The culture trip was aimed at providing the students with hands-on experience to learn about cross-cultural adjustment, skills to relate to people of other cultures, to be independent, and to act responsibly. Those skills are parts of the skills that people need to perform in the 21 st century environments. The study was guided by a research question: what were the students' learning experiences during the culture trip? The qualitative data for answering the research question were collected from the students' individual written reports of the trip, and the results of open-ended questionnaires given after the trip. The findings showed that for many of the students, the trip was their first independent travel experience which provided not only cross-cultural adjustment learning experience but also learning lessons about many of the skills needed in the 21 st century such as communication, using information technology, being self-directed, independent and responsible, managing goals and time, collaboration and working in a team. Abstract

Learning resource transformation is essential in this digital era, and English teaching and learning is no exception, especially in Madrasah context. That is why providing digital Extensive Listening (EL) materials to promote comprehensible input and character values is needed. This study outlines how Muslim English Literacy (MEL) application was developed to support the digital transformation as an alternative for EL materials. Research and Development (R & D) design was executed comprising seven phases of needs assessment, product design and development, product validation, first round of product revision, field testing, second round of product revision, and final product dissemination. The results of the field testing and moderation suggest that the developed product, MEL, is practical and applicable in helping EFL students to get more language exposure so that their English language acquisition can be facilitated. In addition, the product integrating character values may also strengthen their identity of being Muslims. Further studies on similar material development with more various topics utilizing technology apps are worth conducting.

Abstract

Among the choices of grammatical forms, the transitive system stands out in the pedophile community. The purpose of this study is to reveal the exercise of power and ideology of pedophiles through their transitive choices. In systemic functional linguistics (SFL), the transitivity system is widely used to analyze isolated clauses and contextual clauses. The data for this research was taken from conversational texts by pedophiles at WordPress Jakongsu from December 2021 to February 2022. Data were collected through netnography approach (Kozinets, 2010), which applies ethnography collection technique in the virtual world. The existed data were compiled in a digital archive. To analyze the data, Fairclough's critical discourse analysis (CDA) model was used (i.e., description, interpretation, and explanation). The findings of the study indicate that pedophiles tend to use clauses of the material process than those of mental and relational processes.

Abstract

The development of crypto has resulted in NFT (non-fungible token) derivation. Artists began to explore the NFT market with its potential. NFT artists have different ways to get engagement and establish themselves in the world of NFT, whether in terms of artwork substance or in the social field. This study aims to deconstruct the actors behind NFT artists to elucidate the visual style and the social engagement of artists in the world of NFT. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with data validation from interviews and NFT artwork samples. The data was subsequently processed using actor-network theory (ANT) to analyze and trace the actors behind the NFT artists. Two Indonesian artists, namely Angga Tantama and Mufti Prianka, became the study cases in this research. The result of this study shows heterogeneous actors who support the artists in their work's substance and social engagement. In the case of Mufti Prianka, NFTs influenced him to explore the possibilities of creating digital artworks, whereas for Angga, NFT platforms became one of his well-established channels to publish artworks. Based on their networks, the two Indonesian artists studied have different approaches and motivations in creating and engaging with NFTs.
