Abstract

The educational signboard program on the decomposition time of inorganic waste in Titik Village, Semen District, Kediri Regency was implemented to raise public awareness of the impact of inorganic waste that is difficult to decompose. The Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach was used to empower the community through five stages: discovery, dream, design, define, and destiny. The results of the activity showed an increase in residents' understanding of the types of inorganic waste and their decomposition times, such as plastic bottles (approximately 400 years), aluminum cans (80–200 years), milk cartons (5 years), and styrofoam (non-biodegradable). The signs installed at strategic locations serve as both an information medium and a reminder for the community to manage waste properly. This activity not only impacted changes in residents' behavior but also encouraged active participation and cooperation in maintaining environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

Stunting Nutritional challenges and low health literacy in rural areas remain critical public health concerns, including in Mireng Village, Trucuk District, which exhibits a potential risk of stunting. This community service program was designed to enhance the understanding of pregnant women, mothers of toddlers, and posyandu cadres regarding stunting prevention. The activities were implemented using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, leveraging local potentials through participatory stages of planning, implementation, and reporting. The program encompassed educational sessions, awareness campaigns, and direct assistance in Mireng Lor and Pager hamlets. The educational content covered the definition, causes, and prevention strategies for stunting, including the application of healthy kitchen practices. The outcomes demonstrated an improvement in participants’ knowledge and awareness of balanced nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding, and growth monitoring during the First 1,000 Days of Life. The application of the Health Belief Model and community-based intervention principles further strengthened community involvement and cross-sector collaboration, fostering sustainable efforts to reduce stunting prevalence at the village level.

Abstract

Introducing entrepreneurship at an early age will provide children with the knowledge that the goods being sold are not simply made out of thin air. There is a process involved in transforming raw materials into finished goods and calculating the profit from the goods sold. This activity was carried out at the Pondok Tahfiz Qur’an Al Luqman, Riwayat I Road Gg. Tower, Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The method used in this community service activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR), allowing participants to directly engage in the production process. The aim of this activity is to instill an entrepreneurial spirit in children from an early age and enable them to recognize raw materials that can be processed into marketable products. The target is for children to gain new knowledge about processing raw materials into finished products and how to package them. The outcome of the community service activity is that the children learned about fruit salad processing and how to market their products.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is a household waste whose environmental and health impacts are often overlooked. Careless disposal can damage soil, water, and ecosystems. This community service aimed to educate the public about processing used cooking oil into environmentally friendly handwashing soap through a participatory-educational approach. Implemented by STIKes Bogor Husada at Sempur Field, Bogor City, as part of its 6th Anniversary, the activity involved direct outreach and distribution of soap made from used oil. A total of 100 bottles were distributed to more than 100 participants. The results showed increased understanding of the dangers of oil disposal and its economic potential if recycled. Positive responses, interest in further training, and wider impact through social media demonstrate that an educational approach with concrete actions is effective in fostering awareness and behavior, while serving as a contribution of higher education institutions in health advocacy and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Waste management remains a critical environmental issue, particularly in rural areas such as Tanggulkundung Village, Tulungagung Regency, which lacks adequate infrastructure and ecological awareness. This community service activity aims to raise environmental awareness among the younger generation through a waste-sorting awareness campaign using the Asset- Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which focuses on strengthening local assets, particularly elementary school students as agents of change. The implementation method consisted of four stages: asset identification, educational material planning, interactive outreach to students in grades 1–6 at SDN 1 and SDN 2 Tanggulkundung, and evaluation of the program outcomes. The results showed active participation from 54 students with a significant increase in knowledge and attitudes regarding waste sorting. Teachers and school principals reported behavioral changes among students and expressed support for sustaining the initiative. The discussion emphasizes that age-appropriate educational methods and institutional support are key to the success of the ABCD approach.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the digital literacy and marketing skills of the Jatirejo Village community through affiliate marketing training, using the Participatory Action Research(PAR) method. This method was chosen because it actively involves the community in every stage of the program, including problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that the solutions are contextually relevant. The training focused on introducing the basic concepts of affiliate marketing, creating accounts on affiliate platforms, selecting appropriate products, and developing promotional content on social media. In addition, participants were equipped with technical skills such as product photography and persuasive copywriting, enabling them to adopt content-based marketing strategies aligned with current digital trends. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ conceptual understanding, technical skills, and creativity in promoting local products. Positive impacts were also evident in the form of new income opportunities without requiring large capital and increased economic empowerment in the village. Despite challenges such as limited internet access and consistency in practice, recommendations including the establishment of a village affiliate marketer community, government support, and continuous training were proposed to overcome them. Therefore, this program represents a strategic step in strengthening the competitiveness of Jatirejo Village in the digital era.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) of UIN Syekh Wasil Kediri in Ngino Village aims to improve the capabilities of UMKM using digitalization, media promotion, and halal certification approaches. Ngino Village has potential in agriculture and UMKM, but still faces difficulties in marketing and business legality. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, the KKN 87 team assisted UMKM in creating Shopee accounts, Instagram business accounts, marking locations on Google Maps, and creating promotional media such as business banners. In addition, assistance was also provided in the process of processing Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and halal certification through the OSS and SiHalal systems. The results of this activity show that UMKM are better prepared to compete in the digital era, have official legality, and can market their products more widely and professionally. This empowerment not only improves the technical skills of business actors but also strengthens branding and consumer trust in local products. This activity demonstrates that collaboration between students, technology, and the community can encourage the sustainable development of UMKM.

Abstract

The waste problem in Sepang Village, Taktakan District, Serang City is a serious challenge due to the community’s low awareness of cleanliness and limited waste management facilities. This community service program aims to enhance knowledge, foster collective awareness, and encourage community participation in environmental care. The program applied the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing active community involvement. The activities included outreach by the Environmental Agency, interactive discussions, communal clean-up, ecobrick-making practice, and the installation of educational boards on waste decomposition. The results showed improved community understanding of waste impacts, revived collective cooperation, and appreciation of ecobrick as a practical solution. Challenges such as uneven participation and limited facilities remain important notes for follow-up. Overall, the program highlights that environmental change requires a collective process, consistency, and continuous support.
