Abstract

The community partnership program in the form of assistance in cultivating red rice on yard land was implemented in Aek Nabara Village, West Angkola District, South Tapanuli Regency. The Martunas Farmer Group needs assistance due to limited knowledge about the use of yard land and the cultivation of red rice. This program aims to provide knowledge on how to cultivate red rice on yard land and encourage and foster community interest in cultivating red rice. The method used is Pre-implementation, in the form of socialization, counseling and training, implementation, and Post-implementation. The results of this activity showed that the farmer group has an interest in cultivating red rice on yard land, so that it can provide additional daily needs. This activity also makes training activities and facilities more dynamic, the community is more active in learning and can be applied properly and correctly, which can be done in farmer’s yard land.Keywords : Dryland Rice, Yard Land

Abstract

Political education is a crucial aspect of fostering democratic awareness and enhancing the active participation of young generations in governance. High school students, as future first-time voters, need to be equipped with a solid understanding of the political system, democracy, and their rights and responsibilities as citizens. This community service program aims to provide socialization on the importance of political science for high school students to increase their democratic awareness and participation in governmental processes. The methods used in this activity include lectures, interactive discussions, and a simple election simulation. The results show a significant improvement in students' understanding of political science, as well as an increased interest in active involvement in political activities within their school and community. Thus, this socialization program serves as a strategic step in fostering early political awareness among young generations.

Abstract

This community service project aims to enhance Islamic legal literacy among orphans in Hutaraja Lamo Village as an effort to shape an intelligent, ethical, and dignified generation. Orphans represent a vulnerable group that requires attention not only in material aspects but also in spiritual and educational development, including an understanding of their rights and responsibilities according to Islamic law. The activity was carried out in the form of a social service program, which included Islamic legal education, spiritual motivation, and the distribution of social assistance. The method used was an educational-participatory approach, consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The activity involved 35 orphaned children, religious leaders, and local community members. The materials delivered covered the rights of orphans in Islam, the importance of education, and the values of justice and social responsibility. The results of the program showed a significant improvement in the participants' basic understanding of Islamic law, along with more positive attitudes toward themselves and their environment. The impact of the activity includes educational, psychosocial, and sociocultural aspects, while also encouraging community participation in the ongoing development of orphans. This program made a meaningful contribution to the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the area of community service grounded in Islamic and humanitarian values. It is hoped that similar programs can be sustained and replicated to strengthen the role of Islamic law in nurturing a noble and capable young generation.

Abstract

To succeed in academic writing, students must have the ability to locate and evaluate reliable scientific literature. However, many students still experience difficulties in searching for relevant reference sources. Therefore, this community service aims to improve students' academic information literacy by teaching them how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in searching for credible literature. An initial needs survey, guidebook preparation, hands-on implementation, and barrier analysis to evaluate the training results were used in this activity. This service involved 22 students in Merauke Regency, South Papua Province. The results showed that students were better able to use AI to find and validate scientific reference sources. The stages of service include, FGD with lecturers, surveys on students, preparation of guidebooks, training, and analysis of obstacles. Most participants who previously did not know how to distinguish credible sources can now use better search strategies by using various AI platforms, such as Scite AI combined with GPT in writing academic work. Device limitations were the main obstacle in this training.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the tropical countries that has abundant coconut plants. Coconut plants have manybenefits ranging from roots, trees to fruits. Currently, coconut trees have been widely utilized but notoptimally, especially coconut solid waste. Coconut solid waste can be converted into briquettes that canbe further utilized as environmentally friendly alternative fuels. Briquettes are blocks of material thatcan be used as fuel to start and maintain a fire. Batanggadis Village, West Panyabungan District,Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province is one of the villages where most of the peoplecook with firewood. Firewood is a cheap and easily obtained fuel compared to LPG gas. In addition,Batanggadis Village is known as one of the areas producing coconut shells, but it is not utilizedoptimally. Therefore, it is necessary to increase understanding and awareness in processing coconut shellsinto briquettes through training for the community in order to increase the added value of waste andincrease community income. And with UMKM management training, human resources in Batanggadisvillage are increasing.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation and impact of digital financial management training for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in facing the increasing competition of online business. The training was designed to improve digital financial literacy and enhance the capacity of MSME actors in using financial applications to manage their business finances more systematically and efficiently. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with participatory action methods, this program involved 30 MSME participants from various sectors and was conducted through stages of needs assessment, core training, and post-training mentoring. The results indicate significant improvement in participants’ understanding of basic financial concepts, their ability to use digital financial applications (such as BukuKas and Excel), and their confidence in making business decisions based on financial data. Moreover, the training succeeded in shifting participants’ mindset regarding the importance of financial management and opened opportunities for financial inclusion through formal access to capital. Despite challenges in consistency and digital infrastructure, this training has proven to be an effective strategy to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Community based economic development requires the active role of local institutions, particularly village cooperatives, as key drivers of community economic activities. However, many village cooperatives face managerial challenges that hinder their organizational performance and their contribution to rural development. This study aims to analyze the strengthening of managerial capacity in village cooperatives as a strategic effort to enhance community-based economic development. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, the research was conducted in three village cooperatives in District Tapanuli Selatan. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that cooperatives implementing managerial training, digital financial systems, and local partnerships demonstrate improvements in operational efficiency, member participation, and economic resilience. The discussion emphasizes that strong managerial capacity plays a crucial role in building adaptive, participatory, and locally competitive cooperatives. The study recommends sustained policy support in the form of training programs, digital transformation incentives, and integrated assistance for village cooperatives across Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the socialization of community empowerment through creative economy as an effort to improve the economy in Manunggang Jae Village, Padangsidimpuan City. Community empowerment through creative economy has great potential to improve economic welfare, especially in rural areas. Manunggang Jae Village has the potential of natural and cultural resources that can be developed through creative economic activities, such as handicrafts, local culinary, and technology-based creative industries. In this study, a participatory approach was used to involve the community in every stage of the empowerment process, from socialization to program implementation. The results of the study show that with effective socialization and appropriate training, the community can better understand the potential of the creative economy and apply it to create jobs, increase income, and strengthen the village economy. Therefore, strengthening community capacity and support from various parties are the keys to success in improving the economy in the village.

Abstract

Human Resource Management (HRM) is an important factor in increasing the effectiveness of local government administration. This study aims to analyze the role of MSDM in supporting the operations of the Public Housing and Settlement and Land Areas Office (PERKIMTAN) of Padangsidimpuan Regency. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results show that MSDM has a strategic role in the process of recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and career development of employees. However, there are several obstacles such as uneven distribution of human resources, limited training budgets, and a position promotion system that is not fully merit-based. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the agency increase the frequency of technical training, transparency of the career system, and synergy between agencies to improve the quality of public services.

Abstract

In this era of globalization, economic development has progressed in the activities of companies operating in the marketing sector, especially trade. Trading companies are required to implement effective marketing strategies to increase sales and maintain their existence. Marketing strategy is an important thing in a company, because marketing strategy is the main key in determining the appropriate steps to meet sales targets and competitive advantages. This study aims to analyze marketing strategies that can be used by trading companies to increase sales. The method used in this study is to use a qualitative approach. The data sources used are secondary data, which are data collected indirectly, not from original sources, but data from magazines or journals, and data from the internet. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that effective marketing strategies implemented by a company are market segmentation, targeting, positioning, marketing mix, SWOT analysis, and digital marketing. By implementing these strategies, the company can increase sales and build competitive advantages.
