Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Indonesian forest honeybee conservation e-module on students' environmental literacy skills in natural resource management courses. This study uses a one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample in this study was 22 students of natural resource management class who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The learning was carried out 5 times, starting with the pretest and ending with the posttest. The data collection instrument used a multiple-choice test of as many as 29 questions which were conducted online using google form. Data analysis using N-Gain Score. The results showed that the gain-score was 0.8. So, can be concluded that the effectiveness of the Indonesian forest honeybee conservation e-module is quite high in improving students' environmental literacy skills, especially in the aspects of ecological knowledge, conservation knowledge, the attitude in presenting data and information, scientific behavior (having curiosity and caring for the environment), and wise behavior and responsible.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) and Somatic Auditory Visual and Intellectual (SAVI) learning models based on brain gym in an effort to improve student learning outcomes and retention. This study was experimental research with a Quasi-Experimental design. The population of this study totaling 62 people, using the BBL learning model for as many as 22 people and using the SAVI learning model for as many as 22 people. Data analysis used a t-test with SPSS for windows 22.0. The results showed that the average score of the pretest, posttest, and retest of the BBL class was greater than that of the SAVI class. The t-test analysis obtained a significance value of 0.026 <0.05 for learning outcomes and a significance value of 0.32 <0.05 for student retention. So it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between learning outcomes and retention in the BBL and SAVI learning models which affect learning outcomes and student retention in learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the role of intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence in affecting the teacher performance. This study used a research design of an associative quantitative approach. The data were collected through documentation and online questionnaires. This study used a sample of 39 respondents with the determination of the sample size using the saturated sample formula. Partial least square was applied to examine the relationship between teacher performance, intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. The results of this study showed that of the three hypotheses formulated, there were two hypotheses that were rejected. For the effect of the intellectual intelligence variable on the teacher performance variable, the results did not have a significant effect, and then, the effect of the emotional intelligence variable on the teacher performance variable was the same, which was not affected significantly. Meanwhile, the spiritual intelligence variable had a significant effect on teacher performance.

Abstract

Using the theoretical framework of the Felder-Silverman Learning Styles Model, this study aims to understand the learning styles of middle school students entering the university to promote teaching innovation and improve the quality of the learning experience. A quantitative research method was applied through repeated cross-sectional surveys for 3 years among 2,325 students. Systematic analysis is applied to investigate respondent learning styles. Data analysis showed a significant difference in terms of the sex of students, while in terms of graduation years, the proportion of sequential students showed a significant increase from 2014 to 2016; this might imply that students from scientific or analytic backgrounds increasingly choose management schools. As expected, management students are active in character, except in accounting programs, where sensing learners are dominant. Innovative, active and visual-based learning is also preferred. Through the findings of this study, we conclude that interest in studies is related to the learning dimensions. The teaching style must follow the characteristics of the learning dimensions to provide an optimal learning experience. Here, it is important to implement an innovation-based learning process in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to produce animation learning media on OHS courses with the help of software. This research uses Lee & Owens development research model. This research is done through 5 stages, namely assessment or analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. This research uses questionnaires to test the feasibility of learning media products through the validation of material experts and media experts. Assessments from students using scale instruments designed for validation of experts, materials, students, and construction skilled workers. Learning media products in the form of five animated videos. The rating by media experts of 87.13% is considered highly feasible. The assessment by the material expert scored at 81.43 which is categorized as very feasible. Assessments by students through limited trials scored 85, 86% of which were categorized as highly feasible. Assessments by construction skilled workers through limited trials get a value of 87% which is also categorized as highly feasible.

Abstract

This study aims to express the effectiveness of module development of power point optimizing training as a learning media. The module developed has several excellences such as the material presentation presented focusing on how to make a good learning media, started from the opening part, material, evaluation, references, completed with self assessment and presentation of Self Directed Learning (SDL) based material which eases the teacher to study independently. The type of this research was R&D with 4D model. based on the observation result found that predominantly the teachers did not acquire power point yet. Based on the result of N-Gain test on pre-test and post-test score shows that the average score of N-Gain is  > 0,70 (high category). The result of self assessment on each meeting shows that 75% teachers have achieved score 70. Based on this data, it can be concluded that the module being developed is included into effective category in improving the teachers’ competence especially in making technology based learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation of students' perceptions of e-module toward students' basic science process skills. The subject of the study were second semester students of Department of Physics Education in Universitas Jambi. This research used a mixed-method research with data collection instruments consisting of student perception questionnaire, observation sheet of students' science process skills, and also interviews. From the results of data analysis, students' perceptions were in the good category with an average of 74.95, and the basic science process skills of students were also in the good category with an average of 69.08. Based on the correlation test conducted there is a significant relationship between the level of student perception of e-module with students’ basic science process skills using Pearson correlation values 0,927, and Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 at a significance of 1%.
