Abstract

This research aims to test the effectiveness of mathematics learning with the problem based learning and the conventional learning in junior high School (SMP) to improve the skills of mathematical literacy. The research uses the Quasi experiment method, with the design of the non-equivalent control group Pretest-Posttest. This study used two groups, one group as an experimental group that received the treatment of problem-based learning and one other group as a control group that received conventional learning treatment. The subject of this study was 64 students in two classes VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Magelang. The instrument used is a description test to measure the ability of students ' mathematical literacy. A large calculation of mathematical literacy skills is improved using the normalized gain equation g. The results showed that mathematics learning using problem-based learning can improve students' mathematical literacy skills. In addition, the research also concluded that there were no significant differences in the enhancement of the mathematical literacy skills of good students using both problem based learning and conventional learning. In experimental groups and control groups there is an increase in medium.Keywords: problem based learning; mathematical literacy

Abstract

Analisis bangunan bersejarah Panggung Krapyak memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah Panggung Krapyak dan mengetahui pendekatan terhadap bangun geometri Panggung Krapyak. Jenis penelitian berupa penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan bangunan bersejarah Panggung Krapyak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi (observasi) secara langsung. Wawancara dilakukan dengan warga setempat yang berada di sekitar bangunan dan dokumentasi dilakukan secara langsung. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menganalisis bangunan yang terkait dengan geometri seperti bentuk bangunan pada Panggung Krapyak. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh yaitu Panggung Krapyak pada awalnya dimaksudkan sebagai tempat panggung tempat sultan dan keluarganya beristirahat dan mengawasi anggota keluarganya berburu rusa, merupakan bangunan yang terdiri dari dua lantai, terbagi dalam 9 segmen dan mempunyai pintu ke 4 arah mata angin. Bentuk Panggung Krapyak tersebut menyerupai bentuk-bentuk geometri yaitu kubus.

Abstract

Matematika dan budaya adalah dua hal yang sangat erat kaitannya. Namun terkadang matematika dipandang sebagai sesuatu yang tidak berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Infactthe environment dapat menjadi sumber permasalahan matematika dalam kehidupan nyata. Lingkungan merupakan salah satu budaya yang salah satunya termasuk bangunan bersejarah. Matematika dalam budaya disebut dengan istilah ethnomatematics. Lawang Sewu merupakan salah satu bangunan bersejarah yang terletak di kota Semarang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur geometri gedung Lawang Sewu. Gedung ini dapat digunakan sebagai objek penelitian dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi langsung terhadap objek penelitian, wawancara dengan narasumber, dan menggunakan studi pustaka terkait dengan penelitian ini. Melalui penelitian yang penulis lakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa bangunan Lawang Sewu memiliki struktur geometri ruang yaitu kubus, balok, limas, dan prisma segi delapan. Mathematics and culture are two things closely related. But sometimes mathematics is seen as something that is not connected to everyday life. Infactthe environment can be a source of mathematical problems in real life. The environment is one of culture, one of which includes historic buildings. Mathematics in culture is referred to by the term ethnomatematics. Lawang Sewu is one of the historical buildings located in the city of Semarang. The purpose of this research is to know the geometry structure of Lawang Sewu building. This building can be used as a research object with qualitative descriptive method, with data collection using direct observation on research object, interview with speaker, and using library study related to research This. Through research that the authors have done, it can be concluded that Lawang Sewu building has a geometry structure of space, namely cube, beam, limas, and octagonal prism.

Abstract

Diterapkannya Kuruikulum 2013 mengharuskan guru untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik. Pendekatan saintifik merubah paradigma bahwa peran guru dalam pembelajaran harus berkurang, hal ini sesuai dengan teori belajar Vygotsky mengenai Scaffolding. Hasil kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa dalam proses pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik memiliki irisan dengan teori belajar Vygotsky. Bahwa di dalam pendekatan saintifik perlu adanya lingkungan social yang baik sangat sesuai dengan teori yang dikembangkan Vygotsky. Teory Vygotsky yang terkenal salah satu diantarnaya mengenai scaffolding. Teori ini sangat berhubungan sekali dengan pendekatan saintifik bahwa peran guru dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik harus menjadi fasilitator melalui bimbingan kepada siswanya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the distance learning process of deaf students during the pandemic. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The subjects of this study were mathematics teachers, deaf students, and stakeholders. The research was carried out at the SLBN Kota Magelang and SLB-B YPPALB Magelang . Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by questionnaires, interviews, and document studies. The main instrument in this study was the researcher, while the auxiliary instruments were questionnaires and interview guidelines. The validity used in this research is source triangulation. The results showed that the mathematics distance learning process for deaf students could be implemented in various ways and could be adapted to school conditions and student conditions. Distance learning can be done with the help of media in hand-out modules taken at school before the mathematics learning schedule is implemented. In addition, the distance learning process on the mathematics topic of deaf students can also be carried out through learning videos with additional translated texts. Deaf students can simultaneously watch videos and read explanations from math teachers.

