Abstract

Organizational culture, especially in Islamic educational institutions, plays a crucial role, as it makes the institution adaptable, flexible, and elastic, just like a culture that will never experience decline and becomes perfect when combined with a religion based on the Qur'an and Sunnah. This research uses a qualitative approach that involves the researcher as the research instrument. In data collection, the rector is the key informant. Other informants were selected using snowball sampling techniques. This process continued until data saturation. In addition to interviews, research data were collected through observation and written documents. The collected data were analyzed following the steps outlined by Miles and Huberman (1984), such as data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions (illustration/verification). More specifically, data validation was done through triangulation. The research results show that the organizational culture that can develop UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah is the religious culture, hardworking culture, and disciplined culture. The values that have developed include the values of Fastabiqul khaerat, Jihad, Uswah, and togetherness.

Abstract

Core Competencies and Basic Competencies at SMP/MTs are essential curriculum components that determine learning outcomes, especially in science subjects whose contents refer to several practical activities. Practicum activities are a form of learning carried out in a specific place where students play an active role in solving problems through specific tools, materials and methods. This activity can be carried out at school in a science laboratory because it is supported by various adequate laboratory equipment and materials. There are various problems related to the implementation of science practicum, especially in several MTs in the Rejotangan Tulungagung District area. Some of the problems include the absence of laboratory space, practicum tools and materials, practicum manuals, practicum time that is too short, laboratory personnel and laboratory documents, and the competence of educators who are not suitable for science subjects. The solution to the problem is holding simple science practicum training for teachers, laboratory management training, and maximizing cooperative relations with universities.

Abstract

This article wants to reveal the development of the Islamic Boarding School of Miftahul Midad Lumajang in the process of going global. Miftahul Midad Lumajang meets the criteria of a modern Islamic Boarding School and has formatted its curriculum into an Islamic education model that is acceptable to various groups. Since its establishment in the 1980s, its development has been very rapid, because it not only implements the salaf system but also uses the integrated curriculum of the Ministry of Religion's formal school format. Now, after the opening of the institution, several surges of concept developments are put into practice. The theme of this article's discussion is how the implementation of the khalaf salaf curriculum in formal education at the Islamic boarding school of Miftahul Midad Lumajang is in facing the challenges of the times. Some of the problems are also how caregivers adopt the khalaf salaf curriculum with the opening of MTs, MA, and institutions. The ranks of caregivers provide evidence of success in practicing the khalaf salaf curriculum in the implementation of side-by-side learning. This success comes from the quality of the students and the ability of caregivers and teachers to coordinate to guide the students.
