JIPSH berfokus pada isu-isu terkini dalam pendidikan, termasuk kebijakan, kurikulum, pedagogi, teknologi pendidikan, dan manajemen pendidikan. Selain itu, jurnal ini juga membahas berbagai aspek sosial seperti kebudayaan, kebijakan publik, sosiologi, serta isu-isu dalam humaniora seperti filsafat, sejarah, sastra, dan bahasa. Jurnal ini diterbitkan secara berkala dan menggunakan sistem peer-review untuk memastikan kualitas serta orisinalitas artikel yang dipublikasikan. Abstract

A major contributor to raising educational standards is the professionalism of teachers. The strategic role of educational supervision in this context is to support and empower teachers in the performance of their professional responsibilities through a methodical and ongoing effort. According to this article, educational supervision is a useful tactic for improving teachers' pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competences. Supervision is a technique for teacher self-development as well as evaluation through needs-based and participative approaches. Supervision can promote a professional work culture that supports ongoing teacher development by putting many forms of supervision into practice, including clinical, academic, administrative, and collaborative supervision. The results demonstrate the beneficial effects of regular and thoughtful supervision on school learning quality. Thus, educational monitoring ought to be incorporated into education-related human resource development policies.

Abstract

The learning process of Fiqh subjects at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level is often dominated by conventional lecture methods, which tend to reduce students’ active participation and hinder their deep understanding of religious concepts. This becomes a significant challenge for teachers in delivering materials that are expected to be understood not only theoretically but also applied in daily life. Based on this condition, the present study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Mind Mapping method in improving students’ understanding of Fiqh subject matter in Class VII of MTs Nur Ibrahimy Enoman, Situbondo. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of Mind Mapping significantly enhances students’ cognitive understanding, as shown by their improved ability to organize and explain the material systematically and creatively. Furthermore, affective aspects such as learning enthusiasm, a sense of responsibility, empathy, and self-confidence also improved. These results suggest that Mind Mapping is not only theoretically effective but also practically applicable, particularly in the context of Islamic religious education. It provides a strategic alternative for teachers to foster active, meaningful, and enjoyable learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the discussion method in developing students' argumentation skills in Aqidah Akhlak at MA Muhammadiyah 01 Jember. The background of this study is based on teachers who still rely on conventional methods such as lectures in delivering material so that students tend to be less active in class, and this discussion method is designed to determine the extent to which students understand the material that has been delivered. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study type, through observation, interview and documentation techniques. The discussion method has proven effective in enhancing students' ability to express opinions, think critically, and collaborate. Supporting factors include a conducive classroom atmosphere and the teacher's role as a facilitator, while time constraints are the main obstacle.

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the professional competence of teachers at SMPN 03 Siak Hulu, with a particular focus on the balance between knowledge and responsibility in teaching practice. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews with several long-serving teachers. The findings reveal that teacher professionalism is not solely based on mastery of subject matter, but also includes understanding student characteristics, the ability to prepare instructional tools, and strong commitment to duty despite various limitations. Teachers demonstrated a high level of moral awareness, including the responsibility to teach with empathy, act as role models, and ensure that the knowledge imparted carries ethical value. Administrative challenges, long travel distances to school, and dynamic curriculum demands did not reduce their spirit of service. A professional teacher is one who consistently reflects on their role and the impact of their teaching on students. These findings emphasize that teacher professionalism must be understood as a synergy of competence, ethics, and dedication. This study recommends the development of educational policies that are more contextual and responsive to the real needs of teachers in the field.

