Abstract

This study examines the concept of educational objectives and Islamic educational objectives based on the thoughts of Western classical philosophers (Plato and John Dewey) and Muslim philosophers (Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, and Al-Farabi). Plato saw education as a means of achieving universal wisdom and truth through moral and intellectual development, while John Dewey emphasized education as a pragmatic tool for forming individuals who think critically and can actively participate in a democratic society. On the other hand, in the context of Islamic education, Al-Ghazali emphasized education as a spiritual process to get closer to God, Ibn Sina combined intellectual education and science to achieve human perfection, while Al-Farabi emphasized education as a tool to achieve moral happiness and social balance. The problem that arises is the difference in focus: general education (Plato and Dewey) emphasizes more on the development of rationality, morality, and social engagement, while Islamic education emphasizes more on the balance between spirituality, rationality, and moral responsibility. The research method used is comparative literature analysis, where the main thoughts of these figures are analyzed philosophically to identify ideal educational goals. The results showed that general education, according to Plato, focused on wisdom and morality, while Dewey emphasized active learning relevant to practical life. Islamic education, according to Al-Ghazali, is more oriented towards spirituality, Ibn Sina on rationality and science, and Al-Farabi on moral and intellectual balance to create an ideal society. The contribution of this research is to answer the challenges of modern education by reconstructing the current educational goals so that education can create individuals who can think critically, be ethical or moral, and have strong life skills.  A need for the reconstruction of holistic educational goals that develop intellectual, moral, and spiritual as a result of the synthesis of thinking about the goals of Western philosophy education and Islamic philosophy. Strategic steps taken based on the results of the research include the development of an  integrated curriculum, the implementation of active and adaptive learning, the integration of character education and ethics in the curriculum, the use of technology for spiritual and moral education, teacher training in the modern era and the formation of value-based progressive policies with a holistic approach.

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in shaping the character of the young generation as the successors of the nation. The main problem raised in this study is the less than optimal internalization of the values of the Qur'an and Hadith in the formal education process, which has an impact on the weak moral character of students. In fact, Islamic education should not only emphasize intellectual aspects, but also spiritual and moral. This study aims to explore the implementation of the values of the Qur'an and Hadith in the formation of student character at MI Muhammadiyah Tambaksari Blora. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field study method, involving observation, in- depth interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the study show that schools consistently integrate the values of the Qur'an and Hadith through Qur'an learning activities, congregational prayers, and student moral formation programs. The role of teachers is very significant in guiding students to understand and practice Islamic values in everyday life. Activities such as congregational prayers have proven effective in instilling discipline, responsibility, and a spirit of togetherness. In addition, the application of good morals in social interactions at school encourages the creation of a harmonious environment, mutual respect, and strengthens Islamic broth- erhood. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the values of the Qur'an and Hadith in a structured manner can shape the character of stu- dents who are religious, have noble character, and are responsible. This supports the views of Al-Ghazali and Ibn Sina that Islamic education must include moral, spiritual, and intellectual aspects. This study confirms that education based on Islamic values is still very relevant and urgent in the context of character education in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in Group A children at ABA 55 Semarang Kindergarten through the application of the Tilawati method. The background of this research is the low ability of children to recognize and pronounce hijaiyah letters, which is caused by learning methods that are less interesting and not in accordance with the characteristics of early childhood development. Learning that is monotonous and less varied causes children to get bored easily and not focus on recognizing hijaiyah letters. Therefore, a more interactive, fun, and appropriate approach is needed for the child's developmental stages. This study uses the Kemmis and McTaggart model Class Action Research (PTK) approach, which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this study were 7 children aged 4–5 years who were members of Group A. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and performance assessment. The results of the study showed a significant increase in children's ability to recognize hijaiyah letters. In the initial condition (pre-action), only 28.57% of children were in the Developing According to Expectations (BSH) category. This percentage increased to 71.43% in cycle I, and reached 85.7% in cycle II. These findings prove that the Tilawati method is effectively used in improving the recognition of hijaiyah letters in early childhood, especially in the context of Islamic religious learning in kindergarten.

