Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of self-efficacy on career decision-making among vocational high school (SMK) students and identify the factors that influence it. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA approach, which includes the identification, screening, evaluation, and interpretation of articles from the Taylor & Francis and Sage Journal databases. Of the 5,533 articles found, four relevant articles were analyzed. The results show that self-efficacy plays a significant role in building students' confidence in choosing a career that suits their interests and potential. Factors such as social support, academic experience, family environment, work experience, and active decision-making strategies contribute significantly to increasing self-efficacy. In addition, interventions such as career guidance, self-exploration training, job simulations, and career workshops have proven effective in helping vocational high school students face the challenges of an increasingly complex working world. This study concludes that strong self-efficacy can help vocational high school students achieve optimal career readiness. It is necessary to develop innovative and integrated career guidance programs, involving schools, parents, and industry, to support students in making informed career decisions. This study provides valuable insights for guidance and counseling teachers in improving more effective career guidance services.

Abstract

Counseling services play a vital role in promoting students’ holistic development by enhancing their moral, emotional, and social adjustment within the school environment. This study assessed the effectiveness of counseling approaches in character building among secondary school students in Kinondoni Municipality, Tanzania. Specifically, it examined how psychodynamic, humanistic, and client-centered counseling approaches influence students’ behavior and personal growth. A mixed-method research design was used, integrating quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews among 528 participants, including teachers, students, school heads, and parents. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that counseling significantly contributes to students’ discipline, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationships; however, its impact is hindered by insufficient resources, limited professional training, and low administrative support. The study recommends that counseling services be strengthened through capacity building, dedicated facilities, and policy integration to promote sustainable character development among students.

Abstract

This study examines the pedagogical and psychological developmental characteristics of children with dysarthria and severe speech impairments. Through systematic observation and clinical analysis of 85 children aged 4-12 years with various speech disorders (dysarthria, rhinolalia, stuttering, alalia, and phonetic-phonemic impairments), this research investigated changes in mental processes including memory, attention, thinking, perception, and their implications for educational outcomes. The findings suggest that severe speech impairments significantly influence cognitive development and social interaction, with 73% of participants showing delayed development in at least two mental processes. Results indicated that integrated intervention involving speech therapists, psychologists, and neurologists produced measurable improvements in both speech production and cognitive function. This study highlights the critical need for early, comprehensive intervention and provides evidence for a multidisciplinary approach to treating children with severe speech impairments

Abstract

This study explores university faculty members’ perceptions of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into educational counseling, focusing on awareness, perceived usefulness, ethical implications, and institutional readiness. Using a descriptive quantitative design, data were collected from 250 faculty members at the University of Zawia through a structured questionnaire encompassing seven thematic domains. Participants were selected using a stratified random sampling technique to ensure balanced representation in academic disciplines and ranks. The results revealed generally high levels of awareness and positive attitudes toward AI applications in counseling. Faculty participants recognized the potential of AI to enhance efficiency, data management, and accessibility of counseling services. However, they expressed strong ethical and privacy concerns, particularly regarding data protection, bias, and the potential erosion of the human empathy central to counseling practice. Respondents also emphasized the need for structured training programs and institutional investment to strengthen technological readiness. The findings indicate that while cognitive acceptance of AI is high, affective and ethical reservations persist, reflecting the cultural emphasis on interpersonal trust and human connection in Arab academic contexts. Overall, the study underscores the importance of balancing technological innovation with ethical accountability and human values. It concludes that successful AI integration in university counseling requires a comprehensive framework encompassing staff development, policy guidance, and ethical safeguards to ensure that digital transformation remains human-centered and contextually appropriate.
