Abstract

The direct causes of stunting include inadequate nutritional intake and infectious diseases. Lack of awareness and knowledge of women of childbearing age, especially pregnant women, regarding the importance of nutritious food and types of nutritious food during pregnancy, can contribute to stunting. The solution offered is the provision of health education, this activity will be aligned with the government. Activities were carried out synergistically in one of the villages, namely Bange Village with the participation of the Community Health Center, District Head, Village Head, and nutrition practitioners. The objective of this study is to increase the knowledge and understanding of pregnant women about the importance of consuming nutritious food during pregnancy to prevent stunting in their babies. Beside it, to conduct the health promotion at the community base by providing health education about the importance of nutritious food and nutritious foods for pregnant women and their processing. Before the activity was carried out, a pre-test was carried out and after that a post-test was given to evaluate the results of the health education carried out. Evaluation of activities by assessing the comparison of pre-test scores and post-test scores. After the health education activities are completed, pregnant women are given additional food packages. Health education about the importance of nutritious food and nutritious foods for pregnant women and their processing is proven to increase knowledge.

Abstract

A gadget is a small electronic device that has many functions, is designed with high technology, is practical to use, and is constantly undergoing updates. The use of gadgets is growing very quickly in all age groups, especially children and adolescents. The dangers of using gadgets can have an impact on the physical and psychological condition of the child. In 2019 and 2020 there was an increase in the number of children who had to be referred to psychiatric hospitals related to gadget addiction, soit was necessary to socialize about the dangers of gadgets in health. The purpose of this community service is to increase children's knowledge about the health hazards caused by the use of gadgets. Activities in the form of socializationabout gadgets and their dangers to health, with material in the form of understanding, types of gadgets, health impacts caused, and how to control and prevent them.  The methods used are socialization, giving leaflets, and interactive discussions. The subjects targeted were children and adolescents assisted by the Nareswari Thematic Village, Purwosari Village, North Semarang District. The results of community service showed a higher knowledge score after socialization than before counseling.

Abstract

Adolescents are a group that is at risk of developing anemia caused by a lack of iron in the body due to various triggering factors, including monthly menstruation and an unhealthy lifestyle. Anemia in adolescents can result in decreased immunity, decreased concentration, and decreased appetite. The long-term impact, when they are adults and pregnant will be at risk of experiencing anemia in pregnancy and giving birth to babies with LBW or premature. Therefore it is necessary to have an understanding of anemia and how to detect signs and symptoms that appear so that adolescents can immediately overcome the problems they face. The target of this activity is young women at the Bina Insani Depok Halfway House. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge about anemia and how to detect signs and symptoms of anemia. The number of participants was 39 young women. The method used is the provision of health education with lectures, questions and answers, discussions, demonstrations, and re-demonstrations. Before the implementation of the activity, a pre-test was carried out and after that a post-test was carried out using a questionnaire. The results showed an increase in knowledge of 38.86% and 82% psychomotor in young women regarding how to do early detection of signs and symptoms of anemia. This shows the provision of health education using a variety of effective methods to improve knowledge and psychomotor.

Abstract

In this era of the industrial revolution 4.0, there are many teenagers whose attitudes and behavior are very caring. Health problems that are quite vulnerable to adolescents are fluid balance problems, because adolescents are more active in physical activities and there are also changes in metabolism in the body so that the need for fluids increases. The Indonesian Regional Hydration Study (THIRST) research suggests that 46.1% of the Indonesian population is mildly dehydrated, where adolescents have a higher level of mild dehydration (49.5%) than adults (42.5%), increase the risk of kidney stones, urinary tract infections, colon cancer, constipation, obesity, cerebral vascular stroke, and other disorders. The target of this activity is 23 students from SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. The output of the activity is an increase in the cognitive aspects, attitudes and behavior of students in maintaining the health of the kidney organs. The activity was carried out with a Health Education approach. After being given health education, there was an increase in knowledge of the majority of students.

Abstract

Conventional medicines are medicines that use synthetic or inorganic materials, are antibiotics (kill cancer) and can only treat symptoms of disease and can cause side effects. Traditional medicine is a material or concoction of ingredients in the form of plant materials, animal materials, mineral materials, galenic preparations or mixtures of these materials which have been used for generations for treatment, and can be applied in accordance with the norms applicable in communities that have little side effects. Providing information to the public about how to use conventional and traditional medicines. Lecture, question and answer, and pamphlet methods. Information about long-term deadly diseases that make people aware of the importance of using both conventional and traditional medicines.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a disease that has a broad psychosocial impact, especially for patients and their families. In Indonesia, there are about 50 new cases of cervical cancer per 100,000 population per year. cervical cancer is a malignant tumor disease in the cervical area as a result of uncontrolled tissue growth and damage the surrounding normal tissue. Posyandu Lavenda is one of the active posyandu and has represented Jambi Province in the Posyandu competition to the National level. The Lavenda Posyandu was also chosen as a place tso be used as a Pendopo as a place for meetings between RTs. As a form of activity, the Lavenda posyandu was once a place for a free IVA (Visual Acetate Inspection) test held by Kenali Besar Health Center officers. IVA test is one way to detect early for the prevention of cervical cancer. This community service is carried out by providing education through counseling to WUS women about cervical cancer prevention. held from October to January 2022 at the Lavenda Posyandu, Kenali Besar Village. The purpose of this service activity is to provide education by providing health education/counseling on cervical cancer prevention, with the hope of increasing WUS knowledge and awareness in preventing cervical cancer. The results obtained after community service was carried out were an increase in WUS knowledge about cervical cancer prevention at the Lavenda Posyandu, Recognized Besar Sub-district, Jambi City. The implementation of community service activities carried out by conducting education (counseling) using leaflets was able to increase WUS knowledge about cervical cancer prevention.

