Education is a conscious and planned effort to create both conducive atmosphere
and process of learning so that learners can actively develop their potentials.
These potentials include, for instance, developing their sense of spirituality,
religiosity, self-control, noble character and skills all of which are profoundly
needed by the learners themselves as well as by their society and country. The
9-year compulsory education is a program from the government to address the
needs and challenges that await all individuals in the future. According to the
national act no. 20/2003, the government seeks to improve the standard of the
people’s life by requiring all Indonesian citizens of 7-12 as well as 12-15 years
old to finish primary education with a 6 year program in elementary school
and with 3 year program in junior high school. Nonetheless, without parental
support it is hard to put such a program into practice. The support, however,
may substantially influenced by the perceptions and beliefs of the parents
regarding the importance of education. This is mostly the case in Jember
regency whose community are mostly peasant. To unravel this issue, therefore,
this study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Wuluhan whose students
largely are from peasant community. More specifically, this study aimed to
explore the perceptions and beliefs of students’ parents about the importance
of education for their children. This study employed a case study methodology
with the data obtained through interviews. The findings suggest that the
students’ parents consider education is highly important for their children.

The phenomena of teenagers who always gather and socialize in certain places are a common thing in society. Teenagers tend to gather in one favourite place and make the place a ‘base camp’ for the group. Popular places such as cafes, wi-fi areas and others constitute a favourite place for teens to gather and socialize. A sense of comfort in that place is basically a prospect for Islamic preaching in providing religious knowledge. This condition, however, also poses a challenge for Islamic preaching requiring high level of creativity in practice. Improvisation in giving knowledge of Islam, therefore, is a necessity. Improvisation in raising religious awareness is needed so that teenagers feel comfortable in accepting Islamic values. The study adopted a qualitative approach. The participants were selected using purposive sampling comprising primary and secondary data. Primary data were data that were obtained directly from observations and interviews, while secondary data were obtained primarily from analysing some documents. The study was conducted in the sub-district area of Ambulu. The techniques for collecting data included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, data display and verification (conclusion drawing). To test the validity of the data analysis, triangulation technique was carried out. The conclusion of this study is the improvisation of preaching strategies used includes increasing teenagers' understanding by means of personal approaches, participatory approaches, and youth empowerment.

Instructional systems on Tahfidz Al-Qur'an carried out at Muhammadiyah Secondary School 9 Watukebo are designed in line with activities of interest and talent. Students who take part in tahfidz Al-Qur'an at Watukebo Muhammadiyah 9 Secondary School are not limited to certain classes. The problem of this study was formulated as follows: what are the instructional systems applied in Tahfidz Al-Qur'an, and is there a difference in learning outcomes of students who take part in the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an program at Watukebo 9 Muhammadiyah Secondary School. This is a qualitative study, sources of data are selected by purposive sampling. Primary data sources are data that can be obtained directly from the observations and interviews while secondary data is obtained through documents. Informants in the study were the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an teacher and students who took part in the program. Data collection techniques included interviews and documentation. The validity of the data were examined through the triangulation technique. The conclusion of this study is that the isntructional systems of Tahfidz Al-Qur'an at Muhammadiyah Secondary School 9 Watukebo uses halaqah, the implementation of the program consists of three activities, namely periodic memorizing, sima'an and muroja'ah. The methods used included, for example, the talaqqi method, tasmi, takrir. The second conclusion: there are differences in students who take part in the Tahfiidz Al-Qur'an program at Muhammadiyah Secondary School 9 Watukebo, especially after they participated in the Tahfidz Al-quran program.

Pembelajaran berbasis online bagi anak usia dini di masa pandemi memberikan tantangan tersendiri bagi sekolah, guru dan orang tua. Bagi pihak sekolah dan guru memberikan layanan pembelajaran berbasis online secara paripurna menjadi keniscayaan yang harus mampu direalisasikan. Kondisi tersebut akan berimbas pada tingkat kepuasan yang dirasakan orang tua siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat tingkat dan faktor-faktor kepuasan dan pendampingan orang tua selama pelaksanaan pembelajaran online di Sekolah Laboratorium PAUD Yasmin Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. Basis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner berbasis gooogle form. Jumlah responden sebanyak 50 orang tua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepuasan mencapai 86,73% sedangkan tingkat intensitas pendampingan orang tua pada proses pembelajaran online mencapai 78%. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat kepuasan orang tua antara lain penggunaan strategi/metode pembelajaran, bahan ajar yang disediakan serta penilaian guru pada setiap tugas dan pekerjaan siswa.

Online learning is a problem solving during the Covid-19 pandemic. Al-Amin Muhammadaiyah Boarding School (MBS) of Bojonegoro as one of the educational institutions under the auspices of Muhammadiyah is consistent and obedient to the decision of both central and regional governments to eliminate offline learning as an effort to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The implementation of online learning at Al-Amin MBS of Bojonegoro uses google classroom, zoom metting and whatssapp application. The effectiveness and efficiency of online learning can be linked to the level of student learning activities related to attendance, doing assignments, discussions and others. The formulation of this research problem is How is the level of learning activity of Al-Amin MBS of Bojonegoro students in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic? The purpose of this study was to determine the level of student learning activity and the treatment strategies or treatment of Al-Amin MBS in the implementation of online learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with survey research type. The data analysis used quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that the level of student learning activity was in the active or good category. The treatment strategies or treatments prepared by Al-Amin MBS of Bojonegoro in online learning are reducing the duration of lesson time and requiring teachers to make a resume of each learning material.

The online learning era found significant momentum when the coronavirus was spreading globally. Innovation, creativity and online learning tools increased significantly and rapidly. All levels of education, from early childhood to university, were racing to provide online learning. This context made the satisfaction dimension of necessity that must be realized by schools/educational institutions. Measurement of satisfaction in learning services was related to five dimensions including reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangible. This study aimed to look at the level of satisfaction and the factors that contribute to satisfaction of online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. This study used a qualitative approach with a survey research type based on quantitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that the average level of satisfaction reached 75%. While, the contributing factors were methods and strategies, and also the discipline and feedback attitudes of the teachers.

The construction of Hamka Sufi thought is very important for the world today, not only for reforming Islamic thought but also for reconstructing modern spirituality.
