Abstract

Futsal is played by 5 players, one of whom is a goalkeeper. Futsal goalkeepers really need reactions to anticipate the ball from entering the goal. The problem faced by goalkeepers is reaction and reflex in playing, and to improve the reaction, reaction ball media can be used as quickness training. This study aims to provide an understanding of the importance of futsal goalkeeper reactions in playing. Goalkeeper reaction training can provide significant benefits in improving physical performance. This study uses an experimental method and a quantitative approach with a one group pre-test-post-test design. The population used in this study were extracurricular goalkeepers of of junior high school 23 Bandung aged 13-15 years and male. With a total of 10 goalkeepers of of junior high school 23 Bandung, with a purposive sampling technique. The study used one test instrument, namely a test to measure the goalkeeper’s reaction speed using a whole body reaction tool. The data was processed and analyzed using SPSS version 25. The results of the study showed thatQuickness training using reaction ball media has an effect on improving futsal goalkeeper reactions. It can be concluded that to improve futsal goalkeeper reactions, one of which is using reaction ball media, of course with a structured program.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between wrist flexibility and arm muscle strength with smash accuracy and speed in badminton athletes of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). In this study using descriptive methods with correlational techniques and the sample in this study amounted to 12 UPI Badminton UKM athletes.. Descriptive statistics show the average wrist flexibility of 99.16, arm muscle strength of 5.01, smash accuracy of 4.25, and smash speed of 103.83. The normality test results showed that the data were normally distributed (p> 0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship between wrist flexibility and smash accuracy (r = 0.640, p = 0.025) and smash speed (r = 0.662, p = 0.019). Similarly, arm muscle strength was significantly associated with accuracy (r = 0.587, p = 0.045) and smash speed (r = 0.720, p = 0.008). However, the regression analysis results showed that these two variables together did not have a significant effect on smash accuracy (p = 0.081) but were significant on smash speed (p = 0.030). The results of this study underscore the importance of wrist flexibility and arm muscle strength in supporting smash performance, both in terms of accuracy and speed. Training that focuses on improving flexibility and arm muscle strength is recommended to help athletes improve the quality of their smashes, while still considering aspects of technique and coordination.

Abstract

Psychological factors are one of the factors that support athlete performance. Therefore, there is a need for psychological training to overcome various psychological problems, especially the concentration and performance of karate athletes. This study aims to examine the effect of imagery training on the concentration and performance of kata karate athletes based on gender. This research uses an experimental method with a post-test only design. The sample used in this research was 10 karate kata Gokasi athletes from Bandung City, consisting of 5 female and 5 male athletes aged 11-13 years. Intensive imagery training was given as a research treatment, where they would imagine detailed word movements with an exercise duration of 10-15 minutes per session, frequency 3-4 times a week for 4 weeks. Measurements were carried out in two aspects, namely concentration using the Concentration Grid Test (CGT) and performance using the jury’s assessment through mini-events. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS Version 27 statistical test. The results of the study showed that the impact of visualization training on the focus and performance of karate kata athletes, both male and female, varied greatly. Male athletes outperformed female athletes in the concentration variable, while female athletes outperformed male athletes in the performance variable. Thus, it can be said that imagination training is one of the exercises that can be used to help karate kata athletes, both male and female, to be more focused and perform better.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an effective and efficient service training model for sepaktakraw athletes in DKI Jakarta. The research method employs Research and Development (R&D) using the Borg and Gall development model, which consists of ten development steps. The research subjects were divided into two groups: a small group (10 athletes from the UNJ Prestasi Sports Club for sepaktakraw) and a large group (30 athletes from Regional Sport Training Center and Student Sports Training Center of DKI Jakarta). The study produced 15 variations of service training models validated by three experts: the coach of Regional Sports Training Center Sepaktakraw DKI Jakarta, the assistant coach of Regional Sports Training Center, and a sepaktakraw expert lecturer from UNJ. Validation results indicated that all models were deemed feasible for implementation. Analysis data using the t-test showed a significant improvement between the pre-test and post-test scores, with t-value = 24.030 > t-table = 1.699 (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The developed training models integrate the use of tools such as balance balls, resistance bands, and PVC pipes, which have proven effective in enhancing athletes’ service skills. Although requiring intensive supervision, these models successfully created training variations that maintained athlete motivation and prevented boredom during the training process.

Abstract

Problems with physical literacy in schools cover a wide range of aspects that can affect students' health and well-being. Common problems include lack of time for physical education, inadequate facilities, low prioritization of physical activity, and lack of awareness about the health benefits, among others. In Indonesia, physical literacy is a new idea that is developing in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to analyze how physical literacy relates to sport values. This study used cross sectional survey research. This study involved 111 junior high school students in Bandung City, (male = 48 people; female = 63 people) with an age range of 12-15 years. The results showed that there was a relationship between physical literacy and sport values (r = 0.469; Sig < 0.001). The resulting correlation level is included in the medium criteria and describes a positive relationship so that if the Physical Literacy variable increases, the Youth Sport Values variable increases and vice versa. Thus, understanding related to physical literacy and sport values can be used as an important indicator in the physical education learning process that must be considered by teachers

Abstract

The learning model based on movement coordination is believed to improve the basic skills of volleyball more optimally. Therefore, a literature review is needed to analyze the effectiveness of the movement coordination learning model in improving the basic technique of volleyball. This study aims to examine and analyze various models of movement coordination learning that have been applied in volleyball training and their impact on improving players' basic techniques. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing various journals, books, and scientific articles that discuss the learning model of movement coordination in sports, especially volleyball. The sources of literature used come from relevant research in the last 10 years. The analysis was carried out by reviewing the effectiveness of the movement coordination learning model on the development of basic techniques of volleyball players. Based on the literature review conducted, it was found that the learning model based on movement coordination had a positive impact on improving the basic techniques of volleyball. This model is able to improve motor skills, balance, and player response speed in match situations. In addition, this learning approach also supports the improvement of tactical understanding and game strategy through more varied and dynamic exercises. The movement coordination learning model has proven to be effective in improving the basic technique of volleyball. With the right application, this model can help players in developing technical and motor skills more optimally. Therefore, sports coaches and educators are advised to integrate this model in training programs to improve the quality of volleyball learning.