Abstract

Student motivation is a crucial factor in enhancing the quality of the learning process and outcomes in educational institutions. One of the factors influencing motivation is the interpersonal communication between teachers and students. This study aims to examine the influence of teachers' interpersonal communication on students' motivation to learn at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Wuluhan. The research adopts a quantitative approach with simple linear regression to predict motivation based on interpersonal communication. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students and analyzed using statistical methods. The results indicate a positive and significant effect of teachers' interpersonal communication on students' motivation to learn. These findings highlight the importance of effective communication in creating a conducive learning environment and increasing student motivation. This research is expected to provide recommendations for educational stakeholders to improve teachers' interpersonal communication competencies to enhance students' motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to initiate how the Independent Curriculum is implemented as a strategic effort in shaping the character of students in the school environment. This curriculum is designed as a solution to the previous education system which was considered less flexible, by providing more freedom for students to develop their potential, think critically, and create innovation through diverse and student-centered learning approaches. One of the main elements of the Independent Curriculum is the use of project-based learning methods aimed at strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. This profile includes core values ​​such as religiosity, independence, mutual cooperation, global diversity insight, and critical reasoning skills. In its implementation, the Independent Curriculum also emphasizes character formation through three main approaches, namely classroom learning activities, strengthening school culture, and community involvement. Character formation is not only carried out through open materials, but also through various activities outside the classroom such as co-curricular and extracurricular programs that instill moral and social values. The process of character formation of students is designed systematically and continuously by combining cognitive, emotional, and motor aspects, so as to produce graduates who are not only academically intelligent, but also have a strong personality and good morals. Based on the results of this study, the Independent Curriculum has significant potential in creating a more comprehensive and relevant education system to the needs of the times.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to study phenomena that occur in society and find out how parents consider the Ma'hadul Muta'allimin Katerban Ngawi Islamic boarding school as an educational choice for their children. This research focuses on parents' understanding of how they choose Islamic boarding schools as an educational choice for their children. This study analyzes phenomenology from the perspective of social construction theory. The research collected data through observation, documentation and in-depth interviews. This research was conducted at Ma'hadul Muta'allimin, an educational institution that offers formal education and religious knowledge in one place. The research results show that the Ma'hadul Muta'allimin Katerban Ngawi Islamic boarding school is an Islamic educational institution that offers religious and formal education which continues to change according to the demands of the times. Internal factors, such as family culture and parental education, and external factors, such as teenagers' interactions, the reality of society, and parents' busy lives, including parental considerations, such as religious and formal education, and full supervision from the Islamic boarding school management.

Abstract

Marriage is a bond that is built by two men and women to continue the offspring of the two people. The impact of the marriage is that a new family will be born. do not forget that a very important thing in marriage is to fulfill the terms and conditions according to the applicable Islamic law. In the discussion of this article, researchers used the library research method (library research) which was carried out from the shafi'iyah madhhab. From the many requirements and pillars in marriage, researchers narrowed down the discussion to the requirements and position of the marriage guardian according to the views of the shafi'iyah madhhab, because without a guardian in marriage, the marriage will not be valid, therefore the existence of a guardian is very important in a marriage.

Abstract

This research is motivated by several problem factors that occur in classroom learning, one of which is the lack of references and teacher innovation in the use of learning methods, and it turns out that there are still students who ignore learning about faith and morals which are considered less interesting in delivering the material, the aim is to determine the influence of the Teams Games Tournament method on Student Learning Outcomes in the Faith and Morals Subject of Class VIII MTs Sa Al-Falah in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. This research uses a type of quantitative research with a Pre-Experimental Design approach in the form of a One Group Pretsest-Posttest Design pattern. The population in this research uses class VIII, totaling 25 students as the Pre-test and Posttest Class. The sampling technique used by researchers is Saturated Sampling. Where all members of class VIII students were used as samples. The class was tested using 25 questions to determine whether it was valid and reliable. Data analysis in the research is the pre-requisite test which includes the Normality Test and Homogeneity Test, and the T Test using the Paired Sample Test. The research results obtained were the results of studying the Moral Aqidah subject using the Teams Games Tournament method using the Paired Sample Test with the help of the SPSS version 22 program, obtained a t_count value of 4.880 with a t_table value of 2.063. With this value, it can be seen that the t_count > t_table value (4.880 > 2.063), so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Judging from the second decision, the significance value can be seen from the Sig (2-tailed) result of 0.000. This shows that the significance level of 0.05 is greater than the Sig value. (2-tailed) or (0.000 < 0.05), then it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Teams Games Tournament method on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The professionalism of educators is a crucial factor in improving the quality of education. At Ulul Albab Islamic Elementary School in Jember, some teachers still come from non-educational backgrounds, resulting in less-than-optimal learning processes. This condition requires effective leadership to guide and develop teachers’ potential. Female leadership is particularly interesting to study, as it is often associated with humanistic, communicative, and collaborative approaches in educational management. This study aims to describe the implementation of female leadership models in enhancing teacher professionalism at Ulul Albab Islamic Elementary School Jember, to identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and to illustrate the level of teachers’ professional competence. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation to confirm the accuracy of the findings. The results show that the female principal’s leadership strategy is oriented toward a democratic leadership model, characterized by teacher involvement in decision-making, open two-way communication, and continuous guidance and mentoring. Supporting factors include a strong culture of cooperation, harmonious communication, and the habituation of Islamic activities that foster teachers’ religious character and work ethic. The inhibiting factor lies in the principal’s limited authority due to the complex foundation bureaucracy. Overall, the professionalism of educators has developed well in four key aspects pedagogical, professional, social, and personal through training, formal career development, and professional certification in accordance with national standards.
