Abstract

Proper waste management begins with individual awareness, particularly from an early age. This Community Service Program aimed to enhance the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of students in sorting and managing waste according to its types: organic, inorganic, and hazardous-toxic (B3) waste. The activity was conducted at SMP Islam Yayasan Nurul Iman, involving 60 students selected from various grade levels as the primary subjects. The program employed an educative-participatory approach through stages, including socialization, hands-on simulation, and the installation of segregated waste bins. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test instruments, revealing a 40%–50% increase in students’ understanding across five key waste management indicators. In addition to cognitive improvement, students also demonstrated positive behavioral changes in disposing of waste properly. The program received strong support from school staff and teachers and showed a multiplier effect, as students began applying waste sorting practices at home. These findings indicate that appropriate educational interventions and active student involvement can foster a sustainable culture of environmental awareness within schools.

Abstract

Bullying remains a latent issue at the elementary school level. This community service program aimed to reduce bullying behavior at SD Pemda Makassar by integrating the policy on Violence Prevention and Handling into teaching and learning activities. The population consisted of 43 fifth-grade students, with 15 students purposively selected as peer ambassadors. Core activities included positive discipline training for teachers, the P5 “Friends Without Fear” project, mentoring for Roots peer ambassadors, and the “Counseling Canteen” service for parents. Evaluation results showed significant improvement across four key components of the program. The participants’ average pre-test score was 61.3, which increased to 86.2 in the post-test. These findings confirm that a collaborative strategy involving teachers, students, and parents can create a safer, more positive learning environment that supports the character development of students.

Abstract

Pelatihan Numerasi Bagi Guru di Sekolah Dasar Kompleks Kaluku Bodoa Kecamatan Tallo Kota Makassar bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan mitra. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan Community-Based Research (CBR) yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif 30 guru sejak tahap perencanaan hingga evaluasi. Pelatihan menggunakan  metode ceramah interaktif, diskusi kelompok, simulasi pengajaran, dan studi kasus. Efektivitas pelatihan diukur menggunakan pre-test dan post-test yang dikembangkan oleh tim pengabdian. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman konsep dasar numerasi, penerapan numerasi dalam pembelajaran tematik, serta kemampuan guru dalam membedakan numerasi dengan berhitung dan mengaitkannya dengan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Pelatihan ini juga mendorong tumbuhnya kesadaran dan komitmen guru untuk menerapkan pembelajaran numerasi yang relevan dan kontekstual di kelas masing-masing. Dengan demikian, pelatihan ini memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap upaya penguatan literasi numerasi di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance entrepreneurship competencies among elementary school teachers in Mimika Regency, Papua. Through participatory workshops focusing on business planning, product innovation, and marketing strategies, 30 teachers from 10 schools were trained. The program successfully improved participants' understanding of entrepreneurship concepts by 42%, as evidenced by pre-test and post-test comparisons. Participants developed 12 school-based business proposals utilizing local resources, including woven noken crafts, school agro-businesses, and digital education services. The Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach proved effective in empowering teachers to identify and optimize existing school assets. Challenges such as limited capital and market access were addressed through crowdfunding training and partnerships with local cooperatives. The program not only enhanced teachers' entrepreneurial skills but also transformed their mindset from educators to change agents in school economic development. Recommendations include follow-up mentoring and curriculum integration to ensure sustainability.

Abstract

The Workshop on Strengthening the Role of Families and Communities in Supporting Child-Friendly Cities was conducted to enhance community capacity in creating environments that support children's growth and development. This activity used a participatory research-based approach and was implemented through five stages: needs identification, material planning, workshop implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding of child-friendly city concepts, positive parenting, and community roles. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test showed an average score improvement of 24.9 points. Twenty out of twenty-six participants created community action plans such as reading corners, neighborhood-based parenting groups, and supervised play areas. These findings indicate that a participatory educational approach can foster awareness and collective commitment to sustainably support child-friendly cities.

Abstract

Program pengabdian mengenai pengembangan manajemen pendidikan inklusif di SMA Negeri 3 Pangkep dilaksanakan untuk memperkuat kapasitas sekolah dalam menyediakan layanan pendidikan yang adaptif dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik yang beragam. Kegiatan diawali dengan sosialisasi kepada seluruh pemangku kepentingan sekolah untuk membangun kesadaran dan komitmen bersama mengenai pentingnya layanan inklusi, dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan bagi guru dan tenaga kependidikan terkait pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, asesmen kebutuhan siswa, serta penyusunan RPP adaptif. Pendampingan praktik langsung dilakukan untuk mengimplementasikan strategi pengelolaan kelas inklusi, termasuk observasi kelas, umpan balik profesional, dan penyusunan dokumen teknis seperti SOP penerimaan peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus, mekanisme asesmen, serta panduan layanan konseling. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman guru, kesiapan manajemen sekolah, serta ketersediaan pedoman kelembagaan yang mendukung implementasi pendidikan inklusif. Tahap selanjutnya diarahkan pada monitoring berkelanjutan, penguatan kemitraan strategis, dan pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran agar sekolah dapat mengembangkan model inklusi yang lebih matang dan berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berkontribusi terhadap terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang lebih ramah, adaptif, dan berkeadilan, serta menempatkan SMA Negeri 3 Pangkep sebagai sekolah yang berpotensi menjadi rujukan penerapan pendidikan inklusif di Kabupaten Pangkep
