Abstract

One of the annual events held in Pariaman City is the Tabuik Tradition. This tradition is organized based on Islamic principles to honor the death of Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad SAW. The celebration actually falls on the tenth of Muharram in the Hijri calendar. This study employs a descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach. To thoroughly understand how the Tabuik tradition shapes Islamic ideals in Pariaman, a qualitative method is chosen. The embedding of Islamic values within the Tabuik tradition, the function of the Tabuik tradition as a religious practice in Islam, and the role of the Tabuik tradition in building Islamic values in Pariaman are specific phenomena that are central to this approach. Interviews, observations, and documentation were used as the primary data collection methods. This approach enables scholars to examine the unique context of the Tabuik tradition in shaping Islamic ideals in Pariaman and to present a comprehensive picture of the actual situation on the ground. The results of the study indicate that the Tabuik Tradition in Pariaman is a complex amalgamation of social support, religious principles, and cultural identity. Through this tradition, the people of Pariaman strengthen their Islamic practices in response to contemporary dynamics, understand historical heritage, and express solidarity. The shared concern of both the government and the community for the preservation of the Tabuik Tradition reflects a collective desire to safeguard and nurture this rich cultural heritage so it can be passed on to future generations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the use of ChatGPT and the self-regulated learning of students in the Islamic Education Department (PAI) at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. In line with technological advancements, ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence-based tool, has increasingly been utilized in various academic activities, including supporting independent learning processes. This research employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method, where data is collected through a questionnaire measuring both the frequency of ChatGPT use and the level of students' self-regulated learning. The sample consists of 33 randomly selected PAI students. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation analysis to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results indicate a significant and positive relationship between the use of ChatGPT and students' self-regulated learning, meaning that the more frequently students use ChatGPT, the higher their level of self-regulated learning. These findings highlight the potential of ChatGPT as an effective tool for enhancing students' self-regulated learning in the digital age and provide recommendations for developing technology-based learning strategies in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the internalization of religious moderation values and the spiritual quotient (SQ) of students, with a particular emphasis on the role of local cultural accommodation as a key element. Religious moderation values such as tawasuth, tasamuh, tawazun, and i'tidal are internalized through educational practices and school culture, and are assumed to play a role in shaping the spiritual dimensions of students, including the meaning of life, self-awareness, and transcendental relationships. The study employs a correlational quantitative approach with parametric testing to ensure the validity and significance of the relationship. The results indicate a significant and linear relationship between the internalization of religious moderation values and the students' spiritual quotient. Local cultural accommodation emerges as a strong indicator in bridging religious values with contextual spiritual experiences. The internalization of values through local religious cultural experiences helps students develop a spirituality that is non-dogmatic, yet reflective, inclusive, and transformative. The study recommends the integration of religious moderation values with local culture-based education in the development of religious and character education curricula.

Abstract

This study examines the reception and symbolic meaning of 'Salawat' within the context of the A.M Assembly in Wonokromo Pleret Bantul, using the Living Hadith approach. Salawat, as one of the main practices in Islam, is not only understood as the recitation of phrases but also as an expression of love, respect, and spiritual attachment to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). While traditional Hadith studies focus more on textual analysis, this research highlights how the Hadith regarding Salawat is understood and practiced as a living tradition within the community. This study reveals that the practice of Salawat in the A.M Assembly is more than just a theoretical or textual understanding; it is internalized and expressed through ritual actions, symbolism, and collective experience. The study also demonstrates that Salawat serves as a social and religious bond, reinforcing community cohesion and affirming ethical values among the participants. Using a field-based qualitative research method, including interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, this research investigates how the symbolic meaning of Salawat develops and resonates within the community, reflecting the dynamic integration of religious teachings within the local cultural context. This study contributes to a broader understanding of Living Hadith as a methodological approach and offers new insights into how Islamic traditions are adapted and internalized in local practices, while enriching the relevance of Hadith in contemporary religious life.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of gender equality in the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and extracurricular activities of Rohis at SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study explores how gender equality principles are applied in the curriculum, teaching methods, classroom interactions, and student participation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the application of gender equality in both formal and non-formal learning contexts. The findings show that gender equality is effectively applied in PAI teaching through the selection of inclusive content and equal participation opportunities for male and female students. Furthermore, structured group discussions and the teacher's pedagogical control ensure equal opportunities for leadership and cross-gender involvement. The integration of gender equality in Rohis activities further reinforces these values outside the classroom, providing equal opportunities for students to develop and achieve success. This study emphasizes the importance of active teacher involvement in moderating classroom interactions and ensuring that gender equality is not just a normative concept, but a lived experience for students. The study also suggests that schools can strengthen gender equality by ensuring consistency in practices across the classroom, extracurricular activities, and institutional culture.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic values in the novel Ranah 3 Warna by Ahmad Fuadi and explores its relevance as a learning media for Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung. Using a mixed-methods approach, this research investigates how the novel conveys Islamic values through character development, conflicts, and the moral dilemmas faced by the protagonist, as well as how these values can be applied in an educational context. The findings show that the novel is effective in conveying values such as faith, discipline, responsibility, hard work, patience, and social benefits through its narrative and character development. These values, presented in real-life contexts, provide a reflective learning experience for students, making them easier to understand and internalize. Additionally, the study reveals that this novel can serve as a valuable pedagogical tool in IRE learning, encouraging reflective discussions, character-building activities, and student motivation. The relevance of the novel in IRE teaching lies in its ability to bridge the gap between abstract Islamic concepts and students' real-life experiences, helping them understand the why and how of applying Islamic values. This study contributes to the field of Islamic Education by advocating the use of literature as a dynamic medium to strengthen moral and character education in schools.
