The purpose of this study is to determine how life design group counseling can improve students' career decision-making skills. This research is a type of action research using the Kemmis and Taggart model. The research was conducted in four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study involved 10 students from class XII, who were divided into two groups: 5 students in group A and 5 students in group B. Research data were collected through observation, inventory, and interviews. The instruments used included observation guidelines, inventory questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The inventory instrument contained 39 valid items with an alpha Cronbach value of 0.825. The research was conducted in three cycles with quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that through life design counseling conducted by implementing questions in career construction interviews and planning goals and efforts in achieving future career goals, students were able to plan their careers carefully despite facing failure. Students also understand their interests and potential as career opportunities. The results of the interview explained that the life design group counseling services provided can improve career decision-making skills so that students do not feel confused. It was proven that 9 out of 10 students were able to identify the chosen further study majors, 3 of them succeeded in entering college without a test. Therefore, it is concluded that life design counseling can help counseling teachers in helping students in making career decisions. It is also suggested to implement life design counseling in other counseling service strategies

Bullying among adolescents remains a critical issue in educational settings, with growing evidence suggesting that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) contribute significantly to aggressive behavior. This study aimed to examine the correlation between ACEs and bullying behavior among senior high school students. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 145 students aged 15–18 through purposive sampling. Researcher-developed Likert-type scales were used to measure ACEs and bullying behavior, with validity and reliability analyses ensuring psychometric robustness. Statistical analysis using Pearson’s product-moment correlation revealed a strong and significant positive relationship between ACEs and bullying behavior (r = .874, p < .01), with ACEs accounting for 76.3% of the variance in bullying tendencies (R² = .763). Descriptive findings further confirmed that students with higher ACE scores were more likely to engage in bullying, indicating a consistent pattern across analytical levels. These results underscore the importance of trauma-informed school interventions and early detection strategies to address the psychological roots of adolescent aggression.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of experiential learning-based group guidance services in developing students' social skills at State Junior High School (MTs) 1 Bandar Lampung, while integrating the values of religious moderation. The research method used descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects used purposive sampling consisting of five seventh-grade students identified as having difficulties in social skills and a guidance and counseling (BK) teacher who acted as a facilitator of group counseling sessions. Data collection techniques used were structured observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation (lesson plans and student reflection notes). Data analysis techniques included three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students experienced a significant increase in social skills, in line with the principles of Islamic education that emphasize the balance between faith and a harmonious social life. This study provides a practical contribution to the development of guidance and counseling services in Islamic-based schools, particularly in strengthening character education relevant to the context of a multicultural society.

The learning process that incorporates social and emotional aspects is expected not only to transfer knowledge but also to foster morals and ethics. The aim of this study is to understand the experiences of implementing social-emotional learning (SEL) in junior high schools by teachers in developing students’ social-emotional competencies, particularly the types of approaches used during instruction. This research is a qualitative case study. The respondents were 9 teachers and 3 principals, selected through purposive sampling. The primary research instrument was the researcher, who collected data through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis followed three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The transcribed data were analyzed using NVivo 12 to support data visualization. The results indicate that the most frequently used approach to SEL implementation was teacher instructional practice, specifically teachers’ emotional awareness strategies. This means that before teaching SEL to students, teachers strive to cultivate their own emotional regulation and appropriate social interaction skills.

Gifted children have above-average intellectual abilities, but are prone to anxiety due to high demands and expectations from both their environment and themselves. This study aims to examine the effect of individual counseling using self-instruction techniques in reducing academic anxiety in gifted children at SMP GOLDEN GATE PALU. The method used was Single Subject Research (SSR) with a reversal A-B design. The results showed that after the intervention (B) through four individual counseling sessions using the self instruction technique, the average score decreased to 4.75, with a downward data trend and a change level of 3 (from a score of 6 to 3). The percentage of overlap between conditions was 25%, indicating a significant change after the intervention was given. These findings show that the self-instruction technique through positive self instruction is effective in reducing academic anxiety in gifted children.

Group guidance services are often used and used as a means to improve individual skills because in this service there are group dynamics. Individuals are expected to be more open or active in expressing their opinions, because self-disclosure is one of the principles of group guidance services. This study aims to describe how self-disclosure of students of the Ma'arif Islamic Institute Jambi in participating in group guidance services is seen from five aspects of self-disclosure, namely, accuracy, motivation, conditions, intensity, depth and breadth. The subjects in this study were all students of the Ma'arif Islamic Institute Jambi who had participated in group guidance services activities in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 43 students. The data collection technique in this study was carried out using a Likert scale model developed regarding self-disclosure, which in total consists of 42 items. The data of this study were analyzed using descriptive analysis statistical techniques used to see the picture of student self-disclosure in participating in group guidance services. The research findings prove that the self-disclosure of students of the Ma'arif Islamic Institute Jambi when carrying out group guidance services as a whole is in the moderate category, namely 53.49%. The implications of this research for guidance and counseling are that counselors can describe what aspects exist in an individual's self-disclosure.

This study was designed to test the extent to which game-based group guidance using Werewolf could enhance the interpersonal communication skills of junior high school students. Employing a one-group pretest-posttest method, seven students were selected through purposive sampling based on low interpersonal communication assessment scores. An interpersonal communication scale with proven validity and reliability was used as the instrument. Data analysis included the Shapiro Wilk normality test, the paired sample t-test for difference testing, and the calculation of Cohen’s d effect size. The research findings revealed an increase in the average interpersonal communication score from 89.57 to 120.57, with a significant difference (p < 0.05) and an effect size value of d = 3.28 (large effect category). This indicates that the Werewolf game played a role in facilitating reciprocal communication, argumentation, empathy, and teamwork. The implication of this research is that role-playing-based Werewolf games can be an effective choice of group guidance media for junior high school students.

Generation Z is a group that lives in a fast-paced and dynamic technological environment, so it is vulnerable to various psychological pressures, including quarter life crises. This condition is characterized by identity confusion, anxiety about the future, and uncertainty about the direction of life which has an impact on low ability to face difficulties (Adversity Quotient/AQ). This study aims to test the effectiveness of creative group counseling that is integrated with Islamic values in increasing AQ in Gen Z who are experiencing a quarter life crisis. The research method used is pre-experimental with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The research subjects amounted to seven Gen Z people who were selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments are in the form of AQ and quarter life crisis questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The intervention was carried out through five sessions of counseling for creative groups based on Islamic values such as patience, tawakal, gratitude, and effort. The results of the analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a Zscore = -2,410 showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (Asymp. Sig. = 0.016 < 0.05), which showed that group counseling services were effective in improving the participants' AQ. These findings confirm that the integration of psychological and spiritual approaches through creative group counseling can increase adversity questions in students .