Abstract

Christ the King of Surabaya Parish through the Socio-Economic Development Section (PSE) in collaboration with Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya, was committed to assisting the Indonesian government's program in terms of improving the post-pandemic family economy through training in making health drinks from herbal ingredients, namely water kefir, which has been used as a probiotic drink. The training participants were underprivileged families in the Parish of Christ the King Surabaya. The training was carried out for 1 day with presentation of material by the team, training implementation and training evaluation by filling out pre-tests, post-tests and questionnaires as well as 30 days of assistance for participants who were interested in developing products to improve their economy. The results of the training show high enthusiasm from the participants, an increase in the knowledge of the participants which was marked by an increase in the value of the posttest compared to the pretest and the desire of the participants to produce and market products to improve the family economy

Abstract

Coronavirus is a group of viruses that can cause disease in animals or humans. Several types of coronavirus are known to cause respiratory infections in humans ranging from coughs and colds to more serious ones such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). One way that can be done to help the government break the increasing chain of COVID-19 transmission is to get used to the implementation of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) in all groups, both parents and children. The results of interviews with adolescents at the Bina Anak Sholeh Orphanage showed that they had not received clear information on COVID-19 prevention, so they wanted information about COVID-19 directly. Objective: Increase knowledge of adolescents about the prevention of COVID-19 based on video for teenagers at the Sholeh orphanage. Method: Implementation of community service by providing education to adolescents with COVID-19 prevention videos was held on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Results: The results of the evaluation of the activities that have been carried out show that youth are very enthusiastic about participating in extension activities from beginning to end. The results of the questions and answers carried out by the moderator after the delivery of counseling materials confirmed that most participants had understood the COVID-19 material and that they could re-practice proper hand washing as a form of prevention from COVID-19. Conclusion: This service is expected to be able to increase knowledge about the prevention of COVID - 19 and be able to implement clean and healthy living habits in everyday life

Abstract

The use of smartphones or communication tools that can be easily connected to the internet has increased from time to time. Neck Pain that occurs in students can affect various aspects of life, such as reduced work productivity, disrupted quality of life, and school activities. Community service activities were carried out in March-April 2021 with discussion methods and presenting materials and illustrated posters related to cervical stretching education in Neck Pain cases through Zoom Meetings. In this illustrated poster there are 4 cervical stretching movements. This Community Service (PKM) aims to be used as a source of knowledge and management of neck pain and neck stiffness due to neck pain in high school students 5 Merangin. The results of the evaluation through questions and answers through the Zoom Meeting application are that on average students know and can practice cervical stretching correctly, and complaints of neck pain and neck stiffness are reduced.

Abstract

The stunting rate in Indonesia is 21.6%. This figure is based on the results of the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), the stunting rate decreased by 2.8% from 2021, while the government's target for 2024 is that the stunting rate in Indonesia is 14%, for this reason the government has made various efforts to meet the target. 2024. Based on data from the Jambi Provincial Health Service in 2018, for Jambi Province, the stunting prevalence rate was 30.1% with the highest percentage of stunting found in West Tanjung Jabung Regency (44%) and the lowest in Sarolangun Regency 18.8%, for Jambi City the figure Stunting incidence 26.2%. Catfish has important nutritional benefits in preventing stunting in toddlers. Apart from catfish containing high nutritional value, catfish is a type of fish that is easy to find and cheap. So the consumption of catfish is an effort to overcome stunting in toddlers that can be reached by both upper and lower classes of society. Apart from that, in efforts to overcome stunting, the community needs to be given an understanding of the importance of nutrition for toddlers and early childhood, namely by providing education to mothers of toddlers and early childhood with the Mother Smart Grounding (MSG) program at Mukti Tama Kindergarten, Jambi City, targeting mothers. Teachers of Mukti Tama Kindergarten students. Activities are carried out by: Lectures, Visual Presentations, group discussions. Results: an increase in the average knowledge of mothers and parents of Mukti Tama KB Kindergarten children with an average of 2.0. Conclusion: Most of the participants, 85%, responded very well to the material provided. There needs to be continuous health education activities in coordination between kindergartens and health workers holding the KIA program in the PKM Simpang Kawat work area.
