Abstract

Environmental problems, notably global warming, have recently emerged as a source of concern. In the world of architecture, there is a phenomenon known as "sick building syndrome," which refers to health and discomfort issues caused by poor air quality and air pollution in an occupied building, which affects residential productivity. There is also a lack of natural lighting and poor air ventilation. In addition to the existence of global warming, the development or invention of renewable energy becomes the impetus for the development of green buildings. As more people become interested in green building, timber materials become a viable option for creating a long-lasting structure. Wood has long been regarded as a sustainable material and a renewable resource. Wood may be protected in the forest by collecting naturally growing wood resources and following harvesting standards. Eco - friendly construction materials are required to decrease energy consumption, emissions, and trash or garbage in order to maintain a healthy and comfortable environment on the planet.

Abstract

The elements that reveal the image of the city are the parts that make up the characteristics of the region. Elements that reveal the image of the city can be seen from kevin lynch theory (1960), divided into 5 elements, namely: Path (jaur), Edges (edges), District (Area), Nodes (nodes), Landmarks (tengeran). The purpose of this study is to find and find elements that reveal the image of the old city of kupang and want to try to solve problems found in the field such as 5 elements of urban imagery that are less visible in the old city area of Kupang, This study uses a rationalistic approach with qualitatively processed data. Data in the form of literature and maps are collected to see signs and findings in the field. Then devise a theoretical concept based on existing theories of research variables. In this research also carried out the process of method analysis of deduction, namely the effort to explain or predict the existence of facts / events at the research site according to the theoretical foundation that has been obtained. The findings of the study showed that at some point in the old city already revealed elements forming the image of the old city of Kupang which was influenced by the elements forming the city area in line with the socio-cultural and economic development of the people in the region.

Abstract

Local cultural values in architecture currently compete with modern culture in the midst of the current development of globalization. Tectonics in architecture is an effort to elevate the local cultural values of an area. The understanding of tectonics includes solving the logical structure of a space, handling construction joints, processing skills and meeting materials so that they are able to bring out the expression of a building as an aesthetic value. Tectonics in architecture often uses wood materials. This wood material was chosen because wood is a renewable material and is not consumed by the times. Wood material is also still used as a building material from time to time. This study focuses on two buildings with the same function, namely the traditional Wiswakarma Museum building located in Gianyar and the Odunpazari Museum of Modern Art located in Turkey. The results of this study will show a comparison between the tectonics of traditional and modern wooden buildings.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has hit the world, and Indonesia is also one of them. This pandemic is caused by a virus of the Coronavirus group, namely SARS-CoV-2 or often called Covid-19. This virus can infect the respiratory system, ranging from mild flu to death. The spread of this virus is classified as very fast because through the mouth when coughing or sneezing, this virus can also be transmitted through direct contact with infected people. Therefore, this virus spreads quickly in crowded places. To prevent the rapid spread of the virus, the government is carrying out a program in which people's activities are outside their homes. This restriction is done to reduce activities that can cause crowds. The government also recommends that people reduce the use of air conditioning, optimize natural ventilation and increase the use of sunlight, this can reduce the spread of the virus. Therefore, this study aims to implement strategies that can prevent the spread of Covid-19 in buildings. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the world, and Indonesia is also included in it. Abstract

Architectural consultants are very dependent on the presence of service users or clients, one of the marketing strategies that is usually used without violating the Indonesian Architectural Association's code of ethics is the publication of works that have been produced. Publication of this work can use various media, such as print media (books/magazines), Social Media (Instagram, Facebook, Web), Exhibitions, Online Media, and can also be in the form of architecture students or community activities. With the advancement of technology, architectural consultants can eliminate limitations in publishing their works for marketing. By applying the Marketing Funnel theory, it explains how to reach the market and get new market segments. Several phases will be obtained by the client, namely the Awareness Phase which can increase new audiences, the Preference Phase, which is when you can convince the client with the service products provided, this it is hoped that the client can reach the Loyalty Phase when the client has continuity in working with the Consultant. Abstract

Bamboo has different durability based on the type and method of preservation. This research was conducted to determine the method of preservation of the types of bamboo used as architectural building construction materials starting from before processing and after construction was built. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method which includes data collection on the types of bamboo used in the construction of architectural buildings and bamboo preservation methods. From the data collection, there are several types of bamboo that can be used as architectural building construction materials with different preservation methods on each bamboo before processing, namely preservation with petung bamboo using the Boucherie method, in wulung bamboo using a process that is preserved by diffusion with preservatives. continue, on the bamboo rope using the process of immersion with liquid alcohol, on the bamboo betung using the process of boiling in a drum tub. In addition, there is also a preservation process after the construction material is processed and built, namely by smoothing the surface of the bamboo with sandpaper then applying a chemical liquid in the form of bayclin and finally the bamboo is sprayed with varnish. By providing preservation of bamboo material, the durability of a bamboo architectural building can reach 10 - 20 years.