Abstract

This article discusses the philosophical foundations of holistic education in the 21st century with a focus on the challenges and obstacles in its development in the context of Islamic education. The background of this research is based on the urgent need for a comprehensive and balanced approach to education in the face of the complexity of modern times marked by technological developments, moral crises, and the fragmentation of science. The GAP of this research lies in the lack of in-depth studies that integrate the holistic paradigm with the values of Islamic education philosophically and applicatively in facing the challenges of globalization and modernization. This research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method, which examines the literature on holistic education philosophy and Islamic educational thought from various primary and secondary sources. The benefit of this research is that it makes a conceptual contribution to the development of a more complete, transformative, and contextual Islamic education paradigm, as well as a reference for policymakers and education practitioners in designing a learning system that is in line with spiritual, intellectual, and social values of the 21st century.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the world of education has brought significant changes to the way we learn, teach, and lead in the school environment. The speed of technology adoption as well as the paradigm shift towards digital-based learning requires education leaders to adjust their strategies and approaches. In this context, educational leadership is not only required to be able to understand technology, but also needs to build an organizational culture that is adaptive, collaborative, and inclusive. This change poses new challenges in education governance that require serious attention from academics and education practitioners. While many studies have addressed the integration of technology in learning, there is still a research gap in understanding how education leaders navigate digital change strategically and holistically. Most studies tend to focus on teachers and students as users of technology, while the crucial role of education leaders in designing visions, policies, and digital learning climates is still underexplored. This is important considering that leadership that is responsive to digital changes greatly determines the success of innovation implementation in educational institutions. This study uses a descriptive approach with content analysis techniques to review various documents, scientific articles, educational policies, and reports on leadership practices in a digital learning environment. The data is systematically analyzed to identify leadership patterns, adaptation strategies, and challenges faced by education leaders in managing technology-based change. Through this approach, the research seeks to provide an in-depth understanding of leadership dynamics in the context of educational digitalization. The benefit of this research is that it makes a theoretical and practical contribution to the development of educational leadership models that are adaptive to digital change. The results of the research are expected to be a reference for policymakers, school principals, and academics in formulating leadership approaches that are more relevant to the demands of the times. Thus, the digital learning environment can be optimally utilized to improve the quality of education sustainably.

Abstract

The transformation of Islamic religious education is an urgent need in the digital era marked by the rapid flow of information and social change. The presence of digital technology opens up new opportunities for the learning process, but it also brings challenges, especially in maintaining moderate Islamic values. Islamic religious education is no longer only oriented to the transfer of knowledge, but must also be able to form the character of students who are tolerant, inclusive, and adaptive to diversity, in line with the principles of religious moderation. However, many previous studies have focused on aspects of the curriculum or conventional methods without highlighting in depth how to integrate the values of moderation in Islamic education practices in the digital realm. There is a gap between the theory of religious moderation and its application in the digital-based education system, especially in the context of Islamic education in Indonesia. Therefore, the formulation of the problem in this study is: how to transform Islamic religious education in facing the challenges of religious moderation in the current digital era. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods and case studies on several Islamic educational institutions that have implemented moderation-based learning digitization programs. The results of this study are expected to make a practical contribution to the development of Islamic education models that are relevant to the digital era and theoretically enrich the literature on the integration of moderation values in religious education. These findings are also the basis for policy recommendations for educational institutions and related policymakers.

Abstract

This research aims to deepen the concept of internalization of religious moderation values for students based on the Qur'an as a source. The data collection technique uses library research, namely collecting various previous studies or journals. The concept of internalization of Qur'an-based religious moderation values is developed through four aspects classified under the concept of wasathiyah, namely the message of justice, adopting a middle position, becoming the best community, and having broad scholarly knowledge. This needs to be internalized in religious education for millennials amid the strong influence of liberalization and extremist actions carried out in the name of religion. Through the internalization of moderation values contained in the Qur'an, it is hoped that a generation with tolerant attitudes toward religious communities can be built, so that differences become a blessing entrusted by God to His followers.

Abstract

Education today is a very crucial aspect and a major need, especially in this modern era. To remain relevant, education must be able to adapt to the development of digital technology, so that it can produce competent students through collaboration between schools and teachers in the learning process. The rapid advancement of science and technology has brought great changes in human life. The role of teachers in the 21st century has undergone a significant transformation from the traditional model that is authoritative and teacher-centered, to a modern model that is student-oriented, collaborative, and adaptive to the times. 21st century teachers are no longer just transmitters of knowledge, but also facilitators of active learning, spiritual and moral guides, and agents of social change who can shape students' character to be ready to face global challenges. In the face of the challenges of the 21st century, teachers must have a deep understanding of digital technology to carry out their roles effectively. The competencies required include personality, professionalism, social skills, and pedagogic abilities that must be continuously updated to be able to meet the learning needs of students and the demands of society in this era