Abstract

Schools in Indonesia are supposed to carry out mathematical learning well. However, in reality, mathematics learning process is, in many ways, simply delivering information without involving students to be able to build their own understanding and knowledge. Based on the observation, during the mathematics learning activities it was found that some students paid less attention, disturbed friends, did not do tasks, and did not focus on the learning processes. This study aims to improve students’ attitudes towards learning mathematics by applying the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning method with a scientific approach. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted collaboratively and carried out in class VIII A one of junior high school in Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta which consists of 21 male and 15 female students. The procedure is in the form of cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages namely: planning, implementation, action, observation, and reflection. The techniques of collecting data were observation, notes, field notes, documentation, non-test instruments (attitude questionnaire), and tests. The results showed that students' attitudes toward mathematics increased. The final results of the questionnaire on students' attitudes toward mathematics showed a good category (77.78%) with an average score of 110.44. Then, for mathematics learning outcomes, students got an average score of 72.22. The number of students who were scored above 75 increased to 63.89%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan gambaran peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa calon guru matematika dengan mengimplementasikan geogebra pada perkuliahan geometri ruang. Penelitian akan dilaksanakan di Universitas Tidar pada mahasiswa semester II perkuliahan geometri ruang program studi Pendidikan Matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experiment, dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest, satu kelompok sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang mendapat perlakuan perkuliahan geometri ruang berbasis geogebra dan satu kelompok lainnya sebagai kelompok kontrol yang mendapat perlakuan perkuliahan geometri ruang secara konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen tes dan angket tanggapan siswa yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli dan diuji reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan geogebra dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pada mata kuliah geometri ruang. Hasil lain yang didapatkan adalah adanya peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep geometri ruang pada mahasiswa kedua kelompok setelah diberikan perlakuan. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol sama-sama berada dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memperkaya hasil penelitian terkait dengan inovasi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan geogebra dalam pengembangan pembelajaran matematika yang inovatif.

Abstract

Mahasiswa calon guru matematika sering menemukan konsep geometris yang sulit untuk dipahami. Hal ini menyebabkan penurunan minat dalam geometri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendekripsikan dampak menggunakan GeoGebra berbasis ELITA pada prestasi belajar mahasiswa calon guru matematika di mata kuliah geometri bidang. Sebanyak 56 siswa dipilih dari program studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Tidar, sebuah universitas negeri yang terletak di Magelang, Jawa Tengah, Indonesia. Kelompok eksperimen (35) diajarkan tentang melukis garis-garis istimewa pada segitiga menggunakan GeoGebra sementara kelompok kontrol (36) diajarkan menggunakan metode pengajaran konvensional. Pada akhir penelitian, prestasi belajar mahasiswa diukur dengan menggunakan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa GeoGebra berbasis ELITA adalah alat yang efektif untuk mengajar dan belajar geometri bidang di perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

The analysis of historical buildings Ngawen Temple has a purpose of knowing the history of Ngawen Temple and knowing the approach to the Ngawen Temple's geometry. This research type is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subject of this research is the historical building of Ngawen Temple. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews and documentation (observation) directly. The interview was done with the temple officers around the building, and the documentation was taken directly. The data analysis technique is done by analyzing the buildings related to the geometry, such as the building's shape on the Ngawen Temple. The results of this study were obtained; namely, Ngawen Temple set in Buddhism. The Ngawen Temple complex consists of 5 (five) temples that line the parallel from north to south. Temple building facing the east. From the south of Ngawen Temple I, II, III, IV, and V, each temple plans the square. One of Ngawen Temple's uniqueness is the existence of 4 lion statues in every corner of temple II and Candi IV. Another uniqueness is the temple's architecture, found in a lion's statue that supports the four sides of the temple building reconstructed from the five buildings. The lion statue's carved style resembles the lion symbol of Singapore's country and serves the rainwater that comes out through the statue's mouth. The Ngawen Temple's shape resembles the cuboid's geometry, the rectangular pyramidal frustum, and the rectangular pyramid.

Abstract

Abstract:Every student has a different ability to understand mathematical concepts, thus affecting the students' misconceptions. The research aims to identify the misconceptions using a four-tier diagnostics test method in integral topic. This research uses the qualitative method with study case strategy. The data are obtained from the four-tier diagnostic test on the integral topic. The subjects in this research are XII grade students at MAN Kota Magelang. The research results show that students' misconceptions divided into several categories of misconceptions, namely misconceptions, did not understand concepts, understood some concepts, understood concepts, and were undefined. The cause of students experiencing misconceptions on integral topics is that there are too many formulas to be memorized by students, and teacher learning methods are less attractive to students' learning interests on integral topics.Abstrak:Setiap siswa memiliki kemampuan berbeda untuk memahami konsep matematika, sehingga memengaruhi kesalahpahaman pada siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesalahpahaman dengan metode uji diagnostik empat-tingkat dalam materi integral. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan strategi studi kasus. Data diperoleh dari uji diagnostik empat-tingkat pada materi integral. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII di MAN Kota Magelang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa kategori kesalahpahaman, yaitu kesalahpahaman, tidak memahami konsep, memahami beberapa konsep, memahami konsep, dan tidak terdefinisi. Penyebab siswa mengalami kesalahpahaman tentang materi integral adalah bahwa ada banyak rumus yang harus dihafal oleh siswa dan metode pembelajaran guru kurang menarik bagi minat belajar siswa pada materi integral.
