Abstract

This study was designed to analyze differences in spiritual well-being as an indicator of inner peace between students who practice and those who do not practice the Naqshbandiyya Khalidiyya order at the Baitul Mustaqim Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung. Using a quantitative comparative non-experimental method, a total of 108 students were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of 55 practicing students and 53 non-practicing students. The Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) was used to measure the dimensions of religious and existential well-being, while the data analysis technique employed an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the average spiritual well-being score of practicing students (Mean = 87.49; SD = 11.17) was descriptively higher than that of non-practicing students (Mean = 86.25; SD = 9.663). However, the independent sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.536 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant difference between the two groups. The implications of this study suggest that Thoriqoh practices alone are insufficient to improve spiritual well-being, and that a holistic approach considering social support and existential aspects should be incorporated into guidance and counseling services in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of information services utilizing Kahoot media in improving the critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at MA Nurul Amien Pagarbatu. The method used was a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. All 10 students were selected as research subjects using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a test instrument and then analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-gain calculations. The research findings showed an increase in students' average scores. The paired sample t-test results obtained a significant value, indicating a significant difference between before and after the treatment. Furthermore, the N-gain value fell into the moderate category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Kahoot-based information services have proven effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the effectiveness of group guidance services based on a maze simulation game in optimizing the career planning of students at MTs Nurul Iman Pagarbatu. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The study subjects were 8 eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling technique based on their low career planning scores. The study instrument used a Likert-shaped career planning scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. Treatment was given through four group guidance service sessions integrated with the maze simulation game. Data analysis was conducted using a Paired Sample t-Test. The results of the study clearly showed an increase in the average career planning score. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. Thus, it can be firmly concluded that group guidance services based on the maze simulation game are effective in optimizing students' career planning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a website-based character strength counseling media to reduce symptoms of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) in vocational high school students. The main problem found in the field is the tendency of students, especially female adolescents majoring in Accounting and Visual Communication Design, who experience dissatisfaction with their physical appearance, such as compulsive mirror checking and social withdrawal. The results of quantitative data from 72 students showed 10% in the very low problem category, 44% low, 43% moderate, and 3% high. The guidance and counseling teacher at the school does not yet have special media to conduct tests or handle this phenomenon. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model modified into 7 stages. The assessment instrument includes a validation questionnaire for material experts, media experts, and prospective users. The results of the validity test using inter-rater agreement analysis showed a score of 1.00 (very high classification) for the three assessment aspects. This website is designed using Google Sites by integrating the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, self-management techniques, and character strength content to help reduce the dominance of Body Dysmorphic Disorder thoughts by shifting focus (reframing), building a positive perspective, and self-validation or strengthening self-esteem. Thus, this media is declared very suitable for use by BK teachers as a tool in group counseling services to reduce BDD in vocational high school students. The results of the small group test resulted in a decrease in problem scores between the pretest and posttest, which means that there is an effect of using the character strength website media in reducing students' body dysmorphic. Thus, the development of this media is an effective solution to help students fulfill the developmental tasks of adolescence in accepting physical conditions adaptively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze career opportunities of Social Science (IPS) students from a growth mindset perspective through the utilization of digital career guidance media. The main problem addressed in this study is the low level of students’ self-understanding, limited access to career information, and negative stigma toward IPS majors, which affects their career readiness. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects were eleventh-grade students in Bandar Lampung. The instruments included expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and effectiveness tests. The results indicate that the digital career guidance media has a high feasibility level (≥85%) and received positive responses from 98.8% of students. Furthermore, there was a significant improvement in students’ career understanding and readiness. The integration of growth mindset successfully transformed students’ perceptions of career opportunities into more adaptive and open perspectives. This study contributes to the development of digital-based career guidance services that are not only informative but also transformative.

Abstract

Resilience is an individual's ability to adapt to adversity, particularly among university students who face substantial academic and non-academic demands. Although previous studies have identified hope, social support, and sense of humor as factors associated with resilience, research integrating these variables simultaneously within a single predictive model remains limited, especially among Indonesian university students. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effects of hope, social support, and sense of humor on student resilience. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed. The sample consisted of 379 students selected through a two-stage random sampling technique. Data were collected using standardized scales and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicated that hope, social support, and sense of humor significantly predicted resilience (F = 119.295, p < .001, R² = .488). Individually, hope emerged as the strongest predictor, followed by sense of humor and social support. These findings support an integrative model of resilience that encompasses cognitive, social, and adaptive coping factors. The novelty of this study lies in the simultaneous examination of hope, social support, and sense of humor as predictors of resilience among Indonesian university students. The findings also provide practical implications for developing guidance and counseling services that promote hope, strengthen social support, and utilize humor as an adaptive coping strategy in higher education settings.
