The independent curriculum develops learning according to the interests, learning styles, and abilities of students, which are connected to teacher competencies. The phases of the independent curriculum in elementary school are Phase A, Phase B, and Phase C. In the independent curriculum, there is a Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA), which contains numeracy literacy. This research aims to produce a numeracy assessment product for the phase-B independent curriculum that contains Ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics is the integration of curriculum, pedagogy, mathematics, and local wisdom. Local wisdom used as ethnomathematics integration makes students trained and able to explore mathematical concepts around the environment. This research method is Research And Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Desseminase). The results of material validation are 4.9 with a score of 98% conclusion worth using, the results of language validation are an average of 4.6 with a score of 92% conclusion worth using, and the results of material validation 4.7 with a score of 94% conclusion worth using. The average pretest result of trial-1 was 61, and trial-2 was 62.5. The posttest results from trial-1 were 88.4, and trial-2 were 92. The N-Gain Score results obtained 0.715, which means high, with the interpretation of the effectiveness of N-Gain 71.5%, which means effective. Student response questionnaire results in 83% very satisfied category. It is concluded that the ethnomathematics-based numeracy assessment in the independent curriculum Phase B developed is feasible to use and effective in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Mahad Aly Zawiyah Jakarta in providing a specialized Fiqh education that addresses the unique demands of urban dakwah. With urbanization increasingly shaping the lives of Muslims in city environments, traditional approaches to religious learning often struggle to meet the practical and ethical challenges faced by urban communities. As a result, many urban Muslims may develop a limited or superficial understanding of Islamic principles. Employing a qualitative case study approach, this research gathers data through interviews with educators and students, observations of classroom practices, and analysis of institutional documents to examine the curriculum, teaching methods, and impact of Zawiyah Jakarta’s Fiqh education program. Findings reveal that Zawiyah Jakarta effectively combines traditional Fiqh education with an awareness of modern urban issues, enriching urban dakwah efforts by addressing contemporary challenges. Notable features of Mahad Aly Zawiyah’s curriculum include contextualizing Fiqh teachings specific to urban settings, including ethical decision-making frameworks, and integrating contemporary societal issues, making the program highly relevant for urban Muslims. This study contributes valuable insights into Islamic education by presenting Zawiyah Jakarta’s program as a replicable model that other Islamic educational institutions can adapt. It offers a comprehensive framework for Fiqh education in urban contexts.

Abstract

Using podcast as a learning medium has proven effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes in university, especially in Islamic Education courses. Learning strategies tended to use traditional methods such as lectures, which were less interesting and reduced learning interest. However, after implementing the podcast, there is a significant increase in students' understanding, motivation, and participation. The podcast allows students to learn independently and flexibly according to their needs and supports constructivist learning theory, emphasizing tools' role in the learning process. The advantages of Podcasts include flexibility of time and place, the ability to repeat material, adaptation to auditory learning styles, and content creativity. By integrating multimedia elements such as sound and music, podcasts also fulfil the principles of multimedia theory, which increases understanding and absorption. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method to design effective podcast learning. According to the ARCS motivation model, the results showed that podcasts were relevant to students' needs and could attract attention, build self-confidence, and provide satisfaction in the learning process. For optimal results, using podcasts requires special strategies, such as short duration, thorough materials preparation, training for lecturers, and multimedia elements integration. In addition to being a learning tool, Podcasts encourage creative collaboration between lecturers and students. With this approach, podcasts are expected to be an innovative medium that supports a more relevant, flexible, and enjoyable learning process in the digital era.

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate how much ethical philosophy influences a teacher's work ethic in an educational context. The focus of the study involves evaluating teachers' understanding of the principles of ethical philosophy relevant to their duties and responsibilities as educators. Research methods involve literature studies, surveys, interviews, and content analysis to gain a comprehensive understanding. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of the extent to which teachers understand ethical values and how they are reflected in their daily practices. It is also expected to identify a direct influence between the understanding of ethical philosophy and the work ethic of teachers. Case studies and statistical analysis are used to gain deeper insight into implementing ethical values in teaching, student interaction, and decision-making. Through a better understanding of the relationship between ethical philosophy and teacher work ethic, this research can contribute to the educational literature and open the door to developing strategies or training programs that can strengthen the influence of ethical philosophy in shaping ethical and meaningful educational practices.
