conversely, employee green behavior indirectly enhances teacher performance through its effects on organizational ambidexterity and green self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study examines the level of transparency in the management of independent mosque funds in Medan City, North Sumatra, Indonesia, evaluates adherence to accountability principles, and provides actionable recommendations for improvement. Using a quantitative research approach, questionnaires and observations were used to collect data from mosque administrators, worshippers, and donors at the Al-Musabbihin Mosque. These instruments were designed to assess trust and participation in mosque activities. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS 3.0, focusing on Outer and Inner Model evaluations. The results reveal that human resource (HR) competency, internal control systems, technological integration, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with financial management standards significantly impact transparency and accountability in mosque fund management. Additionally, organizational commitment amplifies the positive influence of HR competency and internal controls on these outcomes. The study highlights the critical need for ongoing HR development through targeted training and education to ensure effective and accountable fund management. Furthermore, establishing comprehensive internal control systems is essential to prevent fund misuse and build public trust. The findings demonstrate that transparent and accountable fund management fosters public confidence, optimizes resource utilization, and enhances the mosque’s capacity as a vibrant and empowered social institution.

Abstract

The persistent issue of substantial losses due to fraud has heightened interest in exploring factors contributing to fraudulent behavior, with limited focus on the role of personality traits in fraud detection. This study investigates six personality traits—wrath, envy, attachment, pride, desire, and greed—that may influence an individual’s propensity for fraud. Using data collected through questionnaires distributed to microfinance institutions in Bali, a region experiencing a high prevalence of fraud cases, the study employs factor analysis to identify the contribution of these traits to fraudulent intentions. The findings reveal that wrath is the most significant predictor, followed by envy, attachment, pride, desire, and greed. The study underscores the practical implications of integrating personality assessments into organizational processes to enhance fraud detection and mitigation. This research offers a novel approach to understanding and addressing fraud in organizational settings by emphasizing personality traits as predictors of fraudulent intentions.

Abstract

Skill development is pivotal to Pakistan’s economic and social transformation, addressing human capital challenges. This systematic literature review synthesizes findings from 38 peer-reviewed studies conducted between 2015 and 2024 to evaluate Pakistan’s existing policies and practices. Findings reveal myriad barriers in Pakistan’s vocational education ecosystem, including outdated curricula, weak industry-academia collaboration, and governance inefficiencies, disproportionately affecting vulnerable rural populations. Programs like the National Skills Strategy (NSS) and Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) aim to align education with labor market demands, but financial constraints and governance inefficiencies hinder implementation. Due to infrastructural inadequacies, digital literacy and entrepreneurial education programs face implementation challenges. The study advocates for experiential learning modalities and inclusive policies to dismantle socio-cultural barriers. Comparisons with global models such as Germany’s dual education system and Singapore’s SkillsFuture initiative illustrate opportunities to modernize Pakistan’s TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) framework. Policy recommendations emphasize the need for strategic investments in digital infrastructure to modernize curricula, foster industry partnerships, and integrate cutting-edge technologies aligning TVET with Industry 4.0, fostering public-private partnerships, and promoting gender-inclusive strategies to enhance workforce readiness and economic competitiveness. These reforms align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 8, offering a pathway for Pakistan to enhance workforce readiness, foster economic competitiveness, and promote equitable socioeconomic development.
